Right now Rising is the game I'm putting the most time into besides Tekken 8. I really like the game but at the same time it's good to hear that they're thinking about broader improvements besides just adding more characters or w/e. The future looks bright.

Oh nice, it finally got reuploaded after being taken down 2 months ago. Originally at the start (00:19), it had Sen and Feather here, but now theyve been edited out. Not sure if it was an honest mistake and the editor included characters not related to GBVSR yet, or they accidentally included future characters in the previous upload

My take on that situation is that the only way the people editing these videos could have that kind of insider info regarding unannounced characters is if Sen and Feather were getting announced so soon in the near future that the announcement would have already happened during that two month period

I'm not so into the game but I must say it has an important role of motivating more of these "fg adaptation" projects that turn a 3rd party franchise into a fg. And Arcsys has been an example in this specific field since Hokuto no Ken and Sengoku Basara, and finally making many of these small games "Evo worthy" like Persona, DBFZ, GBFV, etc. Hopefully more companies are motivated to invest in fg adaptations, and also look for other fg companies like Capcom and Bamco... Otherwise this genre will be reduced to the same 30 old franchises.

@@scullyf2254 Nah, I'm always skeptical with arena fighters nowadays. Devs as well as fans have claimed that "this next one is gonna be different" which never happened. Even Kill La Kill IF was mid at best. And that was one of the better ones. I'll still try it but I have my doubts.

@@Nyagro Yeah I feel you on that, Instead of having the Soul Calibur team just be slaves to Tekken 8, they should have been the ones to make a Bleach fighter. I do think Rebirth of Souls is gonna be OKAY for an arena fighter tho, Tamsoft has some fighting game experience under them

@@Nyagro And Naruto and other animes. There is a good number of franchises with traditional fg potential. And even if some franchises don't look that good to get their own, just make an anime crossover so those franchises have room to appear.

Nerf DPs that haven't been nerfed yet, make 66L more punishable on whiff, remove plus frames from Belial 2m, give some counter play against Kat shield. Add more weapons and outfits for ranks over 500. Add a bug report feature for weird situations where moves don't work properly. Add optional chat/voice comm between players during fights.

Aside from balance, I think they should pay more attention to gameplay. I tried Strive and Rising and decided to stick with Strive. Rising doesn't punish blocking as much, and without Strive's wall-breaking mechanic, combat can be very passive in corners a lot of the time. Still, I think they can still outperform Strive, for example many of the characters in Strive have very few moves. Rising can take advantage of that and improve its combo-making.
