50-60km JDAMSKY-ER Mach .75. 140km Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T Mach 3.9 Who hits first? Su-34 do not have variable geometry inlet ramps and their engines are _low tuned_ to achieve 700 knots in TFR. At the high altitudes of 15,000m used for maximum glide range, they are very much lacking in Ps, compared to the Su-30SM or Su-35. Which is why this- SAMbushing The Hell Duck kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIHcoHuhZtydf80 Is such a sleigh ride down the Eiger. He _has to_ get back to low level, where he can start to put G on the jet. And the missiles are moving so fast that it's six of one, half a dozen of another whether they will cut him off before he gets there. Instead, the Fullbacks come in low, pop up to 7,000m, and release with a 15-25km downrange. Numbers are better for the UMPK-1500 and especially the UMPK-500, with the aircraft carrying three of the 3,000lb bombs on the inner wing and centerline and four of the 1,100lb bombs on the mid and inner wing stations. These are the 70-80km bombs. By contrast, according to Ukrainian sources, you can sometimes see the UMPK-3000 release. The bomb blast graphic is very poor by the way. The blast bubble is enormous, especially in the wet air of fall and spring where the shock wave is visible for miles. Easily passing a kilometer in diameter as indicative of the actual destruction mechanism of the aluminum/TNT (Tritonal), high brisance, mix. It's almost a thermobaric. FAB-3000 Detonation kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZK5aXx5oNuiecU The problem with WT is that most players do not follow military tactics and are so fanatically arcade/tournament LER driven in their gameplay that things like proper weaponeering and conservation of limited smart munitions in a player bomb dump simply never enter into consideration as far as tactics and achievement of mission goals. Thus you have UMPK-3000 being used on individual vehicles for giggle factor while they would normally be reserved for employment against buried command posts and strongpoints. So that enemy unit coordination breaks down across a broad area and/or ATGM and Drone sniping on a vehicle assault is less severe. This is a horrific weapon, but it does have proper employent doctrine for those cases when it is useful.

Well SAMs seem to be less of an issue now. Since most seem to have caught their share of iskanders(production is stupidly low, and the few remaining probably just sit in Kyiv).
@xyz-hj6ul3 күн бұрын
@@VIT-ey8wo HiMADS DCA is doomed to fail sir. Short of Nuclear Nike Hercules, you are never going to win the cost exchange ratio on his Iskander, which can drop down low and come in from an offset. TBM : SAM site games with a system as slow to displace as Patriot is always going to favor the counterbattery shooter. Maybe if we had a bunch of truck mounted MEADS systems with radio datalinks and the ability to illuminate from here, shoot from waaaaay over there, you might at least conserve the system vehicles. But in truth the Soviet radio electronic combat teams would just jam it all white, as soon as it came up and started talking to itself. Comparatively, the Iskander doesn't have much activity indicator and almost always has an ADV for every launcher group of two TELs. As soon as they get a launch order it's elevate and fire before shoot and scoot, back into the bushes. I don't think they even use radar for the met survey anymore. At one time, I thought we had the FOPEN to track that kind of activity from Overhead. Not so sure anymore as the Iskander can launch, fly dogleg and then come up through the clouds on a different heading. To do hard kill BMD, you need to have air sitting ontop of the launch areas with something like a DAS to track the launch at a fairly low squint and cue a high partner to GMTI the missile truck as it's hustling for the high weeds. Then you either do BPI/API or kill the TEL. Getting the Su-34s is much the same: forward presence OCAing on their side of the FLOT or border, before they get fast and with their Su-35 escorts caught flat footed. Here, frankly, I would prefer a Blk.V Tomahawk through the HAS roof or into the revetment and that means speeding up serial build of Typhon launchers. Something which we don't have very many of, even today. Either way, the war was pretty much done and dusted when we didn't preemptively jump in with a couple SBCTs and the NATO High Readiness Force to essentially meet the Russians, tank vs. tank, at the border while tacair flowed in, behind. It's a psychology game at that point. Go ahead and come, we're here and waiting. As soon as we became reactive to Putin's first move it became a nuke vs. train problem of getting enough armor, far enough forward, to make a speedbump fight of it, bunching their road columns while protecting enough EAF airbases, in Ukraine, with what has turned out to be a disappointingly low inventory of PAC-3MSE. So that we could flood sorties through the FEBA and just keep forcing them to mass to dislodge the armor and hitting them with SFW JSOW or even just plain Mavericks and HARM. Apparently, the Saudis got a bundle of our deployment kit Patriots when they and the Houthis locked horns and the latter started messing with the big east:west pipeline out to SARAB. For unknowable reasons, we just never ramped up the line at Raytheon to make up the drawdown from stocks. Hard to imagine, with the defense budgets we've been running. Spice Must Flow, I guess... Whether it was a coordination or logistics problem, (Biden/Harris both sure as hell advertised what we were thinking at the NATO minister's meeting...) the Russians got first draw and from there we would have had to break into the theater from the Polish/Rumanian side of the wire with only roughly 4 hardened MOBs from which to sortie and that would have likely meant a full-on NATO/Russia war with nuclear tipped Iskanders to follow shortly after we started treating Ukraine like Laos out of Thailand. The alternative was (apparently) drip feed and, without some serious war-planning as senior field leadership, running a battlefield along the lines of an active defense/raiding posture. We could not contain the Russians, even in the Donbas. The latter required mass production and early expediting of APS systems to keep the fight armored and mobile in the face of mass Russian ATGW and Drone attacks. Without that ability to push their lines and with the Kiev leadership, the fight was doomed to a caviar tastes, ramen noodle budgeted outcome. I will always wonder what might have happened if we had gone in, airmobile, with SOF, while the Surovikin line was still under a million mines and three belts of defense. Tear that line of contact open like a bandaid off a bloody wound and just keep ripping gaps and taking down engineering gear until the front was more open for a followon spring offensive with a little heavier force construct. We would have still had to deal with their artillery but at least it would have been a maneuver fight rather than a slugging match. Sure killed a lot of Ukrainians for nothing. That place is going to be a mess for a century.
@unclenels7742Күн бұрын
The S-500 will be faster, son.
@xyz-hj6ul16 сағат бұрын
@@unclenels7742 Not sure if this answers your assertion or not but- Here. We. Go. The thing about the 77N6 is that it's going to likely be costed somewhere between the MIM-104F and MIM-401 that's a pretty wide splay of say 4-12 million dollars per round. Target value is going to have to be pretty high to justify the engagement. With only two shots per TEL and only 4 on the 40N6 of the late mod S-400, speed doesn't seem to be as much of a factor as risk. I have heard, rumor mill grind of about 2.5 on the coffee to bullshit ratio, that Buk M3 is Mach 8.8 (intercept) capable and is, in fact, used to knock down PAC-3MSE. Literally as they fire at UMPK carrying Su-34s they are counter effectored by a fly swatter SA-27 battery team. Target Acquisition Radar hands off to the TELAR which datalinks to the oppsed TELAR which shoots silently, based on whoever is staggered formation closer to bearing. Yet the Buk-M3 also has twelve shots on a self-designating mobile TELAR and an effective operational range under 100km. Probably under 75. So, it needs to have numbers (3+TAR) to get the job done because it's likely going to be ducking and dodging whatever is fired back at it. Even just artillery. Especially if you only have 2 missiles per TEL, do you honestly want to be risking a 1.25 billion dollar battery that close to the FEBA? So, what happens is, you standoff with your F-35 section and play SIAW games with the frontal defenses. Scoot the Raptors across very high or very low to get depth and then fire snap up or lofted JATM shots into...whatever A-50 orbit or Su-57 base you are actually BARCAPing for and the push the big money chips into the other targets, with a mix of JASSM or TLAM or LRSO and ADM-160 (MCALS from a C-17, 300nm back, under 1,500ft AGL) and dare the IAMDS to discriminate the 10ft decoy from the 14-20ft cruise. On the backfoot as their radars go down. In all likelihood, the IAMDS will probably just have a hog-wild threshold range, after which they go for anything that moves. So you've got between 48-64 48N6 per battery and maybe some 40N6 (SARH TVM vs. Active) and you're facing 20+ SIAW and a mix of 50+ decoys and 100+ ALCM/SLCM. The HiMADS gets ~40-60% of these and then the Pantsirs (if present) open up on the survivors. Total shoot down is 80% with an SSPK averaging around 55-40% split between HiMADS and MSAM or SHORADS. A _lot_ of shots are expended in the terminal phase which means your goalkeeper saturation is going to be pretty heavy when the Tomahakws start dumping expendables and/or running jammer cell and switchback tactics. 170 X .80 = 34 shots over the base fence. If two thirds of those are BGM/UGM-109s that's probably 23 revetment or ramp targets hit. Which is considerable damage because the Russians don't have a HAS system (neither do we for wont of the arrogance that nobody will strike CONUS, but Russia is 'living in the rough neighborhood'). Now, multiply this by 3, on the basis of the two of four SSGNs launching all of their 154 odd missiles. Tomahawks are actually 1,100nm ranged weapons, MALD is something like 500 in the decoy and 250 in the jammer. And, of course, nothing says that they have to come from the same axis. Only coordinate within a given area. Twenty three times three is Sixty Nine tactical airframes lost. That's a big bite out of Russian tacair in the Ukrainian theater, even if you spread it out between Su-30/34/35 and MiG-31s, evenly. And it further assumes that the Raptors are fuel critical and get nothing at all while the JSFs do not flow forward through the holes they made and raise their own Caine. Setup is everything, the Russians do some pretty cool stuff with passive/active integration and I'm not saying it will work that way. NATO doesn't have me on their list for an EOB map every Tuesday. What bothers me is what happens when the Russians stop being reasonable. When they realize they've lost too much to still win or even hold and decide not to take the L and start talking negotiated withdrawal. At this phase, there is absolutely nothing to say they have to be reasonable because The West has not been. As so you put aa nuke over Kiev, an Orezhnik over Minsk Mazowiecki, Poznan, Malbork and Lask as the primary hardened, fighter fields. And send a private communique to Berlin, Paris and London _stating not asking_ 'Which flavor I-scream would you like?'. Making it clear that every Capital in Europe will be destroyed if ALL of NATO does not leave Ukraine in the next four days. And sending a separate telegram to the U.S. which states: 'And if a single further warhead, coventional or nuclear, explodes over Russian territory, a full release of the Russian strategic land based deterrent force will be directed at the U.S., no further warnings.' You absolute can win the initial OCA/DEAD, Air Supremacy, battle and lose the war. And yet, if you don't begin that battle which seizes air dominance over Ukraine, you will not stop them from losing the ground war, regardless. UMPK doesn't change this. But it does accelerate its pace towards the abyss. Because even though they will not cease to exist as Russia certainly will, if they yield Ukraine to NATO, the global blowback from all the sanctions and the effects of shattered trade partnerships with Russia for energy, food and materials, will cause The West to be _despised_ and all but guarantee the rise of BRICS as an alternate, strictly neutral, trading coalition where all parnter states are equal members. And because they know they've fucked up so abysmally, the EU and U.S. political classes may simply grab that ball, duck their heads and try to force this thing through, anyway. This is not The Great Game as some kind of Sport Of Kings. This is people who have way too much power already, putting at risk the lives of those who are just unfortunate enough to live under the same hypocenter. And they should be stripped of office and put to the noose for the needless risks they are setting before humanity. Nothing less will teach the lesson of self as mission to the elites. That they are but transient caretakers for the civilizational construct of man, not team captains for some kind of bogus death sport olympics or religious crusade.
