This session explains about synthetic Future
1) What is synthetic Future?
An isomorphic form of future positions through options
(a + b)2 = a2 + b2 + 2ab
Future Long = BUY ATM CE + SELL ATM PE
Nifty Future Long = BUY 12000 CE + SELL 12000 PE
Future SHORT = BUY ATM PE + SELL ATM CE
Nifty Future Long = BUY 12000 PE + SELL 12000 CE
2) Hidden secrets about synthetic future
Synthetic future effect is same in all strike prices
Buy 12000 CE + Sell 12000 PE = Buy 11000 CE + Sell 11000 PE
It need not be in ATM. It could be OTM or ITM
Generally done in long term option by big boys
Option Prices move based on future price
Time Value in CE & PE in same strike is almost equal
Nifty is @ 12000
125000 CE @ 50 - OTM option - Time value = 50
12500 PE @ 550 - ITM Option, Time Value = 50 Intrinsic Value = 500
3) BENEFITS
Less Operation Cost
STT, Stamp Duty are higher for future
No Cash Settlement for MTM loss
MTM loss can be adjusted with collateral
All months may not have Future Contract.

Hello sir, the video on "why adjustments" is excellent one. Can you plz make a video on how to decide that it is time to initiate an adjustment. In you 3 vidoes of extreme adjustments i..e in Infy, Reliance and HUL, when you say market started going up or down etc.. but it doesn't go straight up either on 1 hr TimeFrame or 1 day Timeframe, it goes up then pause, sometime little retracement then again upward journey, so we'll always be confused that should we should we not initiate the adjustment. Please explain this decision in relation to price move on different timeframe. Thanks.

Yes ! Future is ease to square off position thanks to liquidity But in Synthetic position of 1 of ur option goes deep in the money , due to lack of liquidity u won’t be able to square off position that easily , if not exercised then 0.125% STT will be applied

Using with this synthetic long I took covered call strategy with minimum loss that can be covered by adjustment ... if our view of market direction is correct risk reward is 1:2 .. if it is wrong risk is < 0.5 till expiry... what ever the market condition.. I am doing it in BN weekly.. this strategy requires only 25K per lot... with 25K margin 10.5K profit in last week.. if we want to perform it in futures margin must be high ... it is biggest advantage of this synthetic future .. thanq for sharing your knowledge sir...
