On ePLND during my prostatectomy, one small 3mm node was found with 1mm of cancer. After seeing several videos indicating the probable location of cancerous nodes, I asked for 45 Greys of nodal radiation from obturator through para-aortic. After seeing this video I now understand why it is important to treat all the nodes through the para-aortic, since the prostate drains through multiple nodal groups and paths, but also eventually upward through the para-aortic. Wonderful explanation; thank you so much.

It’s good to hear the conditions that can happen within the system gives you a better understanding of what’s happening to the body and why I really enjoyed listening to and watch this video I didn’t know much until know on lympthatic

Your initial explaination of the Lymphatic system has explained something I witnessed when I was a scrub nurse in Trauma theatre. An IV infusion had tissuesed and hadn’t been spotted until the skin in the upper arm ruptured and the clear fluids ran out of the wound. Everyone was utterly amazed as no one had ever witnessed something like this before and having spent 25 years as a registered nurse in the operating theatre I never heard of it happening again thankfully.

I didn't realise it before this video but it appears I am becoming very well informed about our lymphatic system, as a pioneer, an adventurer, whose experiences of his own lymphatic system will be the starting gate for understanding it deeply. Lymph is also a lubricating fluid for our joints where it enters our bone marrow and it travels along a path in a cyclical way that ensures every portion of the inner body is refreshed...but, as we know, it can all go very wrong...ps...this is another reason we need to avoid an arthritic menubrium which develops from a very early age,

A simple way to view it is the lymphatic system is our sewage system. It also constitutes 2/3 of the total fluid in our body so that should give one an indication of how much metabolic waste we generate and how much resources are allocated to deal with it. Eating water rich raw plant foods are the best way to keep it clean…

Thanks a ton doctor! Your explamations are very understandable from a layman perspective. My understanding is that lymph nodes filter out debris and bacteria from the lymph that is flowing through them and then this filtered lymph then can go back into the blood stream. My question is how is this debris that collects in the nodes removed from them and then from the body?

Sam, your videos are so entertaining... and educational. Curious about Lymphangiomas and lymphoceles. I just had a very large capsule (not sure what they decided to call it) drained from my abdomen (I have never had surgery). It was retroperitoneal. However, the drain was about 13cm to the left of my belly button, but when they pulled out the tube (collection still visible, but reduced and not draining), it felt like they pulled out my uterus and the lymphatic vessels in my left hip (literally) :-) One week later and I frequently feel like I have the worst 'period pain' ever! Any ideas? :) The doctor said no other patient had ever experienced such pain.

So am confused, wen they suggest lymphatic drainage massage , wouldn't it risk d tumor cells to spread more? Or is it only particular kind of tumors? Thanks

Tonsils are said to store info about pathogens which have entered through the mouth and send the info throughout the immune system. It's apparently why babies want to put everything in their mouths. It's an important part of the immune system building process and continues throughout life. So removing them is a really stupid idea.
