The spiritual core of the Vedas is contained in the Upanishads. Various texts by Adi Shankaracharya & his commentaries on Advaita Vedanta are the greatest source of knowledge for all humanity. Subhashji is correct when he says that many turning away from religion are on a path to discovering their true self or true nature. There's hope for humanity.

Absolutely you are on dot. Shri Kak is a Scientist and had spent a lot of time on studying Indian languages and Sanskrit. Also, I find many Rishies in the Ex-Muslim movements like Sachwala, Adam, Khorram, Apostate Imam, Zafar Herritic, Kaaliji, Azad Ground, Sahil, and many people like them. They knew there is a threat to their life and since they realised the purpose of the journey of their soul, they act according to their inner voice. There are so many of them in other countries, our neighbour Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran etc.

Toba Volcanic Ash cloud which brought Extreme Freezing & cold Vritrasura (Ash cloud) & Indra is Heat.
