Can you do an update video? Can you show a test of how the storm ready works? If you discount the coax does it automatically kick in? Or does power need be off on the xb8? From my understanding you have to use xfinity WiFi and can’t use your own WiFi with the storm ready and the storm ready acts as a mesh network when normal operation? Is it good or crappy?

If the xfinity already had a router built in did you disable that and plug in your google router or did you just plug in your router to expand your signal and both units are used as a router ?

I didn’t disable it. I have some devices connected to it while utilizing my router for other devices.

Have you tired to rest the device?

mine will NOT connect to Bluetooth so I did the manual setup it said it was activating for 1h 45m and the whole time my internet was out. I stayed up until 12:45 to fix my internet and it knocked out 67 wifi devices and all my smart home stuff.

Great video. Was this the XB8? I recently got 2gig speed as well but phone speed never goes past 600mbps but I saw yours going over 1000 over WiFi as it should be.

Thank you. This is the XB-8T. The WiFi speed can vary depending on what other devices/signals you have around you when you test it. The get a “real” speed test, you would have to wire a laptop or computer directly into the modem and run a speed test.

My main router is at 1st floor home. Is it ok to put WiFi storm ready at 2nd floor home?
@MonsterGadgets8 ай бұрын
If it’s directly over, it should be fine but it really should be within sight near a window.

Canada has the worst internet prices, Zero competition! That needs to change!

As a Comcast technician, dont get the 2GB plan. Most of your devices wont be able to handle anywhere near that speed. Its only advantage is that the price difference between plans is so small these days because it doesnt cost a provider anything to have you on 2GB or 2Mgb

My experience with Comcast installers is that they are more or less clueless and do a default install. They are basically wire pullers. Furthermore they aren't backed up by competent technicians and customers often end up scratching their heads. As it happens I'm a former software engineer who spent a couple of years working as a networking engineer and I sorted things out after the installer left but it was still a pain-N-de-A$$. It's getting harder and harder to get through to technical support at Comcrash and they really need to do better.

Agreed but not many options out there for high speed internet with unlimited data

oh yes, the old software and network engineer. You guys are usually the worst clients. Ego like Trump, actual reasoning and common sense skills of a 13 year old on her period Its hard for a technician to be incompetent at this job unless its a new tech, because the job is simple. Like, there isnt much to it. And the only thing we actually dont do is pull cable inside walls. We refer to this as post-wire or inside-wiring, etc. Thats actually the only thing we dont do as that is contracted to 3rd parties or done by the landlord I'd wager the clueless one is you. If you have a comcast signal connected to your modem, everything else should be simple If you're having issues even after several tech visits, thats also a YOU problem. Not Comcast. Nobody just wants to tell you this because it might hurt your feelers and we might get in trouble due to your blaming/etc. It could be your house wiring, could be your equipment, could be your neighbor, could be something else. Most of these things Comcast is not responsible for, but the technician wont tell you. If you're very nice to the technician and offer something something for them to make it worthwhile, some technicians might break the protocol and try to fix the root of your problem (again, we dont have to, but we oftentimes do, just depending on the situation). Usually experienced technicians highly dislike rude/demanding clients and know many ways to cancel a job and just go to the next because the stress and negative reviews and relatively little pay (if its alot of work) is just not worth it. Also, every provider is like that. Makes no difference. Its all situation based. You might have a bad experience with Comcast, but a great one with Verizon. While your neighbor might be the other way around. And generally, clients with IT backgrounds are not the worst but some of the worst because they think they know everything
