The players should be trained to time the drop and avoid most riders. It’s surprising that some don’t seem to notice that they can do this. People at home were probably shouting, “NOW” during this episode.

what does timing have to do with riders when the counter is getting stuck vertically for infinite amount of time, as in the case of most riders that occur

@@БранимирМилошевић: With careful timing, one can reduce the chances of riding. They can't be eliminated completely, mainly because of either sticking or direct fast-dropping.

The machine should be adjusted so the slow spot in zone 2 doesn’t delay the movement of the counter. Calling it a “ghost drop” is a poor excuse for a design flaw.

Rob, sorry, but you didn't realize your timing was wrong. 2-3 second late. You could have all flat , no riders at all. So you can check how many of them you lost..

Spoiler... The winner was a real gentleman and very knowledgeable, but his technique on The Machine was ruddy awful! I imagine Ben's not allowed to advise the contestants beyond saying "Timing is everything".
