With the XB7 or XB8 it will act as a WiFi mesh. I’m not sure if it can be hard wired from a XB7/XB8 when I get one I’ll share that info. Since it works with Verizon cell tower your speed will determined mostly from how close you are to a cell tower and placement in the home. Should be getting mine soon.

Hey! This is a good offering both for customer and for Comcast. For the battery backup needs, I went out and bought an APC backUPS for about $80 that will keep my modems up for several hours. I don't subscribe to Comcast for my broadband but rather use Lumen and a local fiber provider US Internet.

Can I use this as a stand alone WiFi? Cable is not available in my area but I can get cellular like a Verizon 5G whole house internet option.

For me is perfect I work from home and sometimes I loose power due to storms or even issue with my modem and I have to switch to WiFi knowing that I have this back up to at least allow me to let my boss know hey having issues I can stay on another hour perhaps but will loose power after that allows me to leave work but not get into trouble, companies used to be more lenient with computer issues for work from home folks now if is not their system going down they don’t care and will ding you for something you have 0 control over.

I feel that Comcast has chosen Verizon because Verizon is known for being worldwide compared to most, and have more coverage

I agree. I would also add that Verizon has been on a steady pace building out its plant for increased foot print and redundancy in multiple states. This would cement Verizon's coverage in many areas in the US market.

They also chose Verizon because Comcast the company owns the equipment that Verizon leases (from them) to make their network.

For the number of times I lose power, this wouldn't be a worthwhile service. With my luck, the battery backup on my cell tower would probably be bad!
