What is the best Trans Am?

For me it would be one of the Special Order Paint 1972 Pontiac Trans Ams; the Revere Silver, Starlight Black or the Cardinal Red car. The Adriatic Blue Trans Am is up there too as a favorite but the color combo is a little bit too similar to a Lucerne Blue car. Gary.....thank you for these informative videos. Keep 'em coming!

Although it's not a T/A, i think the ultimate Firebird is a '68 RA II car. Pontiac missed the boat in 1970 not having the 455 for the Firebird. A round port high compression 455 with a 041 cam would have been a LS6 and Hemi killer.

A '69 RAIV or '70 RAIV. I would love to own a more affordable '71 Round Port 455 HO. I have a '70 RAIII T/A in Lucerne Blue. I think the '71 455 HO would be faster than a RAIII.

Very tough call for me. I would have to pick the 1969 Trans Am ram air IV 4 speed convertible. I know, I know, no one ordered one. Man, that would be a crazy one of one car if someone did. All of the 1969 - 1973 Trans Ams are amazing cars, but what I really like are the 1969 Firebird Ram air IV 4 speeds. No stripes or wings needed on my cars. My dream car Pontiac is a 1968 GTO Ram Air II endura delete car. Ever seen one? I've only found one picture of a Ram Air II endura delete race car. I've read only 16 built. I would love to find one. My vote is the 69 TA ram air IV, super fast and reliable.

70 RAIV 4 spd for sure. If you want to get into specifics, it would be a zero option car (including no console), white, blue interior. I don't know if such a car exists. But, I agree with you, all the 70-73 versions with RAIV, HO or SD are extremely nice. Can't really go wrong with any of them. Two things that are major downers for me though are auto trans and AC.

The 70 Rav IV TA is my all time grail. A very close second would be the 73 SD followed by a Rav IV 69 Firebird Convertible. It would come down to options on any of the above to take first place. A Brewster Green 4 speed 73 SD beats a Rav IV 70/auto but not a Lucerne Blue 4 speed Rav IV 70 tho. Power options in 70 were uncommon so a full load car may jump to the top of the queue but those may not even exist

We have done a 73 Brewster 4 spd SD and a 69 R/A IV Firebird Convt. All great cars

'70 Ram Air IV four speed in blue would be my choice overall, but i do prefer the smaller size of the '69

The 70 needs a good DE Tune to drive it on todays gas. Interior styling, and grill, I prefer the 72 Birds.
