On today’s episode, Dr. Nick talks about the mechanisms and possible treatment options for Long COVID. Long COVID has affected many people since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and many are looking for answers. It is a multi-organ system disorder, which makes it very difficult to treat. Each individual may have different mechanisms contributing to the disorder that is causing one’s symptoms. It is important to identify which mechanisms causing the problems by having proper blood work addressing co-infections, autoimmunity, and blood clotting, gastrointestinal tests, and autonomic nervous system testing. Only then can a proper treatment plan be produced to help the individual. Check out the video for more in depth information on new Long COVID finding, mechanisms, and possible treatments!

This is the best description of all of this I have seen yet... and especially that it is so concise.. that makes me feel some hope that I can ask my doctor to watch it... My symptoms from covid are very strange and i have yet to find other people with similar symptoms.. mine are so strange I still can barely figure out how to even describe them myself.... One of the main things in case it helps anyone else is that the covid seems to be "latched on" to my monthly hormone cycle.. the symptoms peak and release as the monthly hormones shift.... The symptoms also seem to possibly be similarly following the daily TSH cycle... peaking at lowest TSH midday then gradually improving as the TSH raises to highest middle of the night.... for this reason I feel best middle of the night.. Im trying to figure out all of these overlapping puzzles and it has been a maddening experience.... I seem to have long covid now ontop of already having the complex issues of developmental cptsd which led to graves / hyperthyroidism... and all the strange things all of that causes... and now the covid ontop my intuition has been feeling that all of these things are all very related... and why im having such bizarre symptoms etc.... Trying to ask regular doctors to figure out all of these now suddenly way more complex and more overlapping puzzles has not felt very hopeful so this video gives me a lot more hope.... Thank you very very much.🙏

After my second round of Covid in May of 2022 I have experience what I assume to be “long Covid”. Varying symptoms but you mentioned noticing around your hormone cycles and for 8 months or so after my 2nd Covid I had severe headache, fatigue and malaise with every monthly cycle to the point that I took multiple Covid tests every month during my cycle because I could swear I had it again. I don’t have this as severe now but I still have fatigue, low energy, feeling of not having enough air flow at times, headaches, and most significantly my Vo2 max dipped drastically and I’ve not been able to get it back to where it was. I also get overstimulated extremely easy and have brain fog and lower motivation( prob due to the brain fog and fatigue). All that being said I have always been a very active person and I have been forcing myself to do things that were part of a normal routine pre-2nd Covid infection 😢 My first Covid infection I feel never made it to my respirator tract whereas the 2nd time I got it it was definitely in my respiratory tract and I was sicker way longer than with 1st infection. It was def a stronger strain 🤪 My doctor said 6 months-1 year and while some symptoms have improved (not as severe during cycles) I still have lower V02 max and get fatigue, brain fog, overstimulation.

The virus is persistent in gut because it has a bacteriophage mechanism. A lot of people are not getting a reinfection, they're going through seasonal drops in immune system that allows re-spreading rather than reinfection. The bacteriophage mechanism also damages the gut bacteria that release dangerous toxins when damaged by the virus.

Anyone with Long Covid and Post Exertional Malaise, and you haven't improved in 6 months, (actually more like a year). Then sadly thats ME/CFS. However the most people that recover from ME/CFS is in the first 3 years. As a lot of people do recover during that period. After 3 years only 5% to 7% ever recover. So we need research into medications

Absolutely not and really bad diagnosis. For just fatigue itself I not only have Chronic/Active Epstein-Barr Virus, my spleen has lesions. Per the PET/CT scan it is not cancerous and per the Rheumatologist it is not sarcoidosis. In addition, the doctors will not do a biopsy since it is way too dangerous, because the spleen is a vascular organ. Third, add I have Visual Snow Syndrome with Migraines that does cause fatigue as well. So, your statement is quite limited and misleading, especially in my case.
