Legit don’t mind you pausing and rewinding the episodes. 86 definitely isn’t an anime you can watch in one showing, and you can miss some bits occasionally. It’s slow paced for now, but it definitely picks up in later episodes. It’s more ‘show not tell’ literally, so you pausing and rewinding will definitely help in later episodes.

@@ericjoel5363 I think 'Underwatched' would be a much better term to put it If that makes sense.. but don't get me wrong, I still meant it in a complimenting way because it's good to see more people including Darius give it the attention it deserves since it's airing. I don't expect it to be mainstream levels of exposure but it's amusing to see more people's AO perception and interpret it in their own interesting ways as the show progresses, which is why I'm really enjoying Darius' reaction so far since he's really 'taken in' by the show and getting the details from it very well.

Very happy to see you are reacting to 86 after Mushoku Tensei. They are most top 2 favorite anime of 2021. Just want to point out certain things in Ep. 1 and 2 since you didn't comment on them... - Did you notice how thin and worthless the armor is on the Juggernaut? Shin is able to cut out pieces of it with a combat knife. Do you think it will stop a Legion bullet? - Lena and the Alba are eating mostly artificial food and supplement pills (ep. 1 breakfast scene), while the Eighty Six have real meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, and bake their own cake. The difference between being crammed inside a walled city and living in the fields outside it. - Don't skip the opening and endings. The opening changes to matches the current state of the story. The ending is unique to each episode and uses motifs heavily to emphasis the theme of each episode. It's part of the story telling. - This show loves symbolism and pays great attention to details. Watch every scene carefully.

Lena is a bit of a flawed character, for an example she's very naive. Eventually Lena will get absolutely amazing character development and the story will get even better. After episode 3 is where I think the show really starts.

The reason why Lena can be more open in her defiance against the Republic is because her family. While the San Magnolian royalty and nobility was sacked hundreds of years prior, Lena is from one of the Alba races called the Celena, which is comprised of the former nobility of the country (this is something that is not made clear in the anime but is explicitly laid out in the LN). Therefore, Lena is of a higher social status than most in San Magnolia. Further, her father is seen as a military hero, and she’s close family friends with Brigadier General Karlstahl, which, along with her intelligence, is why she’s ascended to the rank of Major at the young age of 16. All these things together is why Lena would get nothing more than a stern lecture over her sharing her views of the 86 instead of being made to disappear.

ehm basically… the 86 is a district where are many kinds of people like 'racewise' the San Magnolia is something like capital city of albino people with white hair _(the show is pretty much about racism)_ the citiezens are told that the 86ters are just robots like drones they don't know that there are real people piloting the things so they call them 'procesorss' cause people believes in lies… also Military see those 'Procesorss' like trash of humanity which is better of dead so they don't even pay much attention to their lives and are just like 'yeah another robot dead whatever' just because they look different they are considered not needed. Handlers are like caretakers of strategies and they send them to dead all the time they use the not needed people to protect their state~~ They take care of battlefield view and are giving the orders to the processors throught the ear implants which is something like comunication. Mamy handlers don't care but Lena is aware of the fact they are living human beings and tries to understand and befriend them also all 86 are like teenager cause they can not live long live because they are dying on battlefield it's really deep and I cried a LOT during the episodes cause all chatacters are so likable I can't wait for another episodes please tell me u gonna watch rest of the eps as well pleaseee 😭
