The problem with the whole idea of total moral inability, Is that it contradicts what the author of Romans says later. In chapter ten, Paul gives the solution: Faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God. Yes, left to ourselves we would never seek God. The scripture says that God came to seek and say that which was lost. And he gave His all powerful word, which is able to save to the uttermost.

One condition of Total depravity is the inability to acknowledge that you need to be saved. Humanity isn't going to come to God if it doesn't see a need or reason too

@@RDRGUY15 The problem is that none of the early church fathers taught total depravity. This idea did not exist until Augustine. What the Bible teaches is that we are dead and our sins. Not that we are unable to respond to the call of God. God is the one who saved to the uttermost. you merely have to respond. Jesus spoke in parables so they could not understand him. This means that they were able to accept Him and believe.

Thats considered grieving the Holy Spirit. Its definitely possible to believe but the choice alone is ours

@@brianschmidt704Logically, can you choose anything but death when you are dead? No. Our spiritual souls are dead when our earthly body is born. Death is darkness and is total separation from light. Who is the light? The Holy Trinity. Our spiritual souls are completely separate from God and can’t choose Him because we are dead. So, it really does take the work of the Holy Trinity to make our souls alive. What an awesome thing to behold when you realize this and that you were one of the sheep that the Father called, the Son kept and His Holy Spirit began a good work in you to see you restored to spiritual life and persevere to the last day. Covenantally speaking, does God make a covenant and make promises of deliverance to everyone? No. He didn’t in the Old Testament and He didn’t in the New Testament? If did offer it to everyone then He would not be the same God. Scripturally, God is omnipotent, omniscient, and never changing. That is why we as His sheep can always trust Him through His covenant promises and His precious gift of grace that we have no way of earning and don’t deserve. Blessings to you.

@CarisaGrefe But scripturally what you said is not true. God promised in the prophet joel that he would pour out his spirit on all mankind. In Revelation it describes people from every tribe and nation in heaven praising God. What you are saying is that faith proceeds belief. But Romans tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God. And Jesus told His disciples that He spoke in parables so they would not understand and believe. That means that they were able to believe already.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And there upon the cross, Jesus Christ, in giving His life unto the death, shedding His blood to make the only atonement for our sins, has purged the guilt of sin from us, and He has clothed us with His perfect righteousness. We now are presented before the throne of grace, and we receive full and perfect acceptance with God. If we take away the doctrine of total depravity in all of its fullness, we diminish the glory of the cross. But when we see the darkness of sin and the depravity of the human soul, we can hear the gospel of Jesus Christ: that He came into this world to save sinners. And we rejoice that God would have grace and mercy on hell-bound sinners like us and praise Him for His grace.

Great video on total depravity. Like RC Sproul once stated. "Your a rock at the bottom of a pool and unless God acts, you are at the bottom forever. ". So, God quickens His Elect to hear His voice thru the Spirit . That’s what born again is all about. Spiritually dead in Adam. Spiritually made alive in in Christ. With that quickening, God causes you to repent II Tim 2:24,25 while drawing you to the Son. From death and blindness to Jesus, there is nothing to commend in a spiritually dead human. No works, no morality, nothing. Romans 3 covers that nicely and Romans 8:7 ( as mentioned covers it better). "The carnal man ( dead) is at enmity with God. He is not subject to the law of God, NEITHER INDEED CAN BE." TOTAL INABILITY BECAUSE TOTALLY DEAD.

@user-xz1cc7cy9q, This is the error of Calvinism, it is not the descendants of Adam that are totally depraved after the fall of Adam and Eve.. but they are the descendants of Cain that are totally depraved. Cain is the seed of the serpent(devil) as mentioned in Genesis 3:15..

We know that Satan was cast out of Heaven and down to the earth knowing he has a short time to deceive the nations. In 2 Corinthians 4, Satan is referred to as the God of this system of things, blinding the minds of the unbelievers. Revelation 12:9. Down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited Earth. Woe to the earth and the sea, He has great anger knowing that he has a short time to deceive the nations. He is referred to as the God of this system of things. Rev 12:12. In 1 John 5:19, it says… we know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

God loves us all always. Sin separates us from the love of God. Jesus manifest so we believe in God our Father in heaven. God's good characters can manifest in us. The HOLY SPIRIT will guide us. We need to be totally surrendered to the will of God. Godly mind, Godly children, Godly living

You say God loves us all, always? Are you sure about that statement? Those who reject Christ remain at enmity with God, estranged from God, and objects both of His wrath and of His abhorrence. Whatever kind of love God has for the impenitent, it does not exclude His just hatred and abhorrence of them, which stands in stark contrast to His redeeming love. Where in Scripture do we find this notion of the unconditional love of God? If God's love is absolutely unconditional, why do we tell people that they have to repent and have faith in order to be saved?

I disagree with Jeff near 14:32 mark. We are definitely totally depraved with inability to get saved on our own. Jeff says we can't persevere after we are saved and would lose our salvation if total depravity were true. That example is not true. When God saves us in Christ Jesus, we get the new heart, the new "man". God will save us through our Sanctification and if necessary will kill you if you fall so far away in order to save you. See Annanias and Sephora in Acts. They lied and were killed but they didn't lose their Salvation, just their lives. We persevere because God takes us through temptations and trials to the other side and the Holy Spirit as the earnest keeps us saved.

I usually like listening to your videos? But you entirely missed the mark on this one. Calvinism is biblical and any other form is unbiblical. truth based on the bible and all others are error. You rightly described it as an inability. There is none who seeks after god. Consequently regeneration is necessary in order to believe. You describe it well but then muddle it up with confusing errors
