I hope you do research ways to stop the cannula tubing from twisting around itself especially the part going from your nostrils to the bottom of your neck. Are there any hacks or attachments that can prevent this from occurring? It happens as a result of turning certain directions & ways and just normal travelling about the house. I notice that the flow of oxygen is reduced greatly according to how twisted the line is. It also happens to the 25ft tubing. Don't they have tubing with some sort of spring wrapped around the outside of the tubing? I used to have my paint spray gun hose encased by a spring which made it twist & kink free. Why can't they invent that for oxygen tubing?

You are not alone in being annoyed with this situation! It's a common complaint. There are a couple of companies working on solutions to automatically coil and pay out oxygen tubing as someone moves around the house. There is also a manufacturer that makes coiled tubing, so it springs back and forth. Hope this helps!

What a waste of time! It takes her way to long to get to her points. On top of that, she feels qualified to pass judgement on caregivers without knowledge or qualifications.

It took her 6 minutes to get to the first tip - keep your oxygen ON especially when being active: going to the bathroom, etc.

Thank you for the information given . I will look into how to shower with the nasal cannula properly will not remove it even when going to use the bathroom.

I'm on constant flow home concentrator set at 5 liters per minute & am here to tell you it is very dangerous to remove your cannula while taking a shower. I have no grab bars in my bathtub and tried removing my cannula 5 years ago when I first started using compressor made oxygen and want to say I saw stars and almost went down in the tub. Not a good practice to attempt doing even dishes without wearing it.

I do the opposite. I remove my nasal cannula while sitting or lying and put it on before I start moving. I have three pulse oximeters, one for the bedroom, one for the bathroom, and one for the living area (and all can be used for outside travel). I often check my O2 and heart rate and can feel when I need it and when I'm back up to good levels. I check to make sure of what I'm feeling.

Was hoping video would show how to properly put in a cannula. Can’t tell how you have yours on but look upside down.

I know of people that show up to respiratory therapist not wearing a temporary unit or connected to their air tank. Walk in with it connected go to the office and it's connected go through their doctors report as connected. They're leaving disconnected and put it in trunk of their car never put it back on till they show up again.

I wish I could do that. I would die within 10 minutes if I didn't have my oxygen on. They sound like they are riding the system for free medical care.

I just started using oxygen at night a week ago. when I sleep and it comes out during the night. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on what to do. Also is it supposed to hurt my nose and cause a sore. I called the ppl that I got it from and they said I had to talk to my dr but I don’t see him for a few more months.
