What's the best choice for user friendly, bedroom looping where creativity is the focus and live performances aren't really much of a concern? I'm looking to get a looper that will open up creative possibilities for songwriting.
@brentbrownmusic Жыл бұрын
I personally have been most inspired creatively by the RC-505 Mk2. It will still take some learning. But if it’s too basic with no fx and options, there also isn’t much room to grow. The faders, input fx, track fx, and visual feedback is incredible on the thing. But take my words with a grain of salt and do some research before deciding on anything.
@daveyboyd784 Жыл бұрын
@@brentbrownmusic Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I definitely understand what you mean about something being too basic, I'm not planning on going with a bare-bones, entry level unit even though I'm new to looping. Having said this, I do have a Boss Katana MK 2 amp and this gives me access to the Boss Tone Studio which has quite a bit to offer from what I understand. I haven't got the chance to check that out yet since I just got the amp pretty recently, but I suspect that I'll be covered for the most part on fx. I still want a looper with features though, I'd like to have something that offers more than a super basic, one pedal stomp box for sure.

What do u consider cheap? and send me a link to a Ed Sheeran video performing a song u wish u emulate. I can see what all he does
@@Adimurai486 Well, going for the capabilities of Ed Sheeran's custom Chewy looper, there's nothing that can handle all of his tricks in that price range. If you can find a used RC-30 and add an extension ctrl click; That's probably your best bet.

Hi I’m a guitarist that also plays a little bass and keyboard, who’s trying to get into looping and was wondering if I should just jump straight into the deep end and buy the RC 600. I’m the type of guy that loves to fiddle with new equipment, read the manual, and learn the ins and outs of everything. Plus I’m a buy it for life kind of person who likes to buy something once instead of replacing it over and over down the line, unless absolutely necessary. Would you recommend the 600 or is it truly too complicated for a beginner? Or would the 500 be more than enough to use for most loopers? I know some people who just stick to the 5 or 10r.

@brentbrownmusic2 жыл бұрын
What do u mean exactly by edit?
@demiansims7282 жыл бұрын
@@brentbrownmusic Yeah I guess by edit I mean overdub on an already existing loop. So let’s say you have all three loops going. On one loop, you want to create a completely different part but keep the first one and be able to switch between the 2 parts. So multiple parts per loop that you can toggle between. Is that possible?

Thank you for making this video! The only thing I have to ask is, of the newest BOSS Flagship loopers (505mkII/RC600), I saw other review videos that showed that sometimes the units can randomly glitch the audio into an uncontrollable glitch mess. Do you know how prevalent that was on the units that were released, and/or if the current firmware is stable and non-glitchy?
@brentbrownmusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I’m not sponsored by them, so this is personal experience. The latest update is by far the best. I no longer get glitch messes, but I still overload it sometimes and have to reset. It’s just so awesome for the EQ’s and FX that I’ve just dealt with anything I had to.

Hi Why would you advice a 505 MK2 for someone playing keys instead of a 600 🤔 ? The point of having a pedal instant of a handy looper is to keep our hand free to play instruments. I try looking it up broadly. But it’s going to require checking out the specs of each particular pedal u could be interested in. Some of the newer loopers with more features will have an SD card slot for expanded memory. Hoping that helps!

Thanks for the video. I have both the RC-600 and the 505 MK2. I’m mostly a guitarist and use a footswitch on the 505 assigned to “rec current track” that makes for hands free recording when I need it. Controlling loops and FX with hands once they are recorded is super fun on the 505. However my RC-600 pedalboard is definitely a more compact and portable set up. I’ve gigged all summer switching between the two set ups. I really have to decide to commit to one or the other though. As you know with looping muscle memory is really important
@brentbrownmusic2 жыл бұрын
For sure! You speak my language and u also know the most important part is muscle memory. Without knowing exactly where stuff is, it’s impossible to keep track of the parts in a song and add any good feel. I still have 2 setups rockin’, but the 600 has taken the majority of gigs due to the compactness and still awesomeness for guitarists.
@yojohnny5 Жыл бұрын
I'm a guitar player... But I like the visual clues and faders on the 505 Mk2. I think I have decided on that with a footswitch as an upgrade to my RC30 (Although I am still kind of considering the Aeros Loopstation... lol.) Decisions, decisions.

So the RC-600 is better than the Boomerang 3? I know it has lots of features, but what about verse chorus? I heard that on the RC-600 the verse and chorus need to be the same length? Is that right? That doesn't sound ideal. (But it looks awesomee otherwise) Is there anything the Boomerang 3 does better than the RC-600 or is the RC-600 better in just about every way. The reason I ask is I can buy the RC-600 for about the same price as the boomerang 3 Right now I have an RC-30 which is great but you can't do verse chorus. So I found a Pigtronix Infitinity 2 with which you can do verse chorus but it is more limited in other ways.

The rc-600 is so customizable that you can do anything on it (AKA any button can be changed to most any feature). @@CarlitoM77 No. I ended up buying a BeatBuddy and a Boomerang 3. I really like both. I saw some good deals on used equipment, so that was part of the reason. @brentbrownmusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question! It really is all personal preference, it’s easier setup to have the floor unit rc-600 and it’s nice it u are a guitarist to have floor stomps. But the faders are sweet on the tabletop 505. It really depends how much set up time u wanna have and how worth it that trade off is to you.

I'm not even a professional looper, but the obvious choice if you are primarily a vocalist is the TC Helicon VoiceLive 3 Extreme!
