im surprised no one talked about The Promised Neverland. to say the 2nd season only diverged from the manga "a little bit" is a CRAZY understatement given that they skipped like 80ish of the chapters, including a really big fan favorite arc. the animation quality also dipped like crazy. it's fair to imagine that the falloff wouldve happened eventually, but with the amount of arcs they skipped, it happened immediately with season 2

so how I interpreted Hunter x Hunter is that Gon as character sure starts off as a happy go lucky kid, but then when the Chimera Ant arc hits, he switches to this person that is "evil" within. While Killua is the opposite from Gon. Its like Gon and Killua's personality switches as the anime goes on.

That's honestly why i think its one of the weaker arcs, because it felt so completely one sided since they were used as a benchmark to show how strong the Straw Hats have become.

@Peter, @Scarra, Regarding Spoilers: For someone you are talking to about watching One Piece, would you ruin what happens at the end of the big war at Marineford? That aired in anime form January 2011, 13 years ago. I would not, because I think it would kill one of the big adrenaline pumps of the 1100+ episode anime (or manga), but it is well beyond your 5 or even 3 year timeframe. It all boils down to how strongly you want to ruin the desire for people to consume specific works of anime and manga I suppose.

They edit each episode to remove title/ending, filler scenes and scenes the animators make unnecessarily extra long which ruins the pacing of the op anime hence its name "onepace"

the timeskip in one piece is super important because after the war that luffy was involved in, it showed a glipse of what the new world was like. he understood he was not ready for it and decided to group up with the crew in two years instead. timeskips are not generic if you try to look at the reasons why they happen in the story.

Idk if you and scarra read Gosu yet, but that is THE Manhwa that got me into reading manhwas and is still one of my top 5 manhwas. It came out a year before Solo Lelveling. The author also made a prequel Manhwa called Yongbi the Invincible, which I recommend reading either before Gosu or after the 1st season of Gosu.

Asuma gets killed in episode 80 of shippuden. As far as I can rmr, he is the first “main” character to die IN SHIPPUDEN. Also his death is quite different than the characters u mentioned. Asuma was straight murdered lol. The third hokage sacrificed himself. Haku sacrificed himself.

Blue Eye Samurai (have two females that are super strong but in two very different ways ❤, I just love the characters in this show) Psycho-Pass (have a super competent female lead character) Both are relatively short shows with relatively closed stories, I like stories that are thought through from the beginning. But also Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood ❤, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and maybe a less popular one Odd Taxi, they are all worth the time.

Peter, you can easily read the db&dbz mangas over a weekend. It's a pretty light read compared to others. After you read the manga, you should go watch the DBZ abridged from team4stars, it's a parody but they did such a great job, you'll enjoy it and get to watch the anime without the filler.

One piece is my favourite series ever but I understand why people don't like how one-piece does a time skip or a story in post-time skip, in general, is because the crew never go full all out ever. Compare this to the early arc where the crew have to go all out every arc. There are a lot of sit-backs in every arc That is why Oda has to add more characters to make it more interesting. Im caught up for manga and at this point, in the current arc, the crew just show the full potential of their 2 years of training. Literally just arc before current arc that we see Robin use Full power from her training lmao I understand the frustration. However, my favourite aspect of Onepiece Time Skip is the world is moving alongside Luffy, If you are not World building junky like me it might not be interesting. For example, the Navy moves head quarter to the New World, There are new 4 emperors and new warlords, a New Admiral, The World summit starts soon, and an Important incident happens ( Rocky port) New faction//an illegal business happened because of what happened before the time skip. I like it because everything happens at once and It is easy to miss but the payoff of this thing is really satisfying to me. SPOILER*** For example, the "Rocky Port incident" was introduced at the same time as they introduced Traflaga Law. It only says that he is the mastermind but we just got more info about Black beard, Koby and the Ex-Rock pirate involved in that incident in the recent arc. the story that does not even involve the main character but affects the whole story. It's like saying Akatsuki fought with Kazekage in the time skip which resulted in Sand Village creating a giant wall to black them self of the world or something like that. Now for manga suggestion: this is really old ( super old) but "Ganbare Genki" is really good for Boxing manga

Struggling in Fishman Island Arc? Really? Did we read/watch the same show? The main complaint in that arc is there were hardly any resistance for the Strawhats. The complain of people is that Hody and his crew are too weak and they just use drugs. And even with the use of the drugs they didn't scratch other character than Luffy. And Luffy is fighting underwater which should be much harder. Did you see Zoro one shot Hody, UNDERWATER? Zoro could have ended the arc there. I'm disappointed Peter. Bad take on that one.

i didn’t know that yvonnie was so deep into anime! i thought that she was just a huge naruto and sailor moon fan, it was a pleasant surprise to hear how she grew up on dragon ball z and digimon - so yeah present surprise ! i’ve been reading this manga called “The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity” because my friend recommended it and i think peter would like it! it’s a romance manga that’s in the top 100 so idk if he’s read it but it’s super adorable and i love it to much, 10/10 would recommend !! amazing episode as always, can’t wait for the next one ❤

As someone who has been reading One Piece for almost a decade now, anyone who tells you that you need to keep reading/watching and that it "gets good" is actually brain dead. To me OP is great from the get-go, and if anything it has dropped in quality post time skip. The people telling you to keep going are nothing more than speed watchers who didn't pay attentions and did it purely to be in the zeitgeist and "participate" in the discourse, where the discourse in boiled down "it's peek bro" and "it's mid bro". If you didn't like it with in the first couple of chapters/episodes just stop, you are doing yourself a disservice by sinking time into something you clearly don't like or enjoy purely so you can tell other people that you've seen it. Please, just watch something you like.
