I’m Hispanic don’t need to be walking around with a turban or kuffi or bisht all day just because I’m Muslim . Keep your identity at all times

I know people may have good intentions, however the constant surprise at Black American Muslims pronouncing or speaking Arabic "Well" is feeling microagressive... it is that everyday racism that gets "tired." Up to 1 in 3 Africans enslaved in the US were Muslim and between approximately 1 in 3 US born Muslims ( 3rd gen Americans +) are Black Muslims.... Yes, we read, learn, and speak... get over it we are Muslim too. That said Eid Mubarak wa Kulli Sanaa wa antum tayyibeen, InshAllah. PS, sorry I missed hearing your session at AERA Br Marc Lamont Hill. This video showed up in my notifications. I sat down and watched it in it's entirety. No mention was made of The Nation of Islam, despite the fact the term "Black Muslims" was used in the title and in the form of a question. That term is a term that traditionally refers to The Nation of Islam specifically. So I watched. For reasons I know, but vigorously disagree with, The Nation of Islam has become irrelevant enough in the minds of our people that this young brother can make a video using "our name" and never even consider our answer to his question. As a Minister and Representative of Messenger Elijah Muhammad, NOT Louis Farrakhan, I would encourage our brother to have a Minister of The REAL Nation of Islam as a guest on his show to explain to our people what Ramadan truly means for The Blackman in America.
