The shrine this video was shot at contains 1 of the 5 swords of Japan. Another one is with the royal family and 2 are on display at the Japanese Imperial Museum. They say the 5th sword is in the Heavens. The shrine is where the last 5 samurai of the last Shogunate took their final stand against the Japanese Imperial Army. As the old saying goes, "don't bring a knife to a gun fight!" The 5 samurai lost their lives. Just a brief synopsis. Really appreciated your reaction and review!!!

Thank you for featuring Hagane (pronounced HA-ga-neh). They have to be considered one of the hot, up and coming groups, though they had to go through a major reboot in 2023. They were originally a five-piece with dual leads; they have recently re-formed as a four piece (more on that below). The initial lineup came together in 2018, just as they were all finishing high school. Founding guitarist Sakura had been posting metal covers on youtube since she was 14, and gained notoriety as a technical beast with a taste for ferocious shredding. That is how most of the other band-members found her. Original lineup: Vocal: Chiemi Guitar : Sakura Yoshida (also writes and arranges most of the music) Guitar : Mayto Bass : Sayaka Drum : Kanako Takahashi (b. 2001) In 2019, Chiemi left and was replaced by Uyu. The band released three concert DVDs and a full-length album (“Code 9021”) during her tenure. Guitars: Sakura Bass: Sayaka Drums: Junna Vocals: Nagi Hagane are clearly playing in a similar space as groups like Mary’s Blood, Bridear, Nemophila and Lovebites-melodic, hard, heavy and technical. Early on, however, they developed their own signature sound, built around exotic scales, syncopated rhythms and the aforementioned high-octane shredding. The songwriting is mature, far beyond what you should be able to expect from a bunch of people this young. The new lineup have released an EP, “Life Goes On”, with five tracks including an instrumental. Despite not having the dual attack, it looks like they haven’t lost a step-Junna is insane as ever and Sakura is just on fire. Other bandmembers: Uyu already has her own band, which is largely focusing on covers of other metal groups, especially Babymetal. She is also working with Mayto on a project-we’ll see if it turns into something long term. Both Mayto and Kanako have worked on other projects. They are elite musicians and should have no trouble landing with other bands if they choose to.

Junna (joon-na) is a very different style of drummer than Haruna. Watch Junna’s drum cover of Through The Fire And Flames; her ferocity is intimidating. She also played with TRIDENT previously. Yoshida Sakura is a teen guitar prodigy. She has been posting videos on her own channel for years. 天下 is equivalent to “in the world.” 天下一 (ten-ka-ichi) is a common expression meaning “world’s best/best in the world.”

This was not Junna's first band. She was in (at least) one other band, Trident, which originally formed in 2013 as "Girls Rock Band Kakumei" with Junna as a founding member. Junna left Trident in 2020, joining Hagane shortly thereafter.

Hagane is the Japanese word for Steel!!! Members are; Sakura, founder, guitarist 🎸, composer and lyricist; Sayaka, bass and the only member aside from Sakura, who didn't leave Hagane when the other 3 members did; Junna on drums 🥁, who started our with drum covers on KZbin, was in the band Trident and was also the drummer for Marty Friedman (ex Megadeth guitarist 🎸), highly sought after studio and session/touring drummer; Nagaki (Naga), vocals. My understanding this is her first time in a band.

It is truly amazing how gifted Japanese musicians are. It's a shame we here in the states are left with "top 40" crap on the radio. I can't recall the last time I even listened to a radio station. There's at least 10-15 bands (If not more) in Japan that are superior to anything here.
