By Grace through Faith Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast Roman 4:4-5= Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, Romans 11:6 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. Titus 3:4-7 4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 2 Timothy 1:9 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 1 Peter 1:3-5 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Ephesians 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), Romans 5:1 Faith Triumphs in Trouble 5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ________________________ 2 Timothy 3:15 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:8-9 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 2:16 16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. Galatians 3:22-24 22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

counterpoint faith and works cannot mix they are oil and water Romans 11:6 6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

@@havefaith4382I disagree. Faith & works are two sides of the same coin. it is the grace of God through faith that works in love". ..."whatever you have done to the least of these, you have done to me...the one you say you love". Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ 37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Sounds a lot like what we do… aka works matter because it is a faith that is alive. Debunking catholicism I'm more blessed than mary Proof = Luke 11:27-28 27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!” 28 But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” In Luke 11:27 that random woman LITERALLY said Jesus your mother is Blessed, but are Lord Jesus LITERALLY said Believers are more Blessed than mary. Amen and Amen _________________________ CHRIST alone John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Hebrew 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus _________________________ Work of God = John 6:28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” _________________________ 1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach Paul allows bishops to get marry, but catholic church goes against paul. Now these catholic will give a Verses from 1 Corinthians7 to say that paul gave the advice to stay unmarried. But they will not tell you that the same chapter they quote says 1 Corinthians 7:28 "even if you do marry, you have not SINNED". The passage literally says "young women, young men" and a bishop is supposed to be a Church ELDER. Mic drop _________________________ Jesus said Matthew 23:9 9 Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And also said Holy Father to Heavenly Father= John 17:11 11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. Jesus said call no one Father but still catholics call *pope holy father. Sad _________________________ Whenever a catholic argue about mary being the mother of God Use this to defeat the argument. Luke 8:21 But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Matthew 12:46-50 46 While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. 47 Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.” 48 But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” 49 And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”. Mark 3:35 For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.” John 19:26-27 26 When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” 27 Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home. ( Jesus basically said John is the son of mary, and mary is the mother of John from that time onwards). By the way sarah is the mother of all proof=Galatians 4:21-26. _________________________ We should not pray to apostles Romans 1:25 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Acts 10:25-26 25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” Acts 14:15 15 and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, Revelation 19:10 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 22:8-9 8 Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9 Then he said to me, “See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." Colossians 2:18 18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, You cannot go to Father through saints nor mary, you can only go to the Father through Lord Jesus Christ= John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Ephesians 2:18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Holy Spirit intercedes for us=Romans 8:26 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And CHRIST as well=Romans 8:34 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Hebrews 7:25 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. It's Christ and Holy Spirit who intercedes for us not apostles _________________________ There is only one Mediator between God and men LORD Jesus Christ= 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. Hebrew 9:15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Hebrew 12:24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel. Hebrew 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. _________________________ Apostles are allowed to marry, 1 Corinthians 9:1-5 1 Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? 2 If I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. 3 My defense to those who examine me is this: 4 Do we have no right to eat and drink? 5 Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? If Peter (peter is cephas read John 1:42) the so called "first pope" was married, why does the catholic church doesn't allow "pope" to marry? _________________________ The so called vicar of christ/ pope/holy father Peter called himself a fellow elder in 1 Peter 5:1, and as per the qualifications of elder in Titus 1:5-9 the elder is allowed to get married; then why does the "pope" is required to be celibate and catholic? ( when Peter was neither celibate nor catholic). 1)Peter was not perfect human nor was he a perfect disciple 2)He sank down while walking on water 3)Our Lord said to peter get behind me satan 4)Peter reject our Lord 3 times 5)Our Lord rebuked Peter for calling fire from heaven 6)Our Lord rebuked Peter when he cut of the soilders ear 7)Paul rebuked Peter for being hypocrite because he was acting different in front of Jews and different in front of gentiles. 8) Moses messed up, and he was a important part of Bible ( that's why he never entered the promised land), 9)David messed up ( and he has the Holy Spirit), 10)King Soloman messed up, 11) Saul messed up and God regretted the decision (1 Samuel 15:10-11). Hatrick (Saul then David then Soloman back to back messed up) 12)The apostles run away a day before Lord Jesus got locked up. 13)The early church messed up Rev 2:18-20 14) Apostle John when receiving Revelation worshiped an angel and the angel said "see you do not do that. Worship GOD" Revelation 22:8-9 If these great people could mess up, why do you think the catholic church wouldn't mess up. _ Galatians 4:21-26 21 Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? 22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar- 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children- 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. Sarah is mother of all, Not mary Also the Church has many name like Christians, Evangelists, Children of God, Believers, servents of God, bride of Christ, but not once the Church is called catholics Changed the 10 commandments by deleting 2nd commandment, and dividing the 10th into 2 commandments. Also changing the real Saturday Sabbath to fake sunday sabbath.

Jesus called Himself God Matthew 7:22-23 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Mark 2:28 28 Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Luke 6:46 46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Revelation 1:17-18 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. (God calls Himself the First and the Last in Old Testament Isaiah 41:4, 44;6, 48:12.) Matthew 12:8 8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”(Sabbath day is God' Deuteronomy 5:14) John 8:58 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” (God's name is "I AM" Exodus 3:14) John 10:29-30 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.” Matthew 28:19 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (God forgives sins in old testament, Jesus can also forgive sins) Mark 2:5-7 5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” 6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” John 14:11 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. (Disciples calling Jesus God in the GOSPELS and some letters) John 20:28 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Matthew 13:51 51 Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Matthew 14:28 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ Philippians 2:5:11 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. John 1:1&14 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God& John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (Lastly Old Testament said the Messiah will be God)Isaiah 9:6 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Also way, truth, life is one of 99 names, Jesus called Himself The Way, The Truth, The Life in John 14:6(now mind you these are only the once were Jesus called Himself God in the Gospels and Revelation. I'm not including the once where the apostles called Jesus God in their letters.) _______________________ Jesus said He is the Son of God. John 3:16-18 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 17:1-3 17 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 9:35-38 35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?" 36 He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” 37 And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” 38 Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him. Mark 14:61-62 61 But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62 Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 26:63-64 63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” 64 Jesus said to him, “It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 16:15-17 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Luke 22:70 70 Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them, “You rightly say that I am.” John 5:23 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. John 6:67-69 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” 68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” ____ GOD calling Jesus His Son Mark 1:9-11 9 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. 11 Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Mark 9:7 7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!” Matthew 3:17 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”

The fruit comes from Christ. he's the vine. the orthodox believe they dwell in Christ through their faith (and their faith works itself out). Faith and works aren't divided. They're very much related. Christ is the source. But the branches dwelling in the vine produce what the vine produces in them if they remain in Him.

When i read scripture this is basically how I understand works. Isn’t that how all Protestants see it? That works are a result after salvation. It’s fruit of truly being saved but we can’t take credit for it because it’s Jesus who does the work through us as we submit. Here he kinda says it’s necessary, but the scripture indicates it’s simply the result of salvation , necessary not that you do it for salvation but rather that it’s proof your spirit has been changed by God. So I wouldn’t leave it necessary but rather a result of salvation

A point to ponder, salvation has 3 tenses. Was saved (Justification). Being saved (Sanctification). Will be saved (Glorification). It is almost to the point where using the word salvation is meaningless because the three are conflated. Are we justified by faith or works? I submit faith alone. Can you show your sanctification without works? I submit show you my faith by my works. Redeemed is a one and done transaction. It is not an ongoing process. When I redeem stock certificates, or coupons, etc. I present my proof and receive my possession. Justification is an accounting term. To be declared righteous. Imputes Christ's righteousness. Judicially declared innocent. These concepts must need occur at a singular point and not over a lifetime. A saved Christian (justified person) will work out (not for) their salvation with the good works set before them.

Hi Fr Peter, What a great sermon! You mentioned that God can not force anything upon us, because that would not be LOVE. I totally agree!! When you have time, can you make a video that SQUASHES this false notion and evil man made doctrine of “Once saved, always saved”. I’ve recently read that the “Once saved, always saved” notion was created by man in the 1500’s or by a John Calvin. Is this true? These modern day pastors, teachers and theologians NEVER bring up how someone can “fall from Grace”. There are too many verses that explain this, but yet these pastors mention only the small handful of verses that “seem” to support their man made “once saved, always saved” belief, by twisting the verses around. I believe the “once saved, always saved” notion is blasphemy to GOD and the HEAVENS. I believe most pastors, evangelicals and watered down Christians today, use this Bible verse Ephesians 2:8-9 for “MONETARY GAIN” and as a “FREE LICENSE TO SIN”. A pastor that preaches this false doctrine uses “OSAS” notion to cater to their “members” for monetary gain and more so gives them a “comfort blanket” to sin. The more members, the more for their pockets. Also their members believe(because they have been told) they can confess to Jesus alone and from their own homes or wherever it may be, and even in silent prayers. This is totally wrong. If you preach this “Once Saved, Always Saved” doctrine of demons, you are a “castaway”.👇🏼 1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a CASTAWAY. This is the original Bible verse written in Greek 1 Corinthians 9:27 ἀλλ’ ὑπωπιάζω μου τὸ σῶμα καὶ δουλαγωγῶ, μήπως, ἄλλοις κηρύξας, αὐτὸς 👉🏻ἀδόκιμος👈🏻 γένωμαι. - Lexical: 👉🏻ἀδόκιμος👈🏻 - Transliteration: adokimos - Part of Speech: Adjective - Phonetic Spelling: ad-ok'-ee-mos - Definition: 👉🏻failing to pass the test, unapproved, counterfeit👈🏻. - Origin: From a (as a negative particle) and dokimos; unapproved, i.e. Rejected; by implication, worthless (literally or morally). - Usage: castaway, rejected, reprobate. - Translated as (count): unapproved (3), disqualified (2), a depraved (1), unfit (1), worthless (1). ______________ Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. So the purpose of this verse is to let man know they could NEVER “merit” salvation. Why..? Because we would 👉🏻BOAST👈🏻. Man was 👉🏻IN SIN. Man was 👉🏻NOT PURE👈🏻. God doesn’t 👉🏻CRAM salvation down our throats👈🏻. Why...? Because man has 👉🏻FREE WILL👈🏻. Key examples of OSAS is false doctrine: Judas. Judas walked, talked, ate, prayed with Jesus, but was not “once saved always saved”. The parable of the Sower. (Your roots are not present or very weak) Matthew 13:18-30 18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” 24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds*(sinners/devil worshippers)and tie them in bundles to be burned*(Hell); then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn*(Heaven). **I interpret these words as metaphors for the judgement. ________________ Christ and the apostles tell us to stay steadfast until the end. Verses that state losing your salvation by falling from Grace. Never a mention of “once save always saved” in the Bible. Many people accept Jesus into their hearts in a short matter of time, being a few days, weeks, months or few years without devotion, love or good faith. Then fall away from the faith or little faith they experienced. They believe they can go back into a lifestyle of continual sin and still be saved. And that’s what people need to realize is TOTALLY wrong. Our names are the book of life, but God can BLOT them out according to our “deeds, faith and works”. Galatians 5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have 👉🏻fallen from grace👈🏻. Revelation 3:5 “He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not 👉🏻blot out his name out of the book of life👈🏻, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.” Can you incorporate and fully explain the passage Hebrews 6:4-6 with falling from Grace aspect with the false doctrine OSAS. Hebrews 6:4-6 4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[c] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. So would this be the ultimate sin? Worse then killing a fellow man? It’s stating you are again “crucifying Christ all over again” :( _______________ Keep your FAITH until the END. Keep God’s LAW. Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and 👉🏻take up his cross daily👈🏻, and follow me.” 1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, 👉🏻I die daily👈🏻. Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, 👉🏻work out your own salvation👈🏻 with 👉🏻fear and trembling👈🏻. No mention 👆🏻 of “once saved, always saved” in the scriptures!! _______________ DENY YOURSELF, FOLLOW CHRIST AND CARRY THE CROSS DAILY. (Luke 9:23) 2 Timothy 4:2-4 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage -with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the 👉🏻time will come👈🏻 when people 👉🏻will not put up with sound doctrine👈🏻. Instead, to 👉🏻suit their own desires👈🏻, 👉🏻they👈🏻 will gather around them a great number of teachers 👉🏻to say what their itching ears want to hear👈🏻. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 1 Peter 2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing you may 👉🏻put to silence the ignorance of foolish men👈🏻 God Bless you Fr Peter and allyour loved ones. Thank you for taking time to read our thoughts and comments.

Also changing the real Saturday Sabbath to fake sunday sabbath.✝️

Aren't the works the fruit of the faith.? We are saved gratis by faith to God who redeemed all humanity... By faith to Him and participating in the Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion we are incorporated to Him in His Body that is the Church.. As a result of our salvation we do the good works because they are the natural results of a person who is connected to Christ.. Since He is Holy we become holy like Him as much as we can, by acting in a holy manner in our lives.. From thoughts till the actions..In fact it is Christ who does the good works in us, we just surrender our will to Him. Without Christ nothing good can we do.. As St. Nectarios of Aegina said:the salvation is started by the Grace, it is shaped by the human will and it is perfected again by the Grace

24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith....

Interesting, thanks for posting this video. A comment for your consideration: The text, Gal 2:16, uses the term justify (dikaioō) three times. As Fr. Heers clearly states: you have no choice about being resurrected, you will be "saved" from death, AND you can be resurrected but not have peace with God. So it seems to be muddying the waters to use resurrection, salvation, and "justified" interchangeably.

Not all Protestants believe in Faith Alone. In reality, it just doesn't make sense. But many of us know that when you are grateful, truly grateful for the grace shown to you, you are compelled to action. It is hard to be critisized and looked at 'sideways' from those who are idle and assume all is well because they 'prayed a prayer'. But once you truly come to grips with what He has done and who He is, any works you may do are in contrast, lame. But when He and the Holy Spirit come alongside, the paraclete, then our small efforts can become amazing manifestations of His love for us all.

The Protestant error can be solved by the basic understanding of grammar: The word Faith can either be a noun or a verb. The word Works can also be a noun or a verb. Their confusion stems in comparing the noun, Faith with the verb, Works. If verb is compared with verb or noun with noun, it will be amply clear that there is no dichotomy.
@ExVeritateLibertas
@ExVeritateLibertas 3 жыл бұрын
This confusion between noun and verb is something unique to English, due to our loss of syntax. It is not a problem in Greek, German, or any number of other European languages. There can't be any conclusion other than that Martin Luther and other protestant reformers, who certainly knew their Greek, engaged in deliberate falsification of scripture.

It’s a minor point, but some might notice Fr. Peter seems to have conflated the story of the raising of Jairus’ daughter and the healing of the demonized boy after Christ’s Transfiguration. It was the latter where the father exclaimed, “I believe. Help my unbelief!” Both are accounts where faith as trust was expressed by the respective fathers. Happens to every preacher once in a while….🙂

oh my goodness....so I looked up the scripture verse in two of my bibles. one was the New Jerusalem Bible and the other was the Duay Rheims . Both RC Bibles...and completely different. The Duay Rheims reads like you speak Father Peter, and the other is the ...in Christ. and when you pointed out that it doesn't make sense if it all reads "in" you are right! I have noticed over the years that there are many translations from the King James that leave out whole sentences and sometimes whole paragraphs of scripture. But no one would ever know if they didn't have a Duay to compare to. For a looong time I have had the feeling that the Hebrew, Greek and Latin languages are sacred and so why wouldn't the devil not want them referenced or translated accurately. Especially Hebrew and Greek.

Protestantism is dying to prove that their interpretation of the Scriptures is correct while Orthodoxy established that from the first centuries and is living the Scriptures daily through the Church and the Saints/ Fathers and Mothers in Christ! If you Protestants could just for once meet Saint Porphyrios or Saint Paisios or Saint Ephraim of Arizona that lived among us the last decades ( and many others that are still alive) , that showed with their lives what really salvation and theosis is, most of you wouldn’t be here now arguing but instead being Orthodox yourself!

As a Reformed Baptist, this has been a disappointing response. Mr. Heer’s really is avoiding the New Testament’s pounding insistence on Christ alone through faith alone as the source of our salvation. To sit on James 2 and using it to justify a mixing of works in salvation totally blows off the great work of Paul - who in so many epistles explicitly teaches the opposite interpretation of Heers. You can dismiss this as a “western” obsession - but you can not say the Apostle Paul is “obssesed” when he makes clear that we are saved as a GIFT from God, through Faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8).

Are you doing good works so God does not send you in Hell? Do you trust in your own actions to get you in Heaven? Are you turning away from your sins to go to Heaven? Are you loving Jesus so you can go in Heaven? Are you obeying the commandments so you can have eternal life? Do you bring good fruit so you can go in Heaven? My friend you are not saved and therefore your trust is not in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation but in Jesus + yourself. This is how it should be. The proper understanding of Romans, James etc. is that we are saved by the Grace of God through our living faith in Jesus Christ as evidenced by our good works. In other words, living faith -> Grace of God -> Salvation -> good works. Another other variation of that theme is a against Scripture. We all fall short of the glory of God and none of us deserve to be saved by our works. If you boast you can be saved by works then you are boasting and demeaning Jesus.

@@noway165 This text is often misused to instill fear into people, warning them that it means that they can lose salvation. What does it mean to work out our salvation with fear and trembling? The Greek word translated "fear" in this context can equally mean "reverence" or "respect." The sense in which we are to work out our salvation in fear and trembling is twofold. First, the Greek verb rendered “work out” means "to continually work to bring something to completion or fruition." We do this by actively pursuing obedience in the process of sanctification, which Paul explains further in the next chapter of Philippians. He describes himself as “straining” and “pressing on” toward the goal of Christlikeness .” We work out our salvation by going to the very source of our salvation-the Word of God-wherein we renew our hearts and minds coming into His presence with a spirit of reverence and awe.

I dont belong to any church. I am saved by the sacrifice Yeshua made on the cross for my sins. I pray, study scripture and am trying to walk in accordance to what the WORD says and clearly declares is the actions and behavior of what God calls upright living and walking. FAR too many live the LIE of GRACE ONLY to the extreme. James warns FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD. 1John speaks CLEARLY that we are to WALK IN THE LIGHT for that is where Yeshua is. What is the light? THE TORAH All through the OT we see in proverbs and Psalms that the Torah ( first 5 books aka the LAW/Commandments/INSTRUCTION) are a LIGHT to my feet illuminating the direct I should WALK so that I do not "stumble around in the dark!" Many will tell you, "you are trying to earn salvation" No dear brothers and sisters. I am not, because THAT is IMPOSSIBLE. I am a sinner and any righteousness I exhibit is not me but rather Yeshua's righteousness. My righteousness is nothing but filty, stinking tattered RAGS. Paul tells us that the LAW IS HOLY.... what are we called to be? HOLY IF the Torah is therefore HOLY and it tells me HOW I SHOULD LIVE, HOW I SHOULD HONOR GOD, and it teaches me HOW I SHOULD LOVE MY FELLOW man then WHY oh WHY would I NOT do as it SAYS?????? Walking upright and orderly is NOT about salvation but rather it is CHOOSING to be OBEDIENT to what God says is GOOD!!!

James 2:14-26 shows that faith without works is dead. If there are no works nor acts of faith then there is no faith, and one’s supposed faith remains false and a delusion. But what is meant by “works”? The Protestant Reformers completely misinterpreted the Scriptures on this. Please look up the article by Fr. George Florovsky on “The Ascetic Ideal and the New Testament” which explains how the Church understood the Scriptures regarding “works” of faith and “works of the law” compared to the Reformers.

@@OrthodoxEthos Romans 4:5 defines the source of righteousness before God. How would the Orthodox square the definition of trust here with the definition of 'works of faith' proposed in the article? The book of James refers to justification before men and salvation from the contingencies of sin. This is a pretty standard response.

@@OrthodoxEthos You don't understand that James is talking about a dead faith. We are saved by a living faith coupled with true repentance. The thief on the cross who only had faith was saved without works. He obviously didn't have time to do any good works People who live out their lives with living faith do have time and as a result of their true living faith will perform good works as James hinted.

@OrthodoxEthos
@OrthodoxEthos 3 жыл бұрын
On what basis are you not sure? Who do you trust to explain the Gospel (Acts 8:31)? The Orthodox view of salvation is the Apostolic, Patristic understanding which has remained constant and apparent in the Lives of the Holy Ones from 33 AD onwards. It was the Orthodox Church, the Saints that we follow, commemorate, celebrate and have as our guides, such as St. Athanasius the Great, or the Three Hierarchs and Capadocian Fathers, who ultimately determined the Canon of Scripture. In other words, it was the Church who gave us the Gospel, that is Christ, Who is the Church, for He is the Head and it is His Body.

Your inference / accusation that Evangelicals, Protestants and Anabaptist Christians are all Antinomian is a clear strawman. Gal 5:19-21 is clear that damnation shall be the reward of unrepentant sin, and a fruitless life. The pivot is the Orthodox add works and acts of priestcraft to actual salvation. A clear example is your belief you get born again through a priestcraft act, in our theology it has nothing to do with it. You preach a gospel opposite to Jesus in Luke 24:44-48 and 1 Cor 15:1-4 and indeed John 3:16 where works and priestcraft are not added. You are therefore anathema according to Gal 1:6-9 and insult Jesus as a Semi Saviour.

Salvation is theosis- that is, God became man, that man might become god (by Grace). “Ye are gods.” Partakers of Divine Nature, as the Apostle Peter writes. So, yes, communion with God, union, glorification by Him (“not I, but Christ lives in me”) is the calling of every man, not only every Christian. “If I am lifted up, I will draw all men to myself.” He was and is lifted up, ON THE CROSS. The Cross leads to Resurrection. Life post-resurrection is a new creation, as we see in Christ’s flesh when He walks into the room “when the doors were shut.” Our nature now sits at the right hand of God, deified. He calls all to come to Him - do not hinder the little children - and this means to heaven to dwell in communion with Him, to go from the image to the likeness, to become gods - BY GRACE.
