A governor cannot make law. That is the prerogative of the legislature. No Executive order or mandate is enforceable as law upon the general public, since it isn't law in the first place. All these "rules" are actually Guidelines! To be followed OR NOT. It's up to the individual. Also, at 3:00 you say society has made this rule. Really? Where is it documented that there was a vote by the general population to require everyone to wear a self-suffocation device... I mean mask???? I didn't have a say in any of this... therefore I will not comply.

@d.peters6075
@d.peters6075 3 жыл бұрын
You stated near the beginning that "society" has determined that wearing a mask is the right thing to do. Not hardly. When government officials dictate you will wear a mask, that is not society. Society determining it would be if the general public made that choice on its own through a recommendation by health officials. When a tyrannical dictator like the governor of Michigan demands your compliance, yet she and her own family can do what they want coupled with the courts clearly stating that she does not have the authority to do what she has done and that she is violating the constitutional rights of the citizens of Michigan, what was her response? She turns to the health department and has them start issuing the very same demands that she has been told are unconstitutional and then continues to use them as her surrogate mouthpiece. That is not society determining anything. That is a dictatorship...and that is why so many absolutely refuse to comply with these tyrannical demands that she and the other elites do not follow themselves. You say that this type of person is a conspiracy theorist and antisocial and not sympathetic to others. Yet, most of these people who refuse to comply with tyranny will voluntarily comply with other rules in society quite easily. This cold virus, which is what COVID is, is no different than so many other things in life...we have the right to self determination. Everyone knows smoking can cause lung cancer, yet millions still smoke. Everyone knows drunk driving is dangerous, yet thousands drive drunk every day. Everyone knows you that speeding is against the law, yet millions still drive faster than the posted speed limit every time they drive somewhere. To be told that I am a murderer because I am not wearing a mask, to be told that I am going to infect someone when there is absolute no evidence that I am sick with anything from the common cold to cancer or AIDS, yeah...that will cause people to say I will not comply. I am disabled. My sister in law comes over to my house and cleans it for me. My brother comes over to help me with things I cannot do. Just last week, I had some kind of stomach bug...just a very disagreeable digestive system, nothing wanted to stay down, no appetite, etc. I sent a text to my sister in law and brother saying...I have a stomach bug, skip this week. Evidence is present that I had some kind of potentially communicable virus seeing as I began feeling ill after my mother had vomited near me a few days before. Yet I don't care about people according to your assessment. Reality is...there is absolute no evidence I am sick and therefore, I will not act as though I am to placate to another's government and media induced paranoia. All we hear is "so many died/so many tested positive. NEVER, not one single time have they reported the story like this..."X number of people have died this week from complications of COVID. X number have tested positive in the last week and X number of people have recovered and returned home." Nope, just the paranoia, fear inducing propaganda to maintain and strengthen the control and domination. Fauci talks out of both sides of his mouth, constantly retracts and changes what he says when his benchmarks are not met always moving the goal posts to maintain his story and the fear control over society. I know you'll label me with some kind of mental disorder and I'd love to know what you have to say. I need that laugh.

How often are you told that you watch Fox news, support Donald Trump or are a Republican just for questioning this propaganda? Not like there's anything wrong with that. It's just so pathetic how people have adopted this as a religion and it seems to be an offshoot of the anti-trump propaganda cult religion. Whether person cared for him or voted for him or not that level of insanity and adherence to hatred at all costs is what kind of led to this. They knew that if they could somehow tie not being manipulated by this propaganda to being a trump supporter or a Republican or in any way affiliated with whoever the TV tells these lemmings to hate, a lot of people will comply. And they continue doubling down politicizing it. It's pathetic and scary. You have people actually saying they're glad Republicans aren't getting vaccinated because then they'll die and Democrats will have full control. Even though I'm sure most of those are bots and fake profiles you know there's a small deranged minority who actually feel that way. This is the kind of propaganda that leads to atrocities like the holocaust. And it would have no power if there weren't so many mindless lemmings willing to eat it up because they have a pathetic need for a group to attach themselves to.

I worked in surgery for many years, so it doesn't bother me at all to wear a mask. And why would someone laugh at me for being lazy? (If that were the case.) Everyone has flaws, quirks and idiosyncrasies. I don't ridicule people for doing things that are convenient for them. It's unkind, and really unproductive to waste time ridiculing others because they don't act like you do, or like you think they should. I don't ridicule them because they can't spell, or write grammatically correct sentences, or understand math, or drive when they could walk. For people to go to the trouble of posting ridiculing comments about me is a total waste of time, unless they just enjoy ridiculing people. And it seems like an extreme level of wanna-be control, IMHO. It also indicates low degree of agreeableness. I still can't imagine why anyone would care what other people wear in the privacy of their car. The Constitution gives me the right to wear a mask if I want to. If not, that's cool too. I lose nothing buying my groceries with a mask on. And I'm fairly confident that's how most people see it. @Marvin Mayham Well if you come here to Florida where I live nobody knows from day-to-day what is going on as the laws change constantly from one city or county to another. Unfortunately, two of the colleges here that had opened up for face-to-face classes about two weeks ago have now had to send the kids home and quarantine all of the kids who tested positive into the same dorm. The colleges really have been thrilled because they said they expected far more cases and they've "only" had 21 in two weeks. Good news is only six of them are in the hospital and no one has died yet. They've basically gone all virtual which is hard for a lot of students as I know from being a teacher. They don't learn well that way but now they don't have any choice as all the classes have been canceled if they are face-to-face. It is my opinion that if people don't want to wear a mask then so be it. They make their own choice and if they get the virus then so be it. If they end up in the hospital on a ventilator then so be it. If they die well then it was their own choice to take the risk and so be it. If people are willing to risk their lives then so be it. Other people can stay away from them and make sure they don't go into the same stores or walk around near them and avoid them at all costs or stay home.

Suppressing your immune system to this degree with lockdown and constant mask wearing for going on close to six months now is going to have its own devastating effect on people’s immune systems. I disagree with you, Jenx. If you are on the Titanic and required to wear a life jacket, you could give the ship authorities an argument: there's no proof a life jacket will save lives, we're in the middle of the ocean what are the chances we'll be saved anyway, the water itself is cold enough to kill us, the fall from the ship might kill us, we'll just starve to death on the lifeboat, etc. But human beings are basically designed to survive. If there's a chance that the life jacket is going to save your life, wouldn't you take it? And what are you REALLY rebelling against? Surely not this small measure for your safety and others? This is not tyranny. This is an attempt to stop what has become a devastating and uncontrollable disease. A mask is one tool in this effort. Yet instead of focusing on what each individual can do as part of a collective effort to fight this, you prefer to focus on not wearing a mask. You would rather risk your own health and the health of those around you to keep from participating. And by doing so, you just add to the continued delay of getting this resolved. IOW, you just end up contributing to what you think you're attempting to stop.

I didn’t like wearing one because my ex almost strangled me to death and I had flashbacks to that. High anxiety, panic attacks and shaking. I would wear it when I had to but I was always pulling it out away from my face. Needless to say I stayed home a lot because people wouldn’t understand when I would start shaking and sweating in public. Just a different point of view.

I'm disgusted with the behaviour of some people, I have Autism and with my SPD it's really hell to wear a mask, I wear irlen lenses to help with my dyspraxia and sensory issues, they do steam up and my already fragile balance is exacerbated, I'm a hazard, I walk with a stick to help but it's a real struggle, I'm very used to socially distancing, because I've been a recluse for many many years, and in the beginning of the lockdown with so much competition for home deliveries, I had to really push myself, to go over my threshold to get essentials, this was horrific, meltdowns shutdowns and panic attacks, I find it hard to follow maps, directions, and the couple of shops I went to had cryptic feet and arrows pointing this way or that, I was already struggling to see, keep my balance and deal with the sensory overload with the mask on. And pushing a trolley when I was bumped into by a shop assistant pushing a cage, as she passed me, I then remembered something I forgot, I turned round following her path to get the tomatoes, she turns and shouts you're going the wrong way, I apologize and start to go down the next aisle, again she barks you can't go that way, you have to go down to the beginning of the store and start again, at this point I'm thinking she's being twisted, deep breath walk down to front of shop, but by this point fight or flight has really kicked in, by the time I got to front of shop I was fighting back tears, seen manager said I was disgusted with his staff and that many people have hidden disabilities, although my stick, dark glasses, and noise cancelling headphones should have been a bit of a giveaway, and snapping at customers is a bit much, and told him I wouldn't be buying my trolley load and walked out. I'm proud of myself for not having a complete meltdown until I got home, I put in an official complaint, I find some people are on a bit of a power trip, when given some authority, and it's really ugly to see. I'm glad I can get deliveries again. I just think people should have some compassion, and not judge those who are incapable of wearing a mask safely. You do not know what they are dealing with, I've managed to wear a mask on those few occasions I had to go out many Autists can't.

@Diana Howell I would imagine that as stressful as it is for the public to venture out in the stores, it's stressful for the employees, not only do they have to follow CDC guidelines to keep their facilities open, they have to deal with difficult customers who don't want to follow the rules, which makes it harder for us who do follow the rules and just get a little confused. I don't think it's a power thing, so much as it is a lack of control over the current event in this entire world. Gotta remember they're in this too, it's their livelihood on the line as well.

What I learned again and again over 36 years in EMS and nursing is that the best things are to sequester yourself when you feel ill, and always wash hands and avoid touching your face as a general rule. It is much better to stay home while feeling sick than to wear any kind of mask and expose the public to your bugs. Mask-wearing is courteous, but it hardly compares to staying home while sick for effectiveness. Immunocompromised people can protect themselves in much the same way.

The people who don’t wear masks are just like any other person. Some are crazy, most are normal people that just don’t like wearing one and have a different opinion than others. Most people don’t wear them correctly anyway. A lot of people that don’t wear them do so in a statement of defiance from regulating them on a permanent basis. . Masks are no longer required and look at all these people that refuse to stop wearing one because of programming. People don’t want masks to become a permanent part of culture. Personally to me at least, that’s more terrifying to me than Covid. Btw I’ve had covid and wore a mask. To me it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the media made it out to be. I enjoyed the vacation off work.
