The Drycycle is a very interesting vehicle. We need things like this to encourage more people to stop using ICE cars. Many won't take up cycling for lots of reasons but the Drycycle is addressing those concerns. The name is very good, in itself it addresses one of the concerns people have about cycling. I hope the Drycycle does well!

Looks neat; I have a PEBL which is very very similar (and enclosed e-trike) which starts at about $9,000. This looks to have more custom pieces for it, which might explain the higher price tag. For me, I don't use the PEBL on nice days, but on days like yesterday when it was 1 C, windy and rainy I could stay nice and warm while biking.

Hello john. I think the price is well to high, look at Podbike, the Norwegian pedal assist electric bike 1/3 of the price and also almost 1/3 of the wight. I have a pre orders of one and I am looking forward to a bigger test next year. Still love my quest so it will be a hard decision to "what will I choose". Interesting new bike. There seem to be quite a few new E.bikes deriving from velomobile ideas.The Norwegian Podbike I already have ordered.... it is 60 kg aiming for 55, But the price tag is 1/3 of DryCycle. At 38 " in your video there is an adjustable steering stem, also interesting, I have used a similar patent with suspension some 15 years ago...still working.

Looks nice! I would think it would be better served with a Di Vinci hub so you do have to pedal to change gears. Price is too high -- The ELF and PEBL are cheaper in US and you can also get the Arcimoto that starts at approx 12k US - no pedalling and rd legal - sorry my need to keep dry and pedal something should not cost that much. Hope you get to do a proper review - look forward to hearing more about it. I wish them all the best. Cheers

How fast does the Dry-cycle velomobile go? Not to say that it’s fascinating and cool looking and I love the concept idea, but obviously your not going to go anywhere fast in that vehicle, and I agree with everyone that it’s way too expensive to purchase alone if you want to compete with cars alone. Plus the size alone will make it a challenge to store securely alone, though if you thought about putting fat tires on a velomobile to give it a more off road terrain, I think there’d be a market in a pedaled power ATV what do you think?
@artofwarandpeace91265 жыл бұрын
I think an E-rocket bycycle design would be beneficial. A heavy wheel to assist in turning the motor. No battery just infinite range.
@coniow5 жыл бұрын
A really interesting design. I am impressed by the amount of testing that has gone into it, and the thought that went into the design, BUT, (always the but!), as most others have said, the price is high. I really hope that they can make a Go of it, but if Toyota ever DO bring the iRoad to market, with a price expected to be sub £15,000, I would think it could scupper the Drycycle :-( As for market: Most folks that like the conventional torpedo/bobsleigh shape would not go for it, and those that do like the upright design would feel uncomfortable at the thought of sliding DOWN into a tadpole. Look forward to your review John! The place I could visualise these would be in one of those "Retirement Communities" that are cropping up in the US. The trouble is, I don't think there are any in the UK.
@dejayrezme86174 жыл бұрын
Neat! But it seems way too expensive. I think if they are targeting a high price market they should make it look more luxurious instead of the somewhat gaudy yellow. Could you make a video about your thoughts on the PodBike? I think that has a few interesting developments in regards to electric transmission and efficient motors. I guess it's not that interesting form a sports perspective but I think it's great as a small EV for everyday people. Easy to get in and out of too. Thanks for your videos!

@aaronpropes91345 жыл бұрын
It is - but you'll find most other companies that have similar products sell theirs at similar pricepoints. The problem seems to be that in order to make them cheaper you need more mass production, but there simply isn't a market for them. So they get hand built and are really expensive. Bigger manufacturers have made prototypes of enclosed bikes but never produced them. I'm sure they'd love to be able to sell 50,000 a year so they could drop the price by £10,000 - but it's just not going to happen, at least not yet.

It cost twice as much as a high end velombile. For that money, you expect decent range, at minimum 200-300 miles per charge. It closely resembles bluevelo's e assisted hornet velomobile. @aaronpropes91345 жыл бұрын
Which weather condition? I could see the battery size being an issue, depending on the ride length, when it hits freezing and battery life is impacted. But it should be able to handle rain and snow. If it's particularly icy you might have issues finding studded tires for wheels that size, but short of nasty storms it should be OK.

Law needs to change on Ebikes up to 500W like in other countries . The additional power makes more sense and isn't overkill like a motoribke . you still get your exercise but at a higher speed in line with traffic . 25mph isn't super sonic speed but enough to keep the flow of traffic going . Bigger velomobiles, trailers etc would also benefit . Im srry but 250W sucks balls .
@LeesChannel5 жыл бұрын
Here in the US the limit is 750W, and pedelecs can go up to 28 mph. Edit: But anything with four or more wheels and a motor is legally a car here. A QuattroVelo with e-assist would be illegal because it doesn't have airbags, padded steering wheel, crush zones, certification, etc., and you'd need a driver's license and insurance.
