What’s the staple item of your closet? I’m asking the one thing you refer to as “essential.” For me, it’s the blue jeans. I don’t know about you guys, but to me, they are the coolest and probably the most timeless clothing items in the fashion industry. Every single year, we have different trends and star pieces in fashion, but blue jeans always manage to preserve their power and influence on every single generation. You can never go wrong with a nice pair of jeans, I’m telling you. With different fits, lengths and color options, they can be adapted to almost any style and I love them for it.
I don’t know about you guys, but when I think of blue jeans, the first thing that comes to my mind is Levi’s for sure. After all, Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis were the ones who invented blue jeans that we still wear in 2024. Today, I want to tell you the story of Levi’s and how it managed to stay relatable even today, because it's a 151 years old story. So if you’re ready, what are we waiting for? Let’s dive in!

My husband is a big fan, and he only ever wore one kind of Levi jeans (and one pair). So here is the thing: his last Levi jeans lasted a long time, and when they eventually developed holes and my husband wanted to replace it, he went to the Levi shop, gave them the style and size numbers, and VIOLA! He bought a new pair of jeans that's like his old pair with holes. Just like that. I don't know another popular jean shop when someone can just show up with two or three numbers of jeans that are many years gold, and then the store can provide the same pair on the spot. I do have some respect for Levi for this factor alone.

When Levi’s offshored all their manufacturing, I stopped buying them. Same with Coach. Although I was never a big fan of either, TBH. Lately I’ve been rediscovering legacy brands like Guess and Polo Ralph Lauren.

They definitely had a resurrection in recent years. They were not it about 15 years ago.

I bought my 1st pair of Indigo Levi's 501's in the mid 1970's I had to save up for them. I loved them, I havn't worn Levis in years, but I still love them. I heard years ago, that the Levis made in the USA are the best, (dah) and are over AUD350. could be way more now. Mine, I think were made in Australia, maybe the USA, not China, back then. I don't know if the newer ones have any stretch in them, as they were 100% cotton. One colour only Indigo. I don't know how true this was, but before you got rid of them, you would take the leather tag off, and if you collected enough you could get a pair for free. Or maybe that was a different brand, maybe LEE? I live in jeans. Debra xxx

It takes me about fifteen minutes for me to walk to work. During winter when it's below twenty degrees with the wind howling will make you believe Levi's are worth it. I bought a cheaper brand once because they were on sale BOGO 50% off. By the time I got home my legs were cold and started to turn red. While wearing Levi's I didn't even notice.
