3:57 "What is the Matrix?" *He turns the TV OFF and say: "Control..." This scene tells much more than it seems to...

Good point, in the next movie there's a conversation where Neo gives "we can turn them off if we wanted too" as the difference between machines that are good and machines that are bad.

This is one of my favorite scenes from The Matrix. It is evident that Morpehus is somewhat annoyed that Neo hasn't yet figured out what is happening as of yet. This is shown by his demeanor when he asks "Is it really so hard to believe?" after Neo asks if they're inside of a computer program. It's more evident when Neo asks "This isn't real?" to which Morephus replies "What is real, how do you define real?" Finally the cherry on the top of this scene is the look and reaction Neo has at 4:01 after Morpehus cuts off the television and says "What is the Matrix...........Control?" That is when Neo finally gets it, but it's a reality that he doesn't want to be real. Truly great scene!

This movie is such a turn on. Probably one of the best scripts.

Before anyone says the 'human as battery' thing doesn't make physical sense, it's actually a dumbed down explanation from the original script where (more believably) humans are being used as a massive computational network.
@brianmerritt54107 жыл бұрын
Funny, I came down here to say "before anyone says (your comment), it was a change made because back in the 90's not everyone was as tech savvy as they are now." What I don't get is that, with the human brains being used as processors, where would the mind of the human go?
@Perepechca6 жыл бұрын
Remember the statement, that human uses only 10% of his brain? This would perfectly explane your question, that working mind needs only 10%, the rest 90% goes to needs of the machines.
@buts936 жыл бұрын
humans use 100% of their brain, where each part of brain specializes for specific function like perception, vision, hearing and so on...not all functions of brain are working at the same time, only what we need at the specific moment. statements like humans use 10 or 20 percent of their brain are outdated and they shouldnt be taken seriously.
@blackham76 жыл бұрын
Humans use 100% of their brain but not at the same time so theoretically the Machines can create a program to divide the brains resources one that the human consciousness could use and one to compute The Matrix algorithms
@gelmir73226 жыл бұрын
Well if you are hooked up to a simulation then much of the brain sector related to motor and muscular functions would be free and available. Though the computational theory would still put the minor plot hole of why the robots see that conserving limbs and legs is still necessary. They could just remove everything that will eventually atrophied from the human anatomy due to the lack of activity.

It looks like either Babylon the whore is all too hungry to feed on our souls or too eager and desperate to conceal the truth. Perhaps both, otherwise how would this movie come to be? The motives could either be to make us question why they would allow this movie to be made if what the movie tells us is true or to attract the revolutionary minded as a trap. I get the feeling that both have something to do with it, unless God himself desired to make a way of speaking to us, as he kinda did to myself through this movie.
@bryanwong52507 жыл бұрын
Does it matter? Other movies with similar agenda such as V for Vendetta has shown us the conspiracy trap laid out by the "world" as we know it. It is a choice, do you wish to be awakened? or do you wish to remain asleep in this pleasant dream?

The matrix and terminator are part of the same story. Hollywood broke it off into two separate franchises, but it was written as one story. John connors is actually neo. The agents are the terminators Sarah connors is trinity and morpheus is kyle reese.

So Man created a dense, global, artificial cloud layer to stop the machines. That requires an enormous technology doesn‘t it? Wouldn’t it be much easier and much more economical to destroy that technology with some missiles instead of enslaving all human beings which also requires an enormous technology ie the power plants and the Matrix?

With Nanotechnology at some point in the early 21st century man grew vain and narcissistic, when The Machine City known as 01 started to become more powerful and richer than humans, man grew jealous as their economy failed. So they flew swarms of fighter jets over 01 releasing Nanoparticles called "Nanites" into the atmosphere creating The Nanite Shroud. The Shroud had blocked off sunlight, and the nanite particles multiplied out of control and engulfed the whole sky worldwide.

Do you want to know what it is??? The matrix was an unpopular, niche genre, sub culture, counter culture movie from the late nineties that never gained any traction whatsoever outside of a small illicit group of habitual drug users and metal heads and in the "real world" most people were unaware of its existence and could care less "what it was" At the beginning of the movie he's offered a pill... And in sumisation that explains everything else... Including the two lackluster sequels that got bashed worse than agent smith for decades following consumption of the red pill which spawned an entire reality woken to the myth we all live inside a simulation when we could just as easily be living in an acid trip...
