I' m thinking of putting a tarp on top of the trampoline I have in my backyard in order to train my budgie and for him to play around would that be fine? Since budgies are so lightweight the bottom of the trampoline can't bounce much. Cleaning also won't be a problem since I can just use a hose.

This is super late I have 3 in a cage similar to yours but a little bit smaller and they fight often so I’m getting them a bigger one for that reason but we also added a fourth to the household. For now he is in a separate cage to prevent any more fighting. Once the new cage is added it will be 60/34/17 which will be much more suitable for them.

The wire spacing is too far apart, a budgie can try to slip through the wires and either escape or get stuck, which can seriously hurt or kill them.

The equation is wrong! There is ALWAYS shared space birds that share one cage use, so the calculation CANNOT be linear, otherwise there is no point of having one shared cage for several birds and it'd make more sense to have one cage per bird.
