Thanks voor the video. I had the same problem with Pentel pocket brush pen, it was just too wet to create dry brush effect, so I pulled out the cartridge and use it as a dip brush together with rotring ink.Works pretty well for me that way now.

Really excellent work! I think it looks great! I'd love to see the effects of those two red Michael's "segmented" brushes. I only use synthetics, but have yet to try a trad synthetic brush that didn't have something about it I disliked, so I've resigned myself to various synthetic brush pens. I'd like to try a Kuretake 13! FYI, if you don't like the stock ink in the Pentels, I have successfully refilled their cartridges/bodies (for the squishy gray fude ones) using a syringe with UIltradraw for a couple years now without ever cleaning them. Also used Ultradraw in a Kuretake 8. Never had any clog, but I do use the pens daily. If you get the big bottle of Ultradraw, you save a lot of money! Just shake it well before you fill your pens, and you'll have a very smooth, super black ink: )

I do use Ultradraw in my Kuratake and my tech pens. I use Black Star for most everything else. I do want to get a syringe for trying to refill my Pentels

@@jasonpaulperkinsart That's cool you use Ultradraw in your tech pens! Which ones? I've tried it in some fineliners. Worked in Pitt pens really well, but so-so in Microns and Copic SPs.

@@badicecream2913 I use it in Rapidographs. That’s how I started using it. Never tried in copic SP. I wish that worked. I love those pens but the ink isn’t my favorite.

@@jasonpaulperkinsart I've always been scared off of getting into Rapidographs because of the rumored maintenance, but I love the idea of the them. I hate having to stop and fiddle w/tools, even if I love the tools. Hear you 100% on the SP ink! The Ultradraw works, but doesn't flow *quite* as well, and leaks a bit around the tip. I've only tried it on an 0.7, since I have two of those. But something like an SP that you could choose your own ink? Boy, that would be great: )

@@badicecream2913 rapidographs are a bit of maintenance but I have found that if I clean them as a routine every couple of weeks I rarely have an issue. I have a set that I got as a gift but really only use about 3 or 4 of them.

Please,what's the conditioner you use to reshape a Kolinsky brush? Also, is it important to use specilised soap for brushes, or a natural soap made of Olive oil is as good?

What’s the comic standard for fine liner line weight for out lines and details when drawing comics some for drafting pencils ?
@jasonpaulperkinsart Жыл бұрын
There isn’t a standard. You can reproduce pretty small these days. I will on occasion use a .003 for certain small things but it’s rare that you will have a line that small that is all one width through out.

Do you normally ink over blueline printed out, or is there a reason for inking over orange?

I do red sometimes because it can be a little easier to see. No other reason

@@jasonpaulperkinsart Do you use a special kind of printer ink that doesn't bleed when you apply the ink over it?
@jasonpaulperkinsart Жыл бұрын
@@counterstrike89 nope. It’s just an Inkjet printer. No special ink.
