🎉i love the way UNI2 feels! One of the reasons it's currently my favorite game to play is because I prefer the 'gamefeel' of UNI2 more than the other games I enjoy. Guilty Gear Strive, Tekken 8, and Dragonball FighterZ, are all artistic & technical triumphs, but Under Night In-Birth is personally the most intuitive (which surprised me, because I didn't expect to love the way of mobility in Under Night 2 more than Melty Blood Type Lumina, to the extent that I do). The other reason UNI2 is my current favorite is because of its playable roster! Longrunning series Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Tekken, are full of characters that I prefer weren't in the games because I don't enjoy the matchup. With UNI2 however, there's nobody that I loathe having to fight! I started playing Under Night a few months ago, and to my surprise, characters that I had no interest in using are enjoyable. Waldstein is one of my favorite grapplers to use, and Enkidu has grown on me. Maybe I'll say the same about Mika in the future 😂. Guilty Gear Strive is full of characters I love, but I do avoid matching with Happy Chaos and Goldlewis. UZUKI is such a lovable menace! French Bread did an outstanding job with her! Thanks to all the devs at French Bread who have enriched my fighting game life 💖. I wish I had the capital needed to implement crossplay, to unify the players across all platforms!

@surrendering2within I remember them saying that, but if they want the game to be approachable for new players, they need to remove barriers that keep those new players from finding as many other new players as possible. As it stands, it feels like the pool doesn't have a shallow end, and that's a tough place to come up. If their primary design goal is to welcome new blood - a direction I wholeheartedly support - they need to re-evalute what "makes sense" monetarily to achieve the thing they say is most important to them.

From my limited, uninformed point of view, it does seem like a publisher unwilling to insist on crossplay is a publisher that has accepted an underwhelming fate for their fighting game. At the same time, I cannot say, with any certainty, that they aren't doing the best that they can. I do think a cultural difference of opinion exists. Over the years, I've gotten the impression that dev teams and/or publishers from Japan seem resolutely risk averse, regarding going over budget. Perhaps it has something to do with tempered expectations, or a radical acceptance of the amount of success the game receives without going over budget (we honestly can't know what UNI2 would be without whatever resources Arc System Works has injected as the publisher--in a different timeline, we might not have all the feature the game currently has, or ongoing support could look differently). The devs & publisher are aware of how much Strive has benefited from crossplay. What we don't know if they decided on a trade-off: "we will forego crossplay and instead use those resources for _________." Or, maybe crossplay is a still a possibility, but one that is contingent on the game reaching an undisclosed number of sales across all platforms before that becomes a sustainable option. Melty Blood Type Lumina was recently reported to have sold 500k without crossplay. We don't know what success looks like to French Bread🤷🏾‍♀️

It could mean the future of Melty Blood Type sub-series (the one in Remake timeline) could finally inherit remaining animations from UNI series & BBTAG (mostly some on hit animations, & actual ground recovery), rather than copy paste from DBFC, once UNI2 is finished. I don't mind if we ever going to see new DBFC sequel, an HD remake game comprised cast from Subtle Style fighting games Akatsuki & EN-Eins, or something very new.

I bought it recently And usually just play it when i get a beginner ping But its pretty fun My biggest criticism is that neutral feels kinda uninteresting But thats a noob perspective and I am not a fan of being unable to block or parry grounded attacks while airborne But thats a personal thing

how about reduce the price so other people actually get into it and have modes outside of online....like im sorry but devs are so short sighted when it comes to these anime fighters. Barrier of entry already is insane with getting beat down unless you're into that, then learning and having a niche community. They're the reason we still struggle with audiences in more niche titles. straight up. Maybe 1 hush hush fighting game sale and it's like in the middle of the year at evo & people gotta dig through titles & scroll just to find it. i LOVE fgs...but dude this is old.

if you bought mbtl, it's a discord fighter as of now due to uni being newer, if you want to catch random matchmaking fights, you should try from 3-9pm in your timezone.
