Nina-Marie, I truly enjoy your videos. I'm a retired teacher, and I want to compliment you on how well you 'teach' us techniques, etc. You are excellent, not only as an artist, but also as an educator!

Thank you for your comparison. You answered the questions I had on how the butters compare. That is exactly what I wanted to see. I love the cards you did with the stencil butters. They are beautiful.

I wonder how these products compare to the Simon Hurley Lunar Paste? I'd also like to know if they dry up in the jars quickly? Thanks for comparing these 3 products--very helpful.

Nina, THANK YOU for this video. For non-professionals like me, questions abound when I see all these products. You have taken away many questions from my never-ending list of "I wonder if....?" or "I wonder how...?" I have the PFS and Nuvo products. I may invest in some of the butters now. Thx again! Nice to see a comparison of these products! I like the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, but as you say, it can be harder to apply and can squish under the stencil because it's stiff; however, I find if I take a bit out of the pot and work it back and forth with a palette knife for a bit, it will smooth out and be much easier to apply.

Is there anything on the market that has no sheen or shine to it? Basically I am looking for a matte paste that already has the colour added in it? Nothing is coming to mind, I know you can get a matte paste and add the colour but it never really comes out to a true concentration of the colour. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks for making such a great informative video. It really helps take the guess work out for the consumer, making sure we can get what we are looking for. Take care

My questions are like others on what the shelf life is. Also, can you use the stencil brush on the other 2 pastes?
@SimonSaysStamp4 ай бұрын
Like any paste, it can dry out over time. But butter is pretty good in that respect!

bristle brush applied very thinly and the paper pressed and removed to leave a fine sheen instead of a buildup would be great. combine stencil butter with Jacquard Lumiere and Pearl-lex pigments and use stamps and linoleum blocks cuts and monotype printing.. pastel dust would be good too. pen and ink linework as well.

Hi I’m new to stencil butter. Bought some of it and the Lunar Paste to try. Wanted to know if all these products are non-toxic (the Lunar says it is) and how to clean your stencil and hands? Do you just use water? The CW butter has no instructions on their website.

I had several colors of Nuvo Mousse. Unfortunately they dried up in the jars even though I was careful to keep the lid on tightly and immediately after use. I had to throw them away. I wonder if the Picket Fence and Stencil Butters will act like that.
@kimglasgow84013 жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same thing. I had the exact same thing happen to me with the Nuvo Mousse and need to throw them away. I just haven't gotten around to doing that yet. I even put saran wrap and foil on the opening, then screwed the lid on pretty tight and they still dried up and can no longer be used. I would like to know if the Stencil Butter or Paper Glaze will do that, or will it be similar to Ranger Texture paste. I have had my texture paste for years and have never had an issue with it drying out.
@shawnnahorton92443 жыл бұрын
There is something about the Nuvo products that makes them all dry out so fast even if you take care to put the lid back on tightly and also use press and seal/saran wrap. I have probably a dozen or so glimmer pastes that I used once, then went back and they were hard and crusty. And my embellishment mousses are the same way. I hesitate to buy any more of this kind of product for that reason. I don’t “professionally” craft because I work full time and crafting is a luxury for me. I can’t afford to keep wasting products.

With similar water-based products from Cosmic Shimmer, I spritz them with water after I use them to keep them hydrated (which Cosmic Shimmer recommends).
@kristinekerr36882 жыл бұрын
@@candyclouston1412 People don’t forget to use distilled water only. Tap water can cause things to grow inside. Ask me how i know🤣

Do they have a shelf life longer than the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse? I’d like to keep my craft supplies for longer than a year and still be able to use them.

I watched this twice and was still confused. It would have helped me a bit more if you stuck the jar cover on the desk when describing some of the singular stencils. You also did not mention if the butter dries out as rapidly as the Tonic products. It looks like I have to buy more stuff though because the butter and the Picket fence ones are stunning.
