some context for you. this song is about girl luring a man into suicide. The girl is thanatos and she makes death looks really fun and happy. in one of the lyrics it says "owarini shitai ta nante sa. sorarete koto ba ni shita toki. kimi wa hajimete waratta" it means. "i want to end it all, and the moment after is says that, you start to smile" they look very happy in the music video but in the end they are dead. That music videos capture the meaning of the song perfectly

Yeah those pink strips covering their eyes in the thumbnail is what drew me to the original video

the original music video is animated, the song is uplifting, however the lyrics paint a much different picture. yoasobi (the artist) is known for making many popular songs that are bangers but very deep. some notable examples are The Blessing, Monster, and Idol.

basically the original song is about a guy who saves a girl who is about to jump off a roof. they fall in love but they end up both killing themselves.

This is not the original video. And most people seem to like “The Home Take” version better. It’s slower, cleaner and you can enjoy the incredible quality of her singing more. Plus you see Ikura sing, and she is a wonderfully engaging performer to watch, beautiful, sweet and totally in the zone. Think a 20 year old Japanese Stevie Nicks with the lightest, most naturally controlled voice. And you have to see dance battle video that’s out there of This that’s amazing.
