I've been studying French for some years and can read books and watch films and TV in French, but for some reason I still really struggle to understand your videos. This one is typical, as it seems to hardly contain any real 'words' just people saying , oui, non, si a lot. I'm not sure how this helps anyone to learn French. I know you will say that this is real French that people actually speak, but it all becomes a blur!

if someone asked me if i was a typical american, i would certainly not say i was. Maybe its easier to self identify when your countries culture is so strong

I can't help noticing that the French are more internationaly orientated than they use to be. Many respond in English when I adress them in French, which is very helpfull to facilate the conversation (je sais, mon français est assez rouillé), but it doesn't help me to improve my French 😉.

La France me manque terriblement. Le simple fait de dire bonjour quand on entre dans un magasin ou quand on prend un taxi, entendre des gens autour de vous parler français, avoir des collègues français au travail, l'architecture, la bonne boufe, la proximité avec l'Europe, le transport en commun, les cafés trotoires, etc. Merci pour la France de m'avoir offert 8 ans absolument magic où je me suis complètement régalée!

J'ai vécu en France pendant 4 ans et j'avais remarqué chez les Français une joie de vivre et une appréciation des choses simples comme la bonne bouffe (en plein air si le temps le permettait) en compagnie des copains ou de la famille. On pouvait passer des heures à table ! Que c'était extra ! La France me manque tellement !
