Ironically, it's the Calvinist that limits God's sovereignty by asserting that He doesn't have the power to create a being with the free will of choosing to serve Him.

Its definitely ironic. It’s a cognitive dissonance for sure.

@nathanhellrung9810 yep...Another example of this is they believe salvation is purely monergistic. Well, if you believe salvation has absolutely nothing to do with how you freely respond to God's prompting, then that also means ( if your being consistent) that damnation has nothing to do with how you freely respond to God's calling. In short, if you end up damned its all on God.

@@chriskeith5742 I’m truly not trying to be inflammatory but when I debate with a Calvinist I feel like I’m talking to the JW’s or Mormons at my door. Clipped proof texts, out of context verses and complete disregard for logic. It appears a form of sickness or indoctrination because at some point I don’t feel I am talking to a rational human despite their so called “educational status”.

@kevinkleinhenz6511 As a former Calvinist and now being able to see things from a biblical perspective, it's astonishing how the all Calvinist's use the same cookie cutter proof texts, arguments, redefined biblical words and vernacular to support Calvinism. It really is a cult with many followers, and once you are gripped by it, it's very difficult to read the Bible that is not Calvinistic.

I started out by following sermons from John MacArthur because he seemed to be dedicated to truth, unlike wishy washy preachers like Joel Osteen. Gradually, I embraced all five elements of tulip. Then I began to teach double election, it was only rational. By this time, I was on the verge of becoming a fatalist. I even pondered pursuing a post graduate degree in philosophy. Who knows where I would have ended up. Calvinism may not be a literal cult, but there are similarities. Cults don’t give you all the dirty secrets up front. They gradually take you deeper and deeper into their practices. Why don’t Calvinists tell new Calvinists about the murderers in Geneva sooner? Why don’t they mention that God ordains the abuse of children up front? Simply because that would scare away young proselytes.
@angelamc2923

Maybe not every calvinist church/group is a cult but many of them literally are...people have been escaping in droves and telling their stories, like Bodies Behind the Bus, and Tia Levings. I think the calvinist definition of sovereignty enables abusers and cult leader mentality quite a bit. And its often combined with Gothard "umbrella of authority" or "spiritual covering" doctrine or the mistranslation in Hebrews "obey your elders." (The word obey doesn't even occur in the Greek.) If God micromanages and forces everyone to comply like a despot, why shouldn't we?

To realize the influence that Calvinistic doctrine has had and just how many aspects of it ( if only in part) are viewed as core tenets of Christianity, moves me to a state of astonishment & sadness. Only to further realize that not only are they viewed as such but in fact are part of ‘Christianity’. That much of what is and has been called ‘Christianity’ by the world and many Christians; the focus, the deductions, the rationale is based upon presuppositions not founded in the scripture claimed to be its foundation. Much of what is thought of as being a follower of Jesus the Christ, is (& it bothers me to say this) in actuality, a man made religion; this is an overwhelming and very heavy realization. Thanks for all the effort you have put into examining many of these claims Warren.

AI coupled with Deep Fake. Even modern Television is beyond real now that when watching say a football game the colours are soo vivid that they are no longer natural. And then if you look at modern gaming technology say on Madden NFL, it’s getting closer to looking the exact same because you have real Football looking not-so-real, and unreal football looking more real. I believe this is part of the conditioning of our minds so that we will no longer know if an AI Robot is a human, or if a President is really speaking or not and it’s a Deep Fake instead etc etc. It will be quite easy to fool people with a talking beast who has been given power to deceive nations.

Ok, there really needs to be a united movement amongst us Non-Calvinists to hammer hard on this massive weakness in Calvinism. For too long, we have tried to keep the conversation on Free Will. While that’s an important subject, its actually secondary to how we define Sovereignty, because Calvinism’s denial of Free Will entirely flows from its gnostic and esoteric views on Sovereignty. The whole debate can be concluded there, at least practically speaking. If Sovereignty does, in fact, equal determining all things, then yes free will doesn’t exist. If Sovereignty doesn’t mean Determinism, the entire basis for denial of Free Will is a house of cards. Calvinism dies if Determinism dies. Luckily for us, the Bible is pretty clear that God doesn’t determine all things, and all we’ve gotta do is show the verses (like Jeremiah 19:5) which prove it. Hammer this truth home: Sovereignty does not mean, nor has it ever remotely meant, Determinism. Sovereignty just means having the authority and power to do as you see fit. And no, Determinism isn’t the “high view” of Sovereignty, it’s an Un-Biblical view of Sovereignty with esoteric, pagan gnostic origins.

The "Sovereignty of God" is a fabricated inaccurate description of God. I'm not a King James only advocate but do you know how many times the word sovereign is in the KJV bible? 0 times. Do you know how many times sovereign is in the NASB? 8 Times. Do you know how many times sovereign is in the NIV? 295 times. Notice the progression here? Now doesn't that raise an eyebrow? The newer the bible, the more you see this word creeping into the English translated bibles. Solution, check the original language. In the Greek, κυρίαρχος is the word for sovereign. Well guess what? You won't find that word in the NT or the Septuagint (sorry, I don't know Hebrew but the Septuagint was accepted scripture at the time of Christ). When you see the word sovereign in English translations, the Greek is κύριος (lord), δυνάστης (potentate, also, this is where we get the word dynasty so this is inferring a family headship) and δέσποτα (despot, in the Greek this simply implies a king with absolute, unlimited power, unconstrained by external laws, but is not necessarily tyrannical). In many places, sovereign is just added to the scripture where there is no other word that it's supposedly replacing. Example, in the NIV you will often see "Sovereign Lord" and the only word in the Greek is κύριος (lord). A sovereign is a type of ruler that is impersonal. The God I serve is relational. A sovereign is immovable. The God I serve hears and is moved by our prayers. A sovereign is a meticulous controller (sounds sort of Calvinist, eh?). The God I serve has designed us with free-will. Personally, I never use this unbiblical word to describe our King of Kings, Lord, our Mighty Fortress, our Savior, our Wise Counsellor (and several other descriptions that isn't "sovereign"). Sovereign is a word that Calvin used to describe God and I think it was in order to make excuses for why God (in their view) arbitrarily selects only some to be saved and passes over the rest..."it's a mystery, God is sovereign!". I think calling God "sovereign" plays into the hands of the Calvinists when there are plenty of other adequate ways (which are actually biblical) to express our understanding of God.

Doesn’t this reveal that the KJV is in-fact better/more pure than the new versions? I used to be reformed and used the ESV for 8 years and NIV for 5. I dropped both of them after researching the Bible version issue. There are MASSIVE differences between the KJV and any other modern English version. Verses missing, important words changed or missing and doctrine-altering words removed as well. I 100% trust and believe every word of my KJV. Check for yourself! Your modern version tells you to doubt Mark 16:9-20 (it’s in brackets in most modern versions).
@TheGuy..
@TheGuy.. Жыл бұрын
@@eelikh I have serious issues with the NIV and ESV (as I mentioned on the "sovereignty" issue, and more) where I don't have as many issues with the CSB or NASB. However, with those I still have problems. Greek is my 2nd language. I lived in Larissa Greece back in the 70's and have continued with the language since then. With the KJV, I have many problems with that also and have found the NKJV to have corrected "some" of those problems, but not all. For non-Greek speakers, I suggest using a parallel Bible and when you see apparent conflicts you can refer to a Greek-English interlinear Bible which will be a more technically accurate translation (though it may again be difficult to understand because of the grammar differences and figurative expressions of the ancient Greek or Hebrew culture...I have to do that with the Hebrew OT since I really don't know more than about 20 of their words. With the OT, I'll often look to the Septuagint). Even with the ancient κοίνε Greek, I'll occasionally have difficulty with that since Greek has changed quite a bit over the last 2000 years. I can even see a slight difference between the later writings of John with the earlier writings of Paul, though it may only be style differences. On this, since the Greeks have the continued experience of their own language, I'll often refer to their modern translations (on those difficulties) since they would have understood their own earlier cultural expressions better than us English speakers, lol. The Greeks also have the same problem we do in deciding what should be included as canonical (such as the Mark 16 and other transmission line differences). On this, we can still tell from the text that is consistent between all the lines of transmission what is the correct core message and nature of what God would expect us to understand of scripture and of Him. When you say you trust 100% every word of the KJV, why? There were several English translations before the KJV...Tyndale, Wycliff, Cloverdale, Bishops etc. People of those days would have to do the same with their translations...refer to the original Greek and Hebrew text for clarity. Why? Because the translations are translated by those with their own biases and by those who don't know the original language as well as they think they do (which includes the KJV translators). Translators translate using what is called scribal glossing which is to make the translation read smoother (in their opinion) and in doing so they will sometimes select words without foreseeing the future interpretation difficulties. Also, they use what is called inserting dynamic equivalences. This is where an expression, which would be totally foreign to us, is replaced with a figurative equivalence which can be more easily understood by us. And when that happens, you can imagine the "lost in translation" problems there. One of the best things for us to do is to examine ourselves and pray that we are being led by God to understand Him and His Word and His expectations correctly. When we do that, He will excuse our mistaken ignorance (that is Biblical) but may not excuse our rebellious biased arrogance (I'm not saying that is what you are doing, lol). Anyway, from my studies, that's just my conclusions on all of this.

@@eelikh I just got curious as to what influences you have. I like many of the channels that you subscribe to but then I ran into the Cody Zorn show. How can you sit in the pews there and listen to that over animated hollering chanting display? Preachers like that love to be seen and heard by those who just accept everything they say. Just listen to the people sitting in the pews worked up into an emotional frenzy, like sheep being led to the slaughter. He hollers King James only and you believe it. If his message is true, then why can't he preach like he talks in a normal civilized conversation? I thought his head was going to burst open. He has a pulpit where he can yell at the top of his lungs and nobody questions it. When people (whether atheist or a visiting Christian like me) come to a church like that for the first time they usually will either say "forget this, this a madhouse" or they will be the type that will fall for any cultish teaching with a need for belonging anywhere they will be accepted (though I was glad to hear he wasn't Calvinist). Don't get me wrong. Much of what he said was correct and true but often the truth gets error laced in unnoticed. Here's a challenge for you. Question his King James only view and watch his reaction. See if he will allow a calm, slow moving, intellectual discussion on that without him immediately throwing up his defense shields. OR, bring up my challenge on the unbiblical use of the word sovereign, which even the King James Version doesn't use to describe our Creator God. But mainly, watch how he reacts to YOU. Btw, I won't bother you anymore. I'll only reply if you reply back. I just felt led to respond back to you this one more time.

Ive heard people compare calvinism to being cult like. Years ago I listened to a speaker explain how to identify a cult based on 4 simple math questions. Are there Additions to scripture? Beyond the bible do they give authority to other writing? Do they subtract from who Christ is? Is Jesus' power, authority, and deity challenged or diminished? Do you see them multiplying the way of salvation? Is salvation purely based on faith alone or is your salvation also hinged on works? Lastly ask is there a division of loyalty? Are you asked to obey teachings or follow the leadership without questioning them at all even when you disagree? This I would say is specific to a church where leadership is authoritarian and controlling. When I really think about these 4 areas in relation to calvinism I see some red flags going up.

The debate regarding Calvinism is far more important than most non-Calvinists are willing to admit in public. Calvinism is preaching and teaching a false meaning of faith. Without the correct faith in Christ, as taught in the Gospel Word, a person cannot be saved.

I agree, it's hilarious, but if people just understood that Calvinism at its root is simply based on taking power away from the "church" then I think we wouldn't be so harsh on their interpretations. However, it's nice to see a balancing with non-calvinist dominant channels occurring.

EXCELLENT VIDEO. Great job exposing the inconsistencies of Calvinism by the very people who unfortunately preach it. They are preaching another gospel which they are not suppose to do. And will be held accountable for it. I would not want to be in their shoes come judgment day.
