Loved this style my whole life - as someone who wore this style often in the late 90s and early 2000s, a lot of folks just thought of this as "romantic" goth as opposed to early cyber/industrial goths, punks, emos, and the other aesthetics. I shopped a lot at Store of Knowledge and World Market for decor at that time. They were some of the only places that had astrology and celestial styled items.

Curious about why you chose to look at only Whimsical + Goth as opposed to its original naming of "Whimsical Mystical Gothic Celestial”. Granted, whimsical and Gothic are probably the main components of the aesthetic.
