National language Urdu, official language English, religious language Arabic, mother tongue Punjabi, Pushto, etc., national anthem in Persian. The idea shall be to carve a social identity on the basis of the future rather than only extracting it on the basis of history, without compromising on religious, cultural, diplomatic, and regional values, The modern structure of the nation-state will keep every person in an identity crisis. in the subcontinent, people with different ideologies always coexisted, but after globalization and British rule, the current state of affairs was inevitable. When Adeel says religion was not the basis for partition, it is a partially false statement. Taking out the religion from the struggle for freedom would be an alternate fantasy history. However it is also true that prior to that there were no religious governments for the majority of the time, even the ones with Muslim dynasties(they were more of an imperial powers), I agree with Adeel when he talks about integrating regional and national identity while retaining their own culture, while it is not as easy at it seems, it generates a conflict with the ideology and globalization of the state

Why do Pakistanis keep referring to South Asia? Pakistan does not belong to South Asia tectonic plates notwithstanding. The same as Cyprus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Russia and Armenia do not belong to Asia inspite of being geographically being located in the continent either in their entirety or at least majorly. Pakistan should join MENA groups and identify with them (which they already do). This will save us South Asians from this rabid nation.

Hey Shehzad Bhai, I hope everything is fine with you and your family. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible content you create on your podcast. It has been a source of inspiration and enlightenment for me on various important topics, and I believe it plays a significant role in shaping the perspectives of many individuals like myself.Your discussions on the importance of language and culture for personal growth resonate deeply with me. It's enlightening to hear your insights on how they shape our identities and connect us to our roots. Your emphasis on the significance of a secular nation and the exploration of the subcontinent's history for better governance have broadened my horizons and fueled my interest and of many of my friends in these subjects. Moreover, your candid conversations about the shortcomings of the State and the ways citizens can challenge and contribute to the betterment of their nation are thought-provoking and encouraging. In a world where open dialogue and critical thinking are often undervalued, your podcast stands as a beacon of hope and intellectual engagement. I believe your podcast has the power to bring about positive change and encourage more people to become active participants in the betterment of our society. Your dedication to these topics is truly commendable, and I'm immensely grateful for the knowledge and awareness your podcast imparts.Thank you for your unwavering commitment to promoting thoughtful discussions and your efforts to make this world a better place. I eagerly await each new episode and look forward to the continued inspiration and insights that your podcast provides. Only one small suggestion, as I am from India and I know many people in India who listen to you, so many a times we struggle to understand certain things because of heavy urdu words, so if you could use more of english or a simplified urdu, it would be of great help to us. Even English people don't know much history of their own land and about Anglo and Saxon tribes and others before them. They start their history from Greek civilization then Roman empire and then the English speaking people from 1000 AD. Maulana Ashraf ali Thanvi was in support of Pakistan and also Shabbir ahmed usmani and many others scholars from Indo-Pak. This guy saying that most ulema against Pakistan is untrue. Hussain Ahmed Madni and Maulana Azad were good scholars of Islam but were lacking in Foresight. Even Azad himself admitted in his autobiography published many years after his death that even secular Hindu Congress leaders had extreme prejudice and hatred for Muslims.

I totally Respect Adeel Afzal Sir's thoughts on religion and Pakistani identity, but his numerous perspectives on ISLAM are somewhat biased! I am also a Punjabi and a Pakistani, but I cannot say that religion is the main cause of our identity crisis. Your delivery of attitude is indirectly condemning The Religion. It's the fault of the people in charge that they played the religion card, but that doesn't mean religion is bad in and of itself, and it's incorrect to say that most Islamic scholars were against Pakistan. This is not correct.I am not arguing that Indians and Hindus are to fault; Obviously they are not. We, as a nation, are to fault for having these types of leaders!

Pakistan's identity is multifaceted, rooted in its rich history, diverse culture, and complex socio-political landscape. Founded in 1947 as a homeland for Muslims in South Asia, Pakistan's identity is deeply intertwined with its Islamic heritage. However, it is not solely defined by religion. Pakistan encompasses a myriad of ethnicities, languages, and traditions, contributing to its vibrant tapestry of identity. Moreover, Pakistan's identity is shaped by its struggle for independence, its geopolitical significance, and its ongoing quest for socio-economic development. Its identity is reflected in its literature, art, music, and cuisine, which fuse influences from various regions and civilizations. Despite challenges such as political instability, socio-economic disparities, and security concerns, Pakistan's identity is resilient. It is a nation that continues to evolve, seeking to reconcile its past with its aspirations for the future while embracing its diverse heritage as a source of strength and unity.

Why Pakistan can't be said to be created based on religion? 1. Wasn't the slogan "Pakistan ka matlab kia, Laillaha illalah" raised during struggle for freedom? 2. Why Muslims living in provinces like UP etc voted for Muslim League while they knew they will not be a part of Pakistan? 3. Was basis of creation of Pakistan unity of Punjabis, Baluchis, Sindhis and Pathans? While we know that not all of Punjabis, Pathans, Baluchis and Sindhis will be a part of Pakistan? 4. Why Bengalis living far away from us voted to be a part of Pakistan? While they had nothing in common with us (language, culture, geographic contiguity) except for religion.
