She should have thought many times before marrying him. She knew he is poligamous and it is allowed in his stature in Brunei. Also, she can be replaced anytime he wanted without any explanation or justification. Perhaps, he just wanted to have more children from different women. It is too fainful for her and her 2 young children to be separated in their early age. How did they grow up in 14 years without a mother and with only the sultan as the father? Its interesting for me that the children from the first wife are less attractive and interesting compared to the sultan’s children from the 2nd and 3rd wives. I wonder how much better things would’ve been if the sultan had just welcomed and loved his two secondary wives with greater sincerity and openness. That, and the fact that the secondary children have better DNA versus his first children simply because their parents arent related.

My ethnic group is matriarchal but we draw the line at things that are outlined in Islam because faith trumps culture. None of us have a problem with that that's why despite 3 centuries of oppression, violence and colonialism from European Christrian powers, we remain Muslims.We are southeast Asian and will continue to be. Religion of Islam is for all humans not just arabs. There is less than 10% Arabs Muslims in the entire 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide. Educate yourself.

What a heartbreaking reality, to lose their mother while still alive & well. A mere man acting like God, taking the rights of another human. This proves what money, power & the teachings of a religion will shape the way you think & make decisions. For world leaders to keep silent & still want to remain friends with such a human being, accepting his invitation to weddings & all kinds of celebration, proves that law does not apply to the rich & powerful.
