I DO NOT MAKE A .01 OR EARN ANY MERCHANDISE BASED ON ANYTHING FEATURED IN THIS VIDEO
Buck 250 Saunter: www.knifecente...

I'm sure we've all heard of the names of these 3 knife companies... Buck, Kershaw, and Benchmade. Which one of these 3 makes the best mid level priced (between $100-$150) one? Also, I throw a curve ball at the and you will see for yourself a slip joint from an American owned company that is made in China. This knife isn't even a 1/3 the cost of the least expensive American and I personally feel that it is just as solid.

If I am wearing something like chinos I will tend to carry my Proper. If I am wearing jeans I will usually throw my 112 custom in my pocket. I do have a Duke headed my way that might replace the 112 for the pocket.

I have been carrying it for the past 2 weeks and there isn't a slipjoint that is more useful for every day tasks I can think of.... For real the long thin clip point blade is perfect for almost everything.

Proper is my favorite, love the overall look of the knife. It's too bad I think BM has discontinued it.

That's crazy! I would have thought that the proper would have done well for them, but maybe not. Well at least I have mine before prices skyrocket....

I love my Proper, and man I can put a wicked sharp edge so easy on it! It’s a knife my dad would have loved, so when I carry mine it makes me think of him.

In my own opinion we really need to get to the point that we are willing to pay just a little more for American manufacturing, whether it be pocket knives or any other gadgets. I know there will be a lot of opinion on the other side of this, but I have found if I just save up a little longer I can afford to keep my business in America. Just food for thought.

I understand what you are saying and Totally agree, but only if it is worth it because in my opinion, the quality control in a lot of American knives has been atrocious. Especially when it comes to Buck. They have the worst Q.C. and customer service that I have experienced, EVER. I have returned 6 or 7 Stockman knives Is because of q c issues. However, I cannot bring myself to make a video trashing them because of the nostalgia. My grandfather, my father have always been buck knife guys. I wanted to be a buck knife guy, but I can't, they're mostly horrible. Only American made knives that are worth anything are more than $100 and sometimes a lot more than $100. Then i feel that we are getting inferior steel compared to European or Asian companies (in the same price range). I think a lot of American companies are resting on their laurels and getting lazy. Assuming that we are gonna buy them just because they're American, which, unfortunately, is what happens.

@@bladesandbows1521Nice knife overview & I agree 100% 👍 Don't think I'd pay the going rate for any of these three (or a Case for that matter) honestly, but Chicago Knife Works had the Kershaw for around $70 last I knew, which seems like a good price... My experience with Buck is limited, but terrible; @cutlerynovice and others have had bad experiences as well... I had an issue with one of their cheaper import knife sets and wanted to test their service department. I was literally told "you get what you pay for" by them despite their Forever Warranty, which as it was explained to me only covers out of the box defects, not ones that happen if you EVER actually use the knife and anything goes wrong...😳😠🔥👎 Hopefully, they treat people who buy their pricier stuff better, but I was shocked how little interest they showed in being helpful .. Their QC is indeed suspect, their blades are often poorly ground & not sharp, and value for the money is also poor IMO. I looked at the 110 Autos when they were new, and was appalled at the slop and wobble in the lockup.... unexcusable on a $150 knife; SOGs at half the price open way better and are tighter, easier working knives thst are actually worth buying.... Maybe we'll see Buck and Case step their game back up if enough people sound off, but I'm not holding my breath... Hope you and your family are well & have a great holiday....thanks for the content 👍🙂

I was just rereading comments on some of my videos and I tapped on your comment to reply. But then I realized that I wrote a very similar post almost exactly a year ago. I have seen nothing but American “quality” get worse in that year

Without question Great Eastern cutlery slip joints are the best knives I own Boker Solingen Germany Castle burg knives a close 2nd. Benchmade or woke made no way I will never support a business that supports the radical left and destroys firearms for the Oregon Police.

GEC are premium , I own nearly forty of them, I also own three benchmade and I think they are the most over rated brand out there , the proper has the worst snap and blade profile you can find in a folder

Just never could find it in my heart to separate myself with the money for great Eastern and there’s never any available unless you overpay for them. I agree benchmade is way overrated, but my proper snaps like a champ and is a great knife.
