What is the Curse of The Black Sun? Many of you will have heard about the curse of the black sun and it's place in the world, but I doubt you will know everything about this witcher curse of the black sun. In this video I explain to you about the witcher curse of the black sun, syanna, I will explain how the curse of the black sun works, geralt's experiences with the curse of the black sun. I also go into how Geralt meets Syanna and Renfri, two people associated with the curse of the black sun.

@@mball6676 The thing is that the massacre was never going to happen. Renfri says herself when she is about to die. The overall message of this tale is that whenever you decide to choose between lesser and greater evil, even if your intentions are noble, evil will inevitably succeed. That's why Geralt has Renfri's brooch on his steel sword, so that every time he unsheathes it he will be reminded to not choose between evils.

This is one of my favorite parts of the Witcher universe. Where you arent sure if its really a curse or humans dehumanizing children. It could be either or both. Always wondered if Ciri had accepted the destructive lure of her magic instead of renouncing it in the desert, if Ciri would have been Lilith. Theres a lot of allusions to being the next Falka in that section. I always played Geralt as motivated to save Syanna because of failing with Renfri.

Good video. A small counter-point to your "coincidence in a magical universe" point. The fact that some of these girls have abilities or mutations can actually be a coincidence, statistically a few of them would have had abilities even if they were born at high noon under a soft spring sun. Anyway, like you said, a lot of it is self-fulfilling prophecy.

I wish I found this comment two years ago. The Black Sun curse is well rooted, because of the Conjunction of Spheres. The Last Wish discusses the curse more than the game. We're left to speculate Syanna's condition in Blood and Wine, because of the lack of context. hmph.

Lilit for the main antagonist of the Witcher 4, I mean after beating the wild hunt how can project cd red step it up from them and higher vampires. Human extinction, evil goddess and the cursed girls could be the main bosses of the game. Some could be mutated monstrosities anothers like Siana just manipulative and psychotic. Sounds good to me

@@WitcherGeorge I guess you forgot to mention that the common mutation for all princesses was probably full resistance to magic. This gives magic an additional incentive to antagonize the princesses, who thus had a natural predisposition to be their kryptonite.

Cristi Crs the wish is explained in the book. he wished his and Yennefer’s fates would be bound. It’s why they always bumped into each other.

Ian Moone yeah but if his wish was to bind their fate it means that they can die at the same time. What stopped the djin from killing them right there. Collapse the building on them or something. The djin can't hurt his master but he can do something tricky to get him killed, like the djin from the witcher 3 did

Ian Moone besides the wish is kinda explained in the witcher 3, not in the books. There are some theories that Geralt wished to have a child with Yen, but since they are sterile there is no way the wish can be fulfilled. Maybe that's how Geralt met Ciri in the first place. So that she will become his and Yennefer's child

Final year medical student. Horrific dreams like syanna had are not indicative of psychopathic tendencies at all. In fact she doesn't display anything to alarming until she gets fucked up by her family. You arnt born a psychopath. Psychopathy arises following abuse and neglect in the early stages of childhood and dreams have no role in that. I can't speak for the other girls but syanna case definitely appears to almost entirely be the result of maltreatment forming a self-fulfilling prophecy

@@WitcherGeorge Take into account that horrific dreams are born of fear of what the dream is about, that's the opposite of being evil. An evil child wouldn't awake screaming in terror from a nightmare, a nightmare as we would think of them would be a good dream to them. Having bad dreams and nightmares would be a sign that they are not evil and was misinterpreted as a sign that they were inflicted by an imaginary curse and therefore treated horribly so they became evil or simply just bad in the end. How one treats a child is training them for how they will behave as adults.

Still a better love story than twilight. Joke aside I don't like her or the best ending where she just gets off scot free. The knights where not the best but it's her fault the vampires attacked the city & she's just not a good person. Dettlaff's emotion & short temper is relatible to me. To be tricked like that isn't easy, especially when you lose friends from it. In his case even killing one. An short fuze & betrail can make u heartless.

The Knights were not the best? They raped her and left her for dead. Her family did that to her and in her mind...her sister took her life and never cared what happened to her. If she had raised an army to fight for her crown...the city would still have suffered...in the old days to commoners were pretty much expendable...so I can get behind her getting off scot free.

Syana never manipulated Dettlaff into attacking the city. That was entirely his choice. He chose to hurt others to coerce them into allowing him to hurt her.

I honestly prefer the magical realism angle of it. Women In the Witcher universe are only slightly better off than women in the Renaissance period. It doesn't surprise me that some bogus curse is placed upon innocent young girls in the Witcher universe sure, but if the books and the video games taught us anything it's that humans are monsters too, and to me the girls were just born in the wrong place in the wrong time, in a cruel world with sexist old men who fear women with power, and villagers who bloodlet as a cure for the common flu. Tl.dr. in the Witcher universe they make it clear that sometimes the answer is simple and In this case, I believe there isn't a curse at all. Syanna was just a disturbed child who needed help, shaped into a monster by her cruel family, her abuse by the knights, and her banishment and abandonment.
