Useless class if you’re not going to become a lawyer

Same here. My class claims to be commercial law but seems like general law to me lmao I did not sign up for this.

Literally, I wish this damn $100 textbook I have would be as clear as this video was

What this misses is the mailbox rules requires that the offeror either expressly or impliedly authorizes a means of acceptance, then if the offeree uses that method or a faster method then the acceptance is effective when dispatched. This video misses a critical points of the application of the mailbox rule.

Hello thank you for this video, would you know if emails are considered as legal for correspondence instead of mailing??
@PANTYEATR16 жыл бұрын
this is a mess of a rule, especially if the mail is lost. there's no evidence that the accepted offer was actually sent on the 9th unless it was sent certified. e-mails could work if the message is flagged for being read...then again proving who reads the email would be a issue. thanks for the video

Hello, Is the Mailbox rule broadly applicable or only under the UCC?
@USLawEssentials5 жыл бұрын
IS, the mailbox rule predates the UCC. So the former, not the latter.

Hi, thank you so much for posting this video, for some reason the images helped me understand the rule much better . I have a question for you, if acceptance is only effective as soon as offer is sent/dispatch, then can you pls explain the exception they have about not using the mailbox rule to beat an option? { our professor told us this in class- but I'm still a bit confused about it } thank you!

Hi Mirna, I'm not sure what is meant by "beat an option". But in most states option contracts are not subject to the mailbox rule. That is, in most states an acceptance of an option contract is only effective when it is received - - not from the moment that it is sent.
