I love Mr Lakhani because he speaks from the heart. He shows love for humanity. Even though I am not a Hindu I think what he says makes a lot of sense. First of all Hinduism word does not exist for Hindus. It is "Sanatana Dharma" which means Eternal Religion. The word Hinduism was created by "others" calling the natives as residents of Indus River.... So, Santana Dharma has scriptures such as the Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, rules of Manu, prayers books to GOD, rituals, etc.... Therefore, Hinduism or SD cannot be philosophy ! It is an ancient religion Monotheistic as well as pluralistic (Different ways to Same One Universal GOD). God is without Form and has infinite accepted and authorized Forms. Hinduism or SD, Jainism and Buddhism are Dharmic religions and Chrislam & judaism are Abrahamic religions !!! Is that clear ?

CONCEPT OF GOD IN HINDUISM The most popular among the Aryan religions is Hinduism. Hindu is actually a Persian word which stands for the inhabitants of the region beyond the Indus Valley. However in common parlance Hinduism is a blanket term for an assortment of religious beliefs, most of whom are based on the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Bhagwad Geeta. Common Concept of God in Hinduism : Hinduism is commonly perceived as a polytheistic religion. Indeed, most Hindus would attest to this, by professing belief in a multitude of Gods. Some Hindus believe in the system of three God while Some Hindus actually believe in the existence of thirty-three crore i.e. 330 million Gods. However learned Hindus who are well versed with their scriptures insist that a Hindu should believe in and worship only one God. The major difference between the Hindu and the Muslim perception of God is the common Hindus belief in the philosophy of Pantheism. Pantheism considers everything, living and non-living to be divine and sacred. The Hindus therefore consider the trees, the sun, the moon, the animals and even the human beings as manifestations of God. For the common Hindu, everything is God. Islam, on the contrary, exhorts man to consider himself and his surroundings as examples of divine creation rather than as divinity itself. Muslims therefore believe that everything is Gods i.e. God with an apostrophe s. In other words we believe that everything belongs to God. The trees, the Sun , the Moon and everthing in this (Universe belong to God.) Thus the major difference between the Hindu and the Muslim beliefs is difference of the apostrophe s. The Hindus says everything is God. The Muslim says everything is Gods, i.e. God with an apostrophe s. The Holy Quran says : Come to common terms as between us and you.The first common term is that we worship none but Allah. The first common term is "that we worship none but Allah". So let us try and find commonality by analysing both Hindu and Islamic scriptures. Bhagwad Geeta The most popular among all the Hindu scriptures is the Bhagwad Geeta. Consider the following verse from the Geeta : Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures. [Bhagwad Geeta chapter 7 verse 20 (B.G. 7:20)] The Geeta is referring to people who are materialistic and therefore worship demigods i.e. besides the True God. Upanishads: The upanishads are also considered sacred scriptures by the Hindus. Consider the following verses from the Upanishads : i) Ekam evaditiyam "He is One only without a second" [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1] 1 ii) Consider again, the following verses from the Upanishads : Na casya kasuj janita na cadhipah. "Of Him there are neither parents nor Lord" [Svetasavatara Upanishad 6,9] [ 2 part II page 263.] iii) Consider the following verses from the Upanishads : Na tasya pratima asti (There is no likeness of Him.) [Svetasvatara Upanishad chapter 4:19] Nainam urdhvam na tiryancam na madhye na parijagrabhat na tasy pratime asti yasya nama mahad yasah. 3 "There is no likeness of Him whose name is great glory". 3 [The principal Upanishad by S. Radhakrishnan pg 736 & 737] [Sacred Books of the East, volume 15, the Upanishad part II page no 253] Compare the above verses with the following verses of the Holy Quran And there is none like unto Him. [Holy Quran , 112:4] There is nothing whatever like unto Him. [Holy Quran ,42:11] iv) The following verses from the Upanishad allude to the inability of Man to imagine God in a particular form : "Na samdrse tisthati rupam asya, na caksusa pasyati kas canaiam. Hrda hrdistham manasa ya enam, evam vidur amrtas te bhavanti". "His form is not to be seen; no one sees Him with the eye. Those who through heart and mind know Him as abiding in the heart become immortal". [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:20] 4 The Holy Quran refers to this aspect in the following verse: No vision can grasp Him But His grasp is over All vision: He is Above all comprehension,Yet is acquainted with all things. [Holy Quran 6:103] The Vedas Vedas are considered the most sacred amongst all the Hindu scriptures. There are 4 main vedas. Rig Ved, Yajur Ved, Sam Ved and AtharvaVed. 1. Yajur Ved i) Consider the following verses from the Yajur ved : Na tasya pratima asti "There is no image of Him" 5 [Yajurved 32 : 3] It further says as He is unborn, He deserves our worship. There is no image of Him whose glory verily is great. He sustains within Himself all luminous objects like the Sun etc. May He not harm me, this is my prayer. As He is unborn, He deserves our worship [The Yajurveda by Devi Chand M. A. pg 377] ii) He is bodyless and pure. Is mentioned in Yajurved 40 : 8: He hath attained unto the Bright, Bodiless, Woundless, Sinewless, the pure which evil hath not pierced. Far-sighted, wise, encompassing, he self-existent hath prescribed aims, as propriety demands, unto the Everlasting Years. [Yajurved 40 : 8] [Yajurveda samhita by Ralph I. H. Griffith pg 538] iii) It is also mentioned in the Yajur Veda :- Andhatama pravishanti ye asambhuti mupaste "They enter darkness, those who worship natural things", for example air, water, fire etc "They sink deeper in darkness those who worship sambhuti Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol, etc". [Yajurved 40 : 9] 7 iv) It also mentions a prayer stating "Lead us to the good path and remove the sin that makes us stray and wander" [Yajurveda chapter 40 :16] 8 2. Atharva ved Consider the following verses from Atharva ved :- i) Dev maha osi "God is verily great" [Atharvaveda 20 58 :3] Verily, Surya, thou art great; truly, aditya, thou art great. As thou art great indeed thy greatness is admire: yea, verily, great art thou,O God. (Atharveda Samhiti vol 2 William Dmight Whitney pg 910) A similar message is given in Quran in Surah Rad : He is the Great, the most High. [The Holy Quran 13 :9] 3. Rig Ved i) The oldest of all the vedas is Rig veda. It is also the one considered most sacred by the Hindus. The Rig Ved states that "Sages (learned Priests) call one God by many names". [Rigveda 1:164:46)] ii) The Rigveda gives no less than 33 different attributes to Almighty God, Many of these are mentioned in Rigveda Book 2 hymn 1 Amongst the various attributes given in Rigveda, one of the beautiful attributes! Mentioned in Rigveda Subh II verse 3 for Almighty God is Brahma. Brahma means The Creator. Translated into Arabic this word it means Khaliq. Muslims can have no objection if Almighty God is referred to as Khaliq or Creator or Brahma. However Muslims definitely do not subscribe to the view that Brahma is Almighty God who has four heads (nauzubillah), Muslims take strong exceptation to it. Describing Almighty God in anthropomorphic terms also goes against the following verse of Yajurveda : Na tasya Pratima asti (There is no image of Him) [Yajur Ved 32 : 3] Another beautiful attribute mentioned in the Rigveda Book II hymn 1 verse 3 (R.V. 2:1:3) is Vishnu. Vishnu means The Sustainer. Translated into Arabic it means Rabb. Again, Muslims can have no objection if Almighty God is referred to as Rabb or Sustainer or Vishnu. But the popular image of Vishnu among Hindus is that of a God who has four arms, with one of the right arms holding the Chakra ie a discus and one of the left arms holding a conch shell, riding a bird or reclining on a snake couch. Muslims can never accept any image of God. As mentioned earlier this also goes against Yajurveda chatper 40 verse 19. iii) Consider the following verses from the Rigved: Ma chidanyadvi shansata O friends, do not worship anybody but Him, the Divine One. [Rigveda Book 8 :1:1] 10 [Rigveda samhiti vol ix, pg 1 and 2 by swami Satyaprakash Sarasvati and satyakam Vidhya Lankar] iv) The wise yogis concentrate their minds; and concentrate their thought as well in the Supreme Reality, which is Omnipresent, Great and Omniscient. He alone, knowing their functions, assigns to the sense organs their respective tasks. Verily, great is the glory of to Divine Creator. [Rigveda 5:81] 11 [Rigveda Samhiti volume 6 page 1802 and 1803 by Swami SatyaPrakash Saraswati and Satyakam Vidhyalanka] Brahma Sutra of Hindu Vedanta: The Brahma Sutra of Hindu Vedanta is: Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan "There is only one God, not the second; not at all, not at all, not in the least bit". Thus only a dispassionate study of the Hindu scriptures can help one understand the concept of God in Hinduism.

I am little bit surprised that no clear explanation regarding Swaguna or Sakar form of God has been given here by Mr Lakhani. He repeatedly uttered that very Word. Swaguna means which possess Guna or power or energy. .Our Universe (Apar Brahmand or Khand Brahmand) due to the collective will power or after attaining a particular time period, was created from the Param Brahmand. At that time there was a huge sound called it by Hindu as "Nada Dhani" or by science as "Big Bang". From this point of time two or more than two forces are evolved. Those are " Raja. Tama & Satva gunas or forces Meaning thereby "Expanssive, Contractive & Rotational forces" . Swaguna Brahma are dealt with these forces & conception of swakar form of God have come afterwards. Swakar form of God is a manifestation of one's own eternal thought. Because of that same God looks different in different places in India.

***** Bro u seem intellectual. But why these paragraphs on evolution? That's so unlike u bro. Self-contradictory. Of course evolution is true. There is no doubt at all. Yes, there are many things remain to be discovered and explored but then that doesn't mean one can "just like that" deny evolution. If a person denied the existence of God, he could be right or he could be wrong. Coz it's attributed to one's faith and belief only. However, if one denied Evolution, a very strong hardcore incorrigible evidence is invariably sought for. One can't simply, easily and blindly repudiate the theory of evolution which promulgated after a vigorous and painstaking researches and investigations of not just Darwin but countless other scientists as well.

I’m probably late in my comment (2 years late), but I wanted to point out something. Let’s say all god’s are man made. With what are we left with? Atheism. To believe in atheism requires more faith than believing in monotheism or polytheism. The proof for that is yourself. You are not just meat bones and blood. Your body can’t exist without a supreme intelligence because it’s toooo complex to be made all by itself with no intellect intervention at all. That’s 1 out of many reasons why atheism requires more faith than theism.

Nava vidha bhakthi is a great unique concept only recognised by Hinduism. Saakhyam like gopikaas, daasyam like hanuman, paadasevanam like Mahalakshmi, and pandavaas, sravanam or listening to greatness of his deeds (Satsangh), keertanam like the ISKON devotees, Thyagaraja etc, smaranam or thinking about God, archanam or offering prayers, vandanam or offering salutations, atmanivedanam or surrender. In addition, (unknown) fear of God like in Ravana or kamsa or asuras and abrahamic religions also helped them realise Godliness. Potana bhagavatham in telugu have very good poetry regarding the nine forms of bhakthi, and how each and every one had attained the God.

Hinduism, one of the oldest and most diverse religions in the world, faces numerous challenges today, particularly in the globalized world where it is often misunderstood, misrepresented, or diluted. A major issue is the whitewashing of Hinduism, particularly in the West, where its identity is simplified and distorted to appeal to a Western audience. Whitewashing involves stripping Hinduism of its cultural, ritualistic, and doctrinal aspects, leaving behind a sanitized version that focuses only on its spiritual and philosophical elements. Practices such as yoga, meditation, and mantras are frequently presented as secular tools for wellness, personal growth, or stress relief, devoid of their deep spiritual roots in Hindu concepts like dharma, karma, and moksha. Hindu deities are also misrepresented, often depicted in a superficial manner without addressing their symbolic meanings or their roles in Hindu mythology. Moreover, Hinduism is sometimes presented not as a religion with specific cultural and ritual practices, but as a vague "spiritual path," which excludes essential elements like ritual purity, caste (varna) systems, and temple worship. This whitewashed portrayal leads to cultural erasure, where Hinduism is reduced to a non-threatening, abstract form of spirituality, completely ignoring the complexity and depth of its ritualistic and societal roles. Another major challenge Hinduism faces is the decline in scholarly engagement and the lack of an organized defense of its intellectual and cultural heritage. Unlike other world religions, Hinduism lacks centralized institutions that focus on the study and defense of its philosophies, traditions, and practices. The impact of colonialism, particularly British colonial rule, undermined traditional Hindu scholarship, such as the gurukul system, and marginalized Vedic studies. The destruction of institutions and the portrayal of Hinduism as "primitive" or "superstitious" discouraged the engagement with its complex theological and philosophical frameworks. Additionally, the absence of traditional Sanskrit education and the fragmented nature of Hindu scholarship contribute to the lack of a unified voice in global academic or public discussions. While Islam, for example, benefits from centralized institutions like Al-Azhar, which provide a strong defense against criticism, Hinduism lacks such a unified platform. As a result, when faced with criticism, Hinduism's responses are often emotional or defensive, lacking the intellectual rigor needed to engage in complex debates. There are few public intellectuals within the Hindu community who actively defend the religion, and the reluctance to engage in intellectual debate, often due to a preference for inward spiritual practice, allows misconceptions about Hinduism to go unchallenged. The absence of a debate culture within many Hindu communities further exacerbates this issue, as issues and criticisms are not addressed directly. The erosion of traditional practices within Hinduism is another critical challenge, particularly in urbanized or Westernized communities. Urbanization, modernization, and secularism have weakened the adherence to traditional rituals such as puja, yajnas, and temple worship. In the West, a secular, Westernized version of Hinduism, which emphasizes personal spirituality over communal rituals, has gained traction, further diminishing the importance of traditional practices. Ritual purity, social norms surrounding caste distinctions, and food habits, which are integral to many Hindu traditions, are also often downplayed or abandoned in modern settings. Additionally, the loss of connection to sacred texts like the Vedas, Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita, due to the decline in Sanskrit education, has led to a further disconnection from Hinduism's intellectual and cultural foundation. The reform movements that arose during British colonial rule, which sought to make Hinduism more palatable to Western sensibilities, also contributed to this erosion. These movements emphasized a spiritual but non-ritualistic version of Hinduism, presenting it as universal and detached from its cultural practices. While these reforms aimed at modernizing Hinduism, they diminished its unique cultural identity and distanced it from the very practices that make it distinct. In comparison to Hinduism, Islam has been more successful in maintaining an intellectual defense and scholarly engagement in the global public sphere. Islam benefits from centralized institutions, such as Al-Azhar University, which provide a unified voice and authoritative defense against criticism. Additionally, Islam has a strong intellectual tradition that actively engages in public debates, both within the religion and with external critics, ensuring that misconceptions are addressed head-on. The Muslim community has also successfully used media platforms to advocate for their religion and counter misrepresentations. In contrast, Hinduism lacks such a centralized authority or media strategy, making it more vulnerable to criticism and misrepresentation. To address these challenges, Hinduism must focus on reviving scholarship by establishing globally recognized institutions for the study of Vedic literature, Sanskrit, and Hindu philosophy. Engaging more actively in public discourse is also essential, with the creation of public intellectuals who can represent Hinduism in global academic and media forums. There is also a need for debate and dialogue strategies to address common misconceptions about Hinduism’s practices and beliefs. Using modern platforms like social media to combat misrepresentation and spread accurate information is another important step forward. Additionally, there should be a renewed emphasis on preserving and promoting traditional practices, including rituals, temple worship, and the study of sacred texts, especially in urbanized or Westernized communities. Supporting the teaching of Sanskrit and encouraging younger generations to engage with Hindu scriptures will also help strengthen the cultural and spiritual heritage of Hinduism. In conclusion, Hinduism faces significant challenges in the modern world, including the whitewashing of its practices in the West, the decline in scholarly engagement, the erosion of traditional practices, and the lack of an active defense against criticism. Unlike religions such as Islam, Hinduism lacks a centralized authority or a coherent media strategy to defend its intellectual and cultural heritage. To ensure its continued relevance and authenticity, Hinduism must work towards revitalizing scholarship, engaging more actively in public debates, and preserving its traditions. By addressing these challenges, Hinduism can overcome the misrepresentations it faces and ensure that its rich spiritual and cultural heritage is accurately represented in the global conversation.

He says in exodus: do not make image of anything in heaven, earth,or beneath earth n bow to them or worship as god...ofcouse if anyone seek truth about god he would follow his concept of god

In Christianity, we are not taught to fear our Lord. The word " fear Lord" appears in the Bible, but it is used in connotation with the idea of showing profound reverence and awe toward the Lord. It doesn't mean God is someone who we should fear because of His power. I am not sure how this word is interpreted in Judaism and Islam. In conclusion, this word is not to be taken in the literal sense.

Basically, in Hindu culture, God is referred to anything & everything that is praiseworthy & helps uplifting of humanity to better life experience (to be superhuman, as in Godly himself). So God is always to be experienced within yourself. For that your karma & perceptions should be widen enough beyond your physical senses such that you can have the experience sometime in life. Simply putting, God is an ultimate experience within a human being. Ways adopted can be as many as different as all the beings that exist. All who pray to idols & all those who don't, these are just ways they have chosen as per their likings. Being Hindu itself means accepting the diversity, taking liberty to follow diverse n unique paths as per each individual choice, but leading to common goal I.e. Super Human Experience.

So in sanatan dharma ther is no wrong in following any path like one can follow abrahamic concept that GOD IS ONE AND WITHOUT FORM as said in veda.. or someone can fllw GOD IS ONE WITH MANY FORM.. so there is no wrong in following any path??

he has good knowledge and good clarification but he had not understand it owen self , but he not believe in it ., In islam religion the mighty god is could not be compared by the things like universe ,animals living and nonliving things and etc , because it is created by the God,. uncomfortable To created , because he is creator. That's why we worshipping him na . You could not describe to multi God without owen thinking power , whenever you describe the multi God you should have to take the help of properties Muhammad (peace be upon him) and and Quran , otherwise you could not explain the God , And you say the god have shape then you saw him and love him more , sir it is not philosophy class where Hinduism is also mentioned the concept of God "na tasya pratima Asti , na jaideep na jani pa ", this is Excel concept of God in Hinduism there is no statue, sculpture, photo ,picture , for any kind of shape of multiple . You should have clarified answer of God , you should read biography means "hadees" in Islam you should clarify the total Islam and concept of God also . Sir I respect your knowledge , appreciating I could have understand battery our blessings always with you 😊😊😇😇

Dear i want to clear one thing that in Islam Allah is not a person or personality. And Allah is beyond any form that even you think,Allah is everywhere and in everything.Simply you can't imagine because Allah is beyond your imagination. In Quran , clearly mentioned that Allah is beyond your thinking, your praise or even your hatered. And if you really want to know about Allah then you must read his 99 names ,where you get little idea, that Allah is the one which is also stated in Hinduism scriptures. That the creator of all creation is one.

In early Hindu tradition, there was no God concept. It had and still has Brahman and Atman. God entered later in the Hindu tradition. In the Upanishads, God is subordinate to Brahman. Brahman is not god. Brahman is in everything, both living and non-living -- is formless, invisible, indivisible, omnipotent, omnipresent. For me, I don't need the god concept to relate to Brahman. Therefore, I don't believe in god.

your minds are too naive. Do you know about projections ? Suppose we live in 2d world, and there is 3d object and we project that 3D object onto a 2-dimensional paper. So, you can understand the 3d object from its 2d image. But that's the beginning, later on, when you develop the capability to see 3d object, you realize the ultimate truth. Now, use the same logic, and understand, what will happen, when you try to project infinity into a finite world ? You first understand the finite, so that later on you can appreciate the infinity and my friend, there is so many ways to reach infinity. Isn't it logical, why there should only be one way(finite) to reach infinity ? In fact, there should be infinite ways to reach/understand infinity. God can presents himself to us in infinite ways, he is not sitting some where and trying to control us. He wants to be understood and loved.

People of Muslim faiths are trying to convince themselves since only some years after Christ that God is one and their prophet is the sole messenger...but this Hindus have already done so thousands of years before Christ and we are in an evolutionary process.. we are living with our times...not like the islamists who are like FROGS in a well...

Let me clear your confusion regarding Hinduism .first of all there is no god in Hinduism a personality like god whose mood change with respect to time .sometimes angry sometimes merciful .now man ki BAAT .did you ever read core text of Hinduism called Upanishads .Hinduism talks only about infinite field of awareness called brahm in Sanskrit or Brahman in English.don't confuse with brahmin caste or four headed Brahma. I am taking about Brahman literal meaning just vast or infinity which is pure consciousness pure existence pure Bliss .it is nondual which means there is nothing apart from it .Brahman is not a man or woman or a noun or a thing .it is all pervading conscious energy and eternal and nondual .Brahman itself appears as universe a 3 dimensional world in space and time which called as Maya .Maya meaning temporary material reality .maya is nothing but projection of brahm itself.so called Hindu gods are just manifested version of consciousness because it is very difficult to realize Brahman for every one .we are also that same and one nondual pure consciousness
