They are not kpop, Forestella is a crossover group. The crossover genre encompasses many styles of music and merges them with classical music. 2 members of Forestella are Opera singers with a degree in vocal music, 1 is a rock singer and the last one is a musical theater actor and singer

Loved your reaction and appreciation for this work of art! It was composed for Forestella by Valensia, who is heavily influenced by Queen. Forestella is a Korean classical crossover group famous for their complex harmonies, made up of a basso profundo, a rocker/countertenor, musical actor/baritenor, and classically trained lyrical tenor. They're actually well-known for their cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody," as well as performances of classics including "Je Suis Malade," "Time in a Bottle," and "Hijo de la Luna" and pop songs including "Bad Romance" and "Shape of You." It is different from Kpop songs because Utopia is a rock opera. Forestella is an cross over group that has a strong musicality and shows a good guality of performance as they sing. Thank you for bringing Utopia for the reaction and thsnk you for the appreciation of the song although it is not your taste. Forestella has covered so many great songs in their way such as shape of you , fake love . Mama, bad romance and so on. You can check them out. The range of the fans for Forestella is from teens to sixties in Korea as well as in the world. Soon they are touring in Canada and USA.

Well, for a complete understanding of the song and video of Utopia you need to see first "Save our lives" because these songs are part of a trilogy, acts 1, 2 and 3 are on "Save our lives" 4, 5, 6 are in Utopia, the rest maybe is a work on progress.

Forestella was under a small agency classic music focused after the audition show Phantom Singer 2. They moved to current company Beat Interactive in 2021, which has an idol group A.C.E (now in hiatus for military service). This changed their styling and promotion, fan management and global marketing in more Kpop way. As crossover music means crossing over different genres, singing styles and languages etc, they could broaden their music adventure better than under ex-agency -I'll write it AnA, it is Arts & Artists. Fortunately AnA supported good musicians to work with, their music has never been disappointing. I think you'll love their Time in a bottle because it has beautiful guitar intro. To watch authentic rock opera, I recommend Lazenca Save us. Some said their mash-up Dies irae part melody reminding the operatic intro from MAMA.. I almost forgot to say, they have Kpop covers you are familiar with, very short cover for That That and Fake Love (about 1min long) and full song cover for Stand by me (of SHINee) other than EXO's MAMA. The leader and classically trained leggiero tenor Cho MinGyu has a solo cover for Kill This Love feat. Harry Potter vibe in his channel.

you should check out their cover of bohwmian rhapsody, it's outstanding, they sing in different languages too such as spanish (maldita sea mi suerte), italian (parla piu piano, the godfather ost), french (je suis malade, serge lama cover) even agrican zulu (cover of shape of you) Actually, the composer of this song is a HUGE Queen fan so he made it to sound like them, and it's about a city in my country!! If tou wanna hear their amazing harmonies check out scarabourgh fair!! There's a classically trained bass, classically trained leggero tenor, a baritone musical actor and, believe or not, the counter tenor has no previous training, he's a beast, he even did a whole solo on the phantom of the opera duetto

One last thing. LOL😂 Forestella will have North American tour. They will hold solo concerts in Los Angeles on January 20, Vancouver on January 26, New York on January 29, Dallas on February 1, and Atlanta on February 5. If you can go, don't miss it. Because their live singing is a way better than any recording.

Try FORESTELLA's newest cover "MAMA (Original EXO) which was released at the same time as "Utopia" at turn of the year 22/23. FORESTELLA is very versatile and perhaps, you will still find access to the "Forestella style", with the excellent rendition of this legendary song.

FORESTELLA are considered "kings of harmonies". They cover top songs of all genres in different styles, adding their own flavors, making each song their own, always respecting the original. They just turned "Bad Romance" upside down with their new version, which went viral. Technically highly qualified, they are able to produce (always live!) the most incredible sounds. 4 singers can sound like 40. Their own original m/v's are on a completely different level, here they can really show what peak performance they are capable of vocally and technically.

I wrote alot... I can't believe still left more to say! Forestella did MJ covers too.. they don't dance in usual as they are (classical) crossover vocal quartet. But when the song needs dance to be completed, they do. They practiced dance 6 hours a day for weeks to suit Smooth Criminal. It would be the closest thing from Forestella to what you see in kpop, I think. Forestella did sing in pitch perfect harmony while dancing. Other than Smooth Criminal, they sang Heal the World in Immortal Songs (I won't be explaining about this show now...maybe in another time) and Thriller in their 3rd album. TBH any song by Forestella is good, just even better when you know the original they covered. They made me love some songs I didn't like the original so much. Please take a watch their Shape of you (of Ed Sheeran) in English, Spanish and isiZulu.

Thank you for your honest reaction! I checked your playlist and could guess you might be interested in their MAMA cover, originally from EXO. But seems you need to watch the original again as your reaction to MAMA was 3, 4 years ago. And the m/v for MAMA had some sorts in common with Forestella's m/v for their original song Save our lives. The difference is Forestella taking 4 elements concept and the tree is World Tree.. actually these concepts were inspired from their concert talk and group naming, so interesting coincidence it was! Via TikTok Forestella went viral with Hijo de la Luna and Bad Romance. Those are totally different songs and they nailed each. Check their versatility and creativity on masterpieces. I know I'm writing too long already but please take a look my long long info text about them.. This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us in King of Kings and Unwritten Legend too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible. Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. Recently they sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their new original song Utopia is a must check. Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia!

Thank you for your honest reaction to this phenomenal song. It's a pity that it corresponds to your style of music, but of course that is to be respected, and you still appreciate first-class performance. As you've noticed, this isn't K- "P O P" as is commonly expected. Forestella was, is and remains a classic crossover vocal group (in the field of pop/rock/opera) and an "exotic" in every musical genre (they can't really be classified) and perhaps one of the pioneers for new sound experiences. With a focus on blending genres and styles, her trademarks are her unsurpassed vocal skills and harmonies. I can accept that this is not for everyone and fortunately tastes vary greatly. So thank you for recognizing Forestella's performance.

Since they are a crossover group, they bring almost every genre with their own color. They surprise everyone with a new form of music. However, the more you listen to their songs, the more you will gradually come to creatively unique and addictive music from an unfamiliar feeling. First of all, thank you for watching until the end despite the difference in taste. It seems that this song reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody because the composer, Valensia, follows the musical color of 'QUEEN' a lot. I agree that it is a difficult song with a lot of vocal changes. When I first heard it, I couldn't get my head around what song I was listening to. 😅

Haha they actually do a great cover of Bohemian Rhapsody. I love Forestella but tbh this isn’t my fav of theirs. They aren’t really K-pop, actually a classical crossover quartet. Check out their covers of Bad Romance, Hijo De La Luna, Je Suis Malade. One of my personal favs is Lazenca Save Us - sooooo epic.

Hi!! I know it has been a while since you listened this, but just to explain in case no one else did, this is part two of a trilogy, First part is Save our lives (act 1 to 3) Second Utopia (act 4 to 6), third part is yet to come out, if you want to listen to Save our Lives it is less information, but great. White Night is beautiful, also their covers in Bohemian Rhapsody, Bad Romance, Scarborough fair are great!!! Enjoy!!

Queen inspired Rock Opera for sure... But that's not all they do. As a crossover vocal group, you can expect everything from Italian pop to 90's hip hop. They refuse to be saddled with a particular genre (or language). Individually, you wouldn't think their voices would mesh, but when they sing together something magical happens. IMHO they are better live than in a studio, so check out some of their competition performances. (Especially anything on Immortal Songs).
