I am someone who enjoyed Stein's Gate in the current day, but I do have to say that you will only enjoy it if you finish it. The first half is literally all buildup for the last 3rd of the season and it is all done so well, but it does require a lot of patience and if you cant handle Okarun's Chunnibyoness I get why you can't finish it.

Steins; Gate is really just a slice of life until halfway through. But once shit starts going down it's a crazy ride all the way to the end, which only works because of the foundation of the first half of the show. Absolute masterpiece.

The initial episodes are hard to get through but after episode 12, everything is so good that the later whole half is like the best thing in anime and its honestly a fair trade It had the perfect ending for a TIME TRAVEL FICTION which is so hard to do. And when you rewatch Steins gate again you feel like the initial half becomes sooo much more interesting and i feel like that makes this anime much more lovable and just amazing experience with this perfection honestly Like how rare is good ending these days and this one has the best one!

This is true. Though I feel like some of the episodes were filler-y, there were a lot of good episodes to build up the main cast of FMAB and Hughes was more developed making his death more tragic. In FMAB, he’s not as relevant prior to his death.

True about One Piece. Greatest of all time in my mind, but I 100% would not be able to get into it from Ep 1 if I was a first-timer now. The Live Action did great things for One Piece. Hitting the Final Saga is gonna bring a lot of attention since OP stands head and shoulders over all other Shonen regardless, but having a digestible form is essential. Can't wait for S2

I love the Solo Leveling takes and this is coming from a BIG solo leveling fan. I agree with the points - I don't think the IRL game is lame per say - since its just leaning heavily into the power fantasy trope - but the animation needed to be at the level of Sung Jin Woo vs Igris consistently, I feel that would have elevated the show.

On FMA vs FMAB, I see how people can prefer FMA. FMAB was made under the assumption a lot of the fans already watched FMA, so the early story was more rushed to get to the parts of the story that didn't make it to animation the first time. With FMA the early story had a lot more time and depth to really hit. For example, the arc with the Tuckers lasted several episodes in FMA and you really got attached to them making what happens next much more tragic and heartbreaking. Whereas in FMAB, the whole Tuckers' story was done in one episode.

Syd's take on Solo Leveling is spot on. I've described it as 2 anime premises smashed together for no reason. The starting premise was cool alone. I wish they would have never brought in the weird gameified shenanigans. I was told to watch FMA Brotherhood first, but I was stubborn and needed to know why ppl preferred the Brotherhood than the original. No one would explain. So I watched the original, I liked it. The plot was good and was sad it ended shortly compared to Brotherhood that had more episodes. Then I watched Brotherhood, I liked the sharper animation and enhanced colors, the beginning followed the same, but then it turned to different parts. It felt very weird to me. I tried to think it as an alternative universe of a different decision. Brotherhood is good if you watched it first and you will be satisfied. Watching original first then Brotherhood would ruin brotherhood for you. Maybe that's why people strongly suggested Brotherhood. Hmm
@FullmoonPhantom-dn2sr9 ай бұрын
I loved FMA 03, too. I enjoyed it more than Brotherhood. Though, I saw Brotherhood first and then FMA03. 03 was funnier to me and I also found the tone more fitting for the series given the story and premise. I preferred the brothers ending as well. It just fit the story so well. I enjoy having both endings and both series though.
@wesleywyndam-pryce53057 ай бұрын
@meh_lone_bah brotherhood is the actual story. the original fma anime caught up to the manga and then instead of adding filler and waiting they just changed the entire story for a new ending. and people liked it at the time. however since brotherhood actually follows the manga to the conclusion and is generally viewed as having the better 2nd half and ending it is what will always be recommended. we all watched fma first years before brotherhood came out but brotherhood is still the better of the 2 to most people who grew up through the release of both. the actual best way to watch it is to watch original fma anime until it departs and then swap the the episode in brotherhood that was supposed to come next. brotherhood rushes the early bit somewhat assuming you be already seen it which leaves that part weaker than the original anime. so its the original fma anime thats the alternate timeline, not brotherhood.

I really like the art style, character designs, as well as the world building/setting of the manga. The anime adaptation wasn't bad, but I prefer the manga. However, it is an ecchi or fan service series, so I can't recommend it to everyone unless they are fellow degenerates. I find it interesting that Syd can't watch old anime.
