True, but at this point Sasuke was using his brothers eyes for his mangekyo to attack the 5 Hokage and the whole situation was just cold. It showed Saskuke's descent and Gaara's development at the same time. While I am fine with either one winning, Goku only used SSJ3 like 2 other times after that. It was still a fire moment tho.

The build-up and establishment of the 8 Gates, the names of his final moves, seeing Madara get damn near Blitzed and bleeding, plus the insane teamwork Minato, Lee, Gaara and Kakashi pulls off against Madara. Seeing what the transformation amounted to in the end is a little sad. But imho that doesnt take from everything else as to how fricking hype Guy opening the 8th Gate was. Its like saying Goku's SSJ Transformation means nothing since Frieza essentially got to live later on and completely powercliffs that transformation. People Glaze this moment because its unironically an amazing moment, just in the same way HOW PEOPLE LOVED Goku's SSJ and how its arguably the most iconic transformation regardless of the implications in the story afterwards.

But most of the critiques that you had in your previous comment can be similiarly applied to the SSJ transformation. I think my favorite thing about ssj2 gohan was that the not only the WHOLE FIGHT, but gohan’s WHOLE CHARACTER was that 1. he was born a kind soul, but was always being pushed to violence, 2. Even as a kid, he had the potential to be STRONGER THAN HIS FATHER (father was trained by the god of martial arts and killed the LITERAL DEMON KING AS A CHILD btw) when he got angry. This whole time before the transformation, he didnt want to fight, even after cell was going for his family and friends. But when cell killed 16, an especially kind soul, he snapped. And everyone, especially his father, knew what was about to go down. That transformation told everyone that Cell had just woken the gentle giant, enraging one of the strongest characters in the entire show.

Guys I feel the chat was bugging when they said hear five vs hogan is easy. Like don’t get me wrong I also picketed super saiyen 2 but it’s hard if you know both shows. Cause gohan is the first person to go beyond the legends, he was him and the goat and proceeded to break ground of anime history (this is slightly dragged down by the fact dbz continued and immediately went ssj3). But hear five changed one piece too, it’s just not as well known cause not a lot of people have read one piece to get the moment like dbz has been watched. This is a transformation literally a decade in the making, now oda clearly wasn’t planning everything out from the very beginning as he added things later on, but with all the early foreshadowing we know this was something he had at least the concept off. This completely changed what decades of one piece fans thought was luffys power were, the completely changed devil fruits, this opened the doors to so many new aspects of the world, it quite literally was the mark of end game one piece and the world governments secrets. This was fire But gohan was to iconic so it still wins, I just wanted to preach a bit

SSJ2 Gohan definitely deserved that W against SoSP Naruto good pick. SoSP was definitely cool & wrapped up his journey as a fighter and as a Jinchuriki but Gohan going SSJ2 proved that there truly was something beyond Super Saiyan. It had been talked about and we saw a glimpse with Super Vegeta & Trunks but Gohan going SSJ2 opened up to what lay ahead (Broly was really the only other one who can be credited for having that impact, definitely influenced Super)
