With James Webb Space Telescope, astronomers are hoping to detect the galaxies that formed soon after the Big Bang. But this is about time. What about space? Albert Einstein "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." God gave this ability to Dr.Salman Hameed for explaining the most difficult concepts in simple Doc can you explain expansion speed of the universe like speed of light is 186,000 miles/sec ? You gave different explanations at your best likewise my answer for how big is our universe is universe is expending continuously,Its not a defined constant of X.Let say if my answer on monday is 10 gazillion light Years then on tuesday my answer will definitely be different

Thank you Adnan! As for your expansion question: The observable universe is, of course, increasing with the speed of light. But the overall expansion of the universe, it has had different speeds. As I mentioned before, it expanded really really fast during Inflation. And now it is also expanding fast - and this. is something we call Dark Energy (see this video on it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGGZooScgMaXedk).

Things don't "fall" in space. It would depend on the gravity of an object nearby - if there is one. And finite and infinite - is in terms of how big it is. It is independent of how the object would fall.

I sincerely hope that God Almighty has fixed the billions of years history frozen in front of our eyes. To know about the vastness and strangeness of the visible universe means God wants to show us how majestic could be the creator of this. Combined with a microscopic universe is more awesome. The things were too complicated for non Physicists or non Astronomers to understand. I had tried to watch dozen of lectures but only Your lectures and the lectures of Dr. Parvaiz Hoodbhoy's lectures enable me to enjoy the universe. Adeela - we don't exactly know. But astronomers think that "dark energy" may have the same process that led to inflation in the early fast expansion. There are different ideas on what is causing it (vacuum energy, quintescence etc. - see my video on Dark Energy), but so far we don't know.

It’s always great to see someone so passionate about his field of work. Btw shouldn’t we be more skeptical about the Big Bang theory; it’s a huge claim from the inhabitants of a tiny planet in the massive universe. Perhaps the idea of these big bangs happening more often in the whole universe leading to more new universe seems more plausible, doesn’t it?

One can make all kinds of claims - as long as they can be tested. Astronomers generally accept Big Bang as it has passed a number of predictions!
