I'm a sole-preneur Handyman and I have a Ram 2500HD Cummins Diesel with a decked system in the bed. I carry my M12 tools and basic supplies in it for daily repairs and small jobs. I then also have 6x12 enclosed tool trailer with my larger tools and use it more for larger jobs/remodels. I find the setup to be best for me.

This is similar to the setup I’m planning to use

I appreciate your thoughts and insights on this topic. If I might make a few suggestions. Maybe consider using a script to help make your message more clear and concise. You are repetitive throughout your video and some things aren't well thought out like saying your vehicles were "fun" but not giving examples of why they were "fun" or the "fun" times you had in them. 😉

I agree with your respectful critique. Out of all the handymen on youtube he is the best at being a youtuber (for his content) but those small details like professional editing, transitions, shooting can blow him up alot. Allen if your reading this maybe consider using a filming crew every once in a while at most or simply someone who can help you film and edit.

Thanks I appreciate your input! To be honest scripts aren't really my style but I can surely give it a try!😀

@@handymanjourneyPerhaps more of a build 'chest sheet' would be more appropriate. I had a similar issue when teaching English abroad; lots to cover and of end up skipping or repeating. Efficiency of words is important. At any rate, thanks for the great videos and keep up the good work. :)

For now, I'm making things work with my Toyota Sienna. There are some drawbacks but the function and simplicity is holding me over for now. The option for driving kids around when needed is a big thing for me too so I'll probably be upgrading to a transit or something similar. I'd love to see a video on the adjustments you have made to save space in your work vehicles!

Awesome! Having that functionality really helps! Here is the layout video of our transit vans! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z32mqWaKft-rbLc

I'm all about the utility bed truck. I love mine and it can do anything for a one man show. Pair it with a small trailer for larger jobs and you are golden.

Love it! Yes a utility bed is absolutely amazing!

Here in the UK every tradesman runs out of a van… trucks + trailers don’t cut it over here
@handymanjourney Жыл бұрын
Why is that? Is it a space thing?
@MuhammadAbuYasmin Жыл бұрын
@@handymanjourney It has to do with the space, the fuel economy… and the weather! Here it rains almost everyday, so a truck is not practical. Also, trucks are significantly more expensive than vans, at least over here. Lastly, the tool theft problem is huge here in the UK…although I’ve seen a couple of handymen working out of a trailer, leaving all your tools in a trailer parked on the street at night is a recipe for having all your tools, a.k.a. your livelihood, stolen from you overnight.

Checking in for day 23, I have a 2005 f150 and use the bed for tools supplies with a tonneau cover. Its worked fine for 7 years but I've been looking into a Ford transit connect. Ive heard their transmissions are very vulnerable. How has your experience been with them? Its a bummer they stopped making them but also I can't justify purchasing one for 15k when my truck works just fine and is already paid off. Idk
@handymanjourney Жыл бұрын
Ya, they are expensive. We have had great luck this far with our transits! Hopefully it continues that way!

Are small vans commercial tags ...I think commercial tags are more expensive???
@handymanjourney Жыл бұрын
Cars just have regular tags but we do have commercial Auto insurance as the vehicles have logos on them
