@@Mexican00b Shatter can climb hills and mountains but no walls to count (although it’d be awesome if it could). Payloads are the weirdest shatter ramps in the game to be fair. Sometimes it ignores shields, sometimes it doesn’t.

"Have you ever fought against pirate ship comp?" Every single time the enemy team loses a round in gold/plat, next round they go bastion bunker. Bastion is incredibly hard to counter in those elos if my DPS don't know what they're doing

Back when i climbed out of elo hell i used to ask nicely to the team mates to hold their ultimates for a single fight. Most of the times the "bastion counter pick" in low elo is a shit show since the bastion doesn't have any idea of how safe he has to play if his team falls before him or does not play around him. Asking the team to hold their ultimates NICELY 90% of the time results in them doing it because it sounds fun, and in low elo a fight that starts with 6 ultimates is a carnage most of the times

@@gianlukeoni1776 best way I found to solo counter him is to play the junk rat long game and suicide dive him from behind when all strategy fails. Usually ends up working so long as you can make the mercy waste her rez. Easiest way to get POTG too.

Best way to counter a Bastion in those elos is to focus on shield break, force the Bastion to ve on the move and never to comfortable. Obviously Sombra is top dog but if you’re locked to tank or support your best bet is to go Zen or Orisa and just spam shields. Sigma is technically the best Bastion counter as you can just eat his damage and then hit him with a rock to force him out of turret mode, but in those elos it’s hard-to-impossible to get the necessary follow up so you’re better off just shield breaking.

I once had a 6-stack and we did pirateship with QUADRUPLE barrier (Rein, Orisa, Sigma and Winston) and Mercy damage boost. We lost spectacularly.

The Bastion also doesn’t work as a sole output of damage, the reason why the France comp in the video works f.e. is because they have the Junkrat with him to provide shield break so the Bastion can do some actual damage and not just spam shields. Junk is also a significant threat in his own right, making the two symbiotically cover for each other by providing immense pressure to the enemy from two directions. Add on top of that Zen’s discord and Mercy damage boost and you’ve got a functioning pirate ship. Though again as pointed out in the video, Sombra completely denies the entire comp and the enemy could honestly win on EMPs alone. Also not sure what Winston brings to the comp, yeah he’s got a shield but it’d be better to just swap him out for something else if you’re not gonna jump in and deny the enemy healing.

i wish the video went more in depth with all the bunker/pirate ship variations and how they were used competitively, like the teleporting bunker briefly seen in footage at the end. And how sigma was also incorporated. I know it's sort of implied and shown in footage, just not expanded more on. And also better explain how the bunker/pirate ship comp fell, which nerfs and buffs took it out of meta, how teams played around it and such.

My Favorite is still the BOSS-Comp (Symmetra, Bastion, Orissa). It was the counter against Goats. Sadly it was utilised to late to save Overwatch from the stupid 2-2-2 rule and huge amounts of nerf and other things to shut down a single comp.

Any time my team sees junkertown we lock in pirate ship. Torb, bastion, Orisa, rein, mercy, bap I place the torb turret under the bastion. This gives his backside some defense. I flank as torb and cause discourse in the team. Orisa body blocks and provides more turret spam. Our healers yell the whole time for having to heal all of us

With a tank being dropped in favour of a DPS, how DPS centric they made the game, completely removing teamwork in favour of DPS, making the RQ (which made the game far superior) pointless with tickets, it'll be hot fucking garbage

The most terrifying version of this is called BBOSS comp. Bastion, Baptiste, Orisa, Sigma, Symmetra Usually, with Zen for maximum backline poke pressure. It has all the elements of bunker comp, but the teleporter gives it mobility and access to high ground. Every character has insane synergy, and the teleporter gives you an additional angle when the poke/posturing phase takes place. You just orb the Bastion, so the self-heal does 120 per second, but once the team fight breaks out and they've closed distance, you orb the Symmetra because she becomes the real damage dealer once she's at full charge during the mid-fight. Also, if you turret bomb with the Bastion on top of the teleporter, anybody in that 10-meter range is getting slowed and bursted down, and the turrets can't be destroyed because his hitbox blocks them. This comp has worked in a 3900 lobby. The weakness is spam comps and a proper dive, both attacking from at least 3 angles (triangle) or more. Jiggle peaking with Junk or Hanzo really makes most areas a bunker sight-line wants to poke out, really untenable. Same with a proper hard-dive because you only have to break it once. It generally also has terrible objective presence if the positioning of the bunker is poor enough that they allow corners to be taken (the best barriers in the game) and Bastion can't free fire on people for being out in the open for an extended period of time.

When I first started playing Overwatch it was my friend who was a bastion main that got me into it, we played Pirate Ship comp every chance we got. I was usually the Mercy pocket but would also play Rein/Orissa. I feel like we won majority of the games we got it going with our randoms

To be fair when I played comp me and my friends would use this comp in the likes of Junkertown and it worked very well and it was fun. Just for for memes we'd put a Torjorn behind the bastion so if anyone tried to flank the turret would give a notification someone was there and open fire. It worked very well and was fun. Especially seeing teams get really annoyed and desperate trying to stop us.

From having played higher skill ranked games during this time I'll admit it wasn't fun at all. Especially on Junkertown it was the only thing people played, and since every is uncoordinated in pubs the only way to stand a chance was to turn a bunker comp of your own so it was just two teams running bunker cycling though shields. It very much felt like a coin toss of which teams shields was going to break first.

Hmm... I could see Pirate Ship going so many ways with the information that Akshon has just supplied. He said that Sombra was a direct counter to pirate ship meta... ok, nvrm. Sombra's hack didn't give a damage buff in OW1. That was a change made in OW2. I was thinking that a combination of Rein + Orisa Shield, Bap Lamp, Amp & Secondary Fire, Mercy going back and forth between damage boost and pocket healing, and Sombra hack would be a truly unbeatable strategy. Unfortunately, as stated earlier, Sombra hack didn't give a damage boost, and Rein is now the only Tank in OW2 that can place a shield on cart, as Orisa now has the Javelin Spin. If Orisa were to still have her shield from the OW1 days and couple it with Sombra's damage buff on OW2 hack, then it'd be the true unbeatable Pirate Ship Comp: Tanks: Rein, Orisa DPS: Sombra, Bastion Support: Bap, Mercy Alas, this cannot become a reality. I'm pretty sure Blizzard would see this as too game-breaking if they hadn't seen that already. (I have no idea if they'd changed Sombra's Hack to give a damage buff prior to changing Orisa's E and RClick abilities.)

Bastion, He could even heal himself for years to add whike in turret form lmao. Now he can't heal himself, but has a funny bouncy semi-sticky bomb as secondary fire, turret form last seconds and MOVE in the process as a regular ability, deals less damage per bullet but still a fast lide eater no differently from before, his Ult gives you full freedom to bombar anywhere in a limited time... 3 times, not making as much sense has having Dva being able to get her Meka to not kill herself by Ult blast anymore or how you can Spawn Meka back through a roof, but his Ult, like Junkrat, you can travel and choose where to blow off 3 air strikers, even through a roof in some building, Genji can reflect them if he looks up tho or be shielded just the same, is just an upward projectile qnd you can see it coming like Doomfist's Ult locking circle on the floor to each of the explosives but they land too fast, your only option is running away, only Tanks being hard victims of this damage if surviving it.

This is one out of every five games I play on OverWatch and by far one of the worst things about playing it. Unless you're high level teammates don't actually focus bastion and his DPS is so ridiculously high that we get shredded and lose. You have a shield in front of him and a mercy non-stop resing him it's impossible to play against. People say genji's deflect is a counter but all you have to do is stop shooting for 2 literally seconds and insta kill him after that. I'm glad they changed it in OverWatch 2 but truly baffled that they left something this broken in the game for this long
