What c rating n mah battery would you recommend for a kaiju 4s,6s, truck? N good run time.?
@ubreakitirepairit35692 жыл бұрын
If you listened to the video then you'd know to work backwards from what the ESC's max draw is and then give 30% head room. Or you could simply check the Kaiju owners manual.

How do I find out how many amps my system is pulling ?
@RCexplained4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris. You can measure the current using a watt meter or using an esc that has data logging capability. For rc cars it's easiest using an esc with data logging capability otherwise a data log meter would have to be used.

thanks. I would appreciate it if you could test the performance of the swollen battery vs normal battery.
@RCexplained3 жыл бұрын
Hello, The performance of a swollen battery would depend on the internal resistance of the cells inside. If you record the internal resistance of the battery when new compared to when swollen, this will be the difference in performance. A swollen battery can have minor performance loss or significant performance loss.

Pls I would like to know how to Calculate the c rating of a battery.. Am building a battery pack for my Rc airplane using a laptop battery li-ion batteries to be presided,data's given on the battery are 3.7v 2500mah.no C rating on it, so I would like to know how to get the C rating...Please
@RCexplained3 жыл бұрын
Place the battery on a charger to get an internal resistance measurement. You can then use this value to calculate heat output of your cells at a certain current draw.

I have the Graphene panther that's rated 75C and 6000mah. I would be at 450A continuous? what if I 2p or 3p run in parallel? does that increase or improve the continuous rating?

yes, then you would be increasing the capacity to 12000 or 18000 and making the same calculation

I got a plane with an ESC needing 80 amps, they suggest using 4000mAh with at least 35C, which would be 140 amps. Now what I wanna use is a 7000mAh with 25C, which would be 175 amps. This should work, right? I know its heavier, but I would like a longer flight time.

yes you describe the maximum current that a battery can provide but what about the time? I'm mean the battery can give you +300A but for how long in this case
@RCexplained5 жыл бұрын
The focus in this video was the maximum continuous current. The battery will sustain this for the duration of its capacity. This is what we define as continuous. Peak current that the battery outputs really doesn't help you select a battery. What makes you interested in the peak output of the battery pack?
@piposito1505 жыл бұрын
@@RCexplained knowing how much time will it last in the air. I found a formula that seems pretty accurate just divide de battery capacity (Ah) between the amps demanded (A) will give you the time in hours x 60 and you get the time in minutes that you can sustain your quadcopter in the air. for my case

@RCexplained3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bobby, the ESC typically fails when the FETs get too hot from pushing too much current through them. Or when the Caps fail due to excessive ripple voltage. Checking the temperature in these areas of the ESC will tell you if the ESC is being pushed to the limits. Keep the ESC within temp specs and you should be good.

Hi Ryan, are these c rating correlated with flight time? I assume the higher c rating, the longer you can fly your drone

No, C rating does not directly impact run time. mAh is related to run time.

Love your videos! have a 2300kv motor and a 40 amp ESC. The battery I wish to purchase is 1000mAH and has a C rating of 20. The voltage is 11.4V. I have calculated the continuous discharge is 20A. Will this work with the 40 amp ESC?
@RCexplained4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, How much power are you going to be drawing from the 2300kv motor? If your ESC is rated for 40A, my recommendation is to get a battery that can atleast comfortably dump 40A. Your battery will be pushed hard if you load your motor to half the rating of the ESC.

@@RCexplained Ok thanks a lot! Does it actually matter how many amps ESC I use? As therefore I can use the 20A continuous current from the battery.
@RCexplained4 жыл бұрын
Yes it would since it's all dependent on what your your motor will draw based on the load that it must withstand. If you put a large prop on the motor, it could need 60A to turn it at the RPM it's spec'd at. If the motor, esc and battery were rated between 20-40A, they would all be significantly at risk of failure. If your system is only going to pull 10A then you are good with a 20A continuous rated battery and 40A esc. You need to start at the load placed on the motor. If the load is going to demand 40A, your motor must be capable of that or preferably more. Next your esc must be rated for 40A or preferably more to be able to supply the demand of the motor. And lastly the continuous current rating of the battery must be more than the 40A and preferably more.
