The headline is completely misleading. It's an attention getter. The guy never talks about what one should eat. It should be: "Eric Edmeades on the Importance of a healthy Diet". And leave out that distracting marketing music.

Mindvalley videos are always an advertisement for their actual course. These guys are not giving out anything for free! But let me tell u what I gathered from this guy and many others.... Just eat natural. No processed foods, or packaged foods, no fruit juice concentrates, and avoid sugary foods. Eat fresh home made meals... And drink lots of water. Many of the times when we feel hungry,it is actually water we need. I am not an expert, but whenever I feel like getting in shape, I follow the rule... 70% kitchen, 30%exercise

Incredible talk! This man is introducing the power of food for the reality of health, things we should be taught in schools, and for obvious reasons we are not. We are what we eat doesn't mean anything in today's world as it's become a cliche, unfortunately. I respect the doctors who have studied food! " How long do doctors study food?" Ayurveda has always emphasized that from centuries. it's only last few decades when market forces have influenced diets over traditional ones in India, leading to lifestyle diseases. Some examples are sugar in place of jaggery, chemically refined oils in place of cold pressed natural oils, vegetable ghee in place of desi ghee, vegetable oil made butter in place of natural butter, finely ground flour in place of coarse floor, chemical Laden toothpastes in place of neem datun, iodized sea salt in place of rock salt and so on.

Yo, I must argue wit this wonderful speaker upon a point: Milk. Was jest now watching a KavKaszes Docu & there is a woman born in 1890 in that doc, who loves to drink fresh cows milk. So my argument is this: Milk ought not be verboten, rather we are simply doing it wrong. When we lock up cows, take away their young as they are being born, denying them the comforts in life, we create embittered beings. Every drop of the conventional milk, when they use the cows wrongly without giving them their cuddles & due, is produced under stresss. By drinkin' it we GD forbid imbibe dis-ease. So let's rethink that one..

I am a cardiologist. Every time a patient comes in I tell them to eat naturally. To eat vegetables as much as they can... I tell them to cut down on sugar... I write them links on these videos and... every time.... they laugh. They say can’t you give a pill and we get over with the visit. Quick fixes... when it is already late. Pleaseeee people educate yourselves... do the work. Don’ t laugh at doctors or nutritionists or experts who do know about food- health... I am not giving up but sometimes it’s frustrating. I want to make a change, I want to go to the market and not have to read every single label. I hope the individual movements change industries... but how easy and fast and how much health gained if it was already the other way around!

Wow, you seem to be are rare gem within doctors. I never a single one of that kind. I know the frustration that comes with trying to educate people to own their health. My parents are in bad shape but everything I recomend they are ignoring. I myself got so unbelievable results from changing my diet, refilling my body with nutrients - but even the living proof isn't convincing enough. So please keep up "annoying" your patients for the one that will listen and will get better.

I like the principals and theories... what I don't like is the constant bombardment of Mindvalleys statement, every clip you watch on KZbin, you see Vishen explaining his stuff... I get it, I don't want to be reminded it on every clip I try to watch. Mindvalley enters the 'irritation' border, bit like those all washing adds which annoyed the hell out of everybody, ... thinking that if it annoys you, you at least know the product.... That's for me a reason to look away from Mindvalley... sure, Vishens book mentions 'try to change the world', but.... doing that by agressive marketing methods which resemble the way of 'mindcontrol' and repetition, almost cult status... I don't like. Despite all theories of all courses that are on Mindvalley are indeed inspiring... the agressive marketing, is not. Ow, and most courses, ... if somebody wants to pay 700-1400 bucks for stuff which is already online that's fine, but... I find it way to expensive, especially for information which isn't that special at all, only perhaps combined to a 'package' . I bought Marisa Peers course... asked for refund when I found out that all the stuff she said was already online and not to special. She probably a very good trainer or coach for some people, but her courses aren't.

Brother, the thing is that there is nothing wrong in drinking milk. Our ancestors have been drinking it since ages so there is no problem in consuming it. But the thing is that, the milk we get from the so called packet milk companies are so adultered that they are not even milk. It may cause you more harm than good. But if you get milk from the right sources i.e from a person who has his own diary and where adulteration is not possible, you can freely drink it. And as far as the quantity is concerned, moderation is the key. Anything in excess is bad! 😊

@@VivekKrishna97 You're fundamentally wrong I'm afraid. Drinking milk from another species, let alone as an adult human, is inherently wrong. He's right. He's saying human should eat human diet. Like elephants eat elephant diet. So basically human should eat what would they eat if they were in the wild: anything edible, variety, whole, organic, diverse food. I have dieted all my life, and my conclusion is: to eat a little of a lot diverse whole vegs, fruits, animals; the color of the rainbow. and satisfy all 7 tests of : sweet, salt, pungent, sour, bitter, astringent, and umami.

All that you said is great, especially about cows milk. But next time please be specific - human beings are starch eaters (rice, corn, oats, potatoes, beans, peas, lentils..) with additional fruits and vegetables.

If you look at prehistoric diets they vary depending on the country and are focused on survival so if only fish was available they ate just fish - but where I live we ate mostly vegetarian and meat was rare - I've been vegetarian since 11 and healthier than friends my age I think that's because I avoid pills and doctors unless emergency situations - elephants and lions can be healthy and vegetarian - it is a myth that it makes you weaker. We can all survive on rubbish but not for a long time without getting sick - the body has no problem with vegetables and fruit - the rest is rubbish that you can tolerate but should moderate. Run your engine on the best stuff.

don't get me wrong as I eat 90% whole plant based. he commented that if your not having a reaction to dairy that your body is turned off and that's a bad thing as we are not getting the signals well actually it could mean that your body is working well .....just putting it out there lol

It could be so... or not! Actually a lot of people are not aware of food effects on their body. If they have any issue they just don't think it may be their food or they don't realize that they could feel much better, especially if they are emotionally attached to that food. This guy goes a bit extreme. Not all milk drinkers will have cancer! Some people can process it, but it's true that most people who drink milk are not doing something good for themselves. Milk and dairy are not good for human bodies, but as humans can adapt to different environment developing new skills, they adapted to dairies, usually by carrying on a mutation that allows consumption of food that other humans cannot process well. The mutation that allows lactose is well spread among North and Central Europeans and some parts of East Europe and Mongolia. They are the adaptive mutation. It takes centuries for a genetical line to build an adaptive mutation and in the meanwhile they loose members behind as a natural selection. Since medical studies don't take into consideration genetical patterns they decided that lactose-tolerance was the norm and lactose-intolerant was the defective human. Same for tomatoes, corn, wheat and a number of other things...

yeah their marketing tactics are very agressive....that's 1 reason I don't really like them. Sounded solid in the beginning, and it's still not bad, but... their marketing methods , seeing this Mindvalley guy at every youtube clip, is annoying. They probably think that's good, since most will click, but for me it's a reason to skip them.

Humans live all over the world in various climates and their "traditional" diet varies according to the geography as does the produce of the Earth. Diets and requirements change according to place and climate.

Milk IS good for you, it is the "wild" human diet for thousands of years. The problem now is that it's pasteurized so much and the milk doesn't come for cows with their natural diet. People who have lactose problems later find that after drinking raw milk their lactose problems go away. Raw milk has lactase.

I don't know how I got to this video. Today of all days. But, my God, I feel like I was just socked in the gut. I'm only 37. I'm fat. My teeth are literally disintegrating even though I didn't even have a cavity up until about 10 years ago. I've got fibromyalgia. I've been having issues with chronic bursitis in my hips. I have nearly constant congestion and runny noses with some serious sinus headaches and migraines. I just passed my 8 years clean and sober mark and I was thinking...... This. This is why I used drugs. I have always felt "sick" - I don't remember a time from probably the age of 10-12 yrs old that I felt ok... Not even good. Just ok. Sorry for rambling. I guess I'm just saying that I obviously ended up here seeing and hearing this for a reason. Soo, thank you. For opening up your life so I can maybe get mine back on track.

Has anyone ever heard of Dr. Mark Hyman, who has been doing this for 25 years plus years or for that matter Functional Medicine. don’t get me wrong I agree wholeheartedly with Eric, but this has been around for quite awhile. Eat the good stuff! All natural foods, nothing processed. Give up sugar. Amazing what will happen.
