Yeah, when they stopped doing refunds at 3.0, several years ago. 3.0 was their legal minimum viable product -- this is their released product, you get 30 days to refund. It will be locked to the same progress until funding stops, probably another decade from now. I'm glad that people are enjoying SC, but it's not for me. I backed for S42 nine years ago, and I doubt we'll ever see another thing about that, because SC brings the "pledges," which are purchases, and what they claim my "pledge" was spent on when I asked for a refund over three years ago.

@@adamaj74 I became a nay-sayer a few years ago. The 2015, then 2016 "Answer the Call" fake outs on S42 were bad, but then nothing for over a year, then 3.0 after another year woke me up. The game *is* released; they will keep baiting ship buyers and dreamers with promises, flashy videos like this one and glacier slow progress for the duration. Why "release" a reality when people are paying for fantasy? It's not going to change in the next four years any more than it did the the last four years -- they can call it pre-alpha all they want, it's released: *no refunds.*

Yes the game is pretty but in its current state it is very unoptimized, buggy and the implemented game mechanics are very shallow, repetitive, and grindy. This game will be worth it maybe another 3 to 5 years of developement, but right now it is not close to as interesting as this video makes it seem. You know a game is royally screwed when a promotional video for it trying to show off its *best* bits (lol there is nothing about this mess that is good!) is not even *close* to raising 100,000 views in the week since it was posted... this self-proclaimed, genre defining space "epic" can't even muster the merest hint of interest from the gaming public at large these days, and what notice it *does* garner is, as can be seen in the comments below, general derision and mockery for the gigantic, slow motion, $350 million+ dollar, pre-Alpha tech demo (nearing it's 10th year of development!) failure that it is. For comparison the new Ratchet & Clank trailer that was posted to KZbin 4 days ago has already sailed past 1 million views and is showing little signs of slowing down... And also, it didn't have to be a carefully edited showreel of tiny snippets of gameplay and padded out with non-gameplay cinematics to try and hide the severe lack of actual in-game content (and the countless bugs and glitches that make up most of the *real* player experience in SC).

10 years in development? nope. until 2014 they had no professional studio to do voice acting, cut scenes, etc. the game wasn't being developed seriously before 2014. until then they were just messing around with pre-development. also, they started with 4 developers and even in 2013 they were around 110 developers. the game was never gonna be finished in 3-4 years.

An empty shell of a "game". Whenever a "game" says things like "explore on your own terms" it just means there is no effort put into structure and making an actual game. "build it with us" translates into "we did not build the game, and its not even close to done, but we are going to charge you insane amounts of money for this and the ships in game." This is gonna go the way of sea of thieves. basically a huge scam game by third rate hack devs in shtty montreal. Whoever buys into this is a fool. end of story. Every other respectable developer crew produces games. These guys scam you for the hope of a future game, which makes them statistically likely the worst game developers currently working in the industry.

After 10 years and 300 million we have a beautiful graphic technical demo, with buggy static NPCs, poor gameplay, beautiful but empty planets and many vehicles with attention to the smallest details. And closets so well done to do 20fps. Perhaps more than a video game you had to make prototypes of spacecraft. A lot of smoke, no roast

All of these shots are re-used from older videos, taken from in-game, and taken from real life. Seemingly all that went into this specific video was an editor and maybe a few people flying ships around to set up these in-game shots. Probably wasn't that expensive at all since they already had most of the footage. This video probably costs about as much to make as your standard KZbin video that covers video games.

Are you denying that some of the shots from the video are taken within the game because you'd be wrong (and probably haven't actually played the game if that's your impression). The first 28 seconds is almost entirely comprised of in-game footage and there's still several more shots after that.
