What is the value of realizing our true divine nature? Why do we stop realizing it? Or is it that we never did realize it to begin with? If we never realized it to begin with are we in some evolutionary process through a progression of incarnations to finally arrive at realization? Can Vedanta make the ceaseless incarnations unnecessary? Does it provide the solution to the suffering we invariably grapple with during each incarnation, in other words bring salvation?

Meditate and answer these questions. Don’t look for authority outside of you

Namaste “What is the value of realizing our true divine nature?” The philosophical answer is - Our nature is Existence-Consciousness-Value. It is not Existence and or Consciousness and or Value of any thing, but it is Existence per se - Consciousness per se - Value per se. It is the Ontology - Epistemology - Axiology merged as the only One without a Second, without a hierarchy. There is no worldly value to be gained here. The promise of Advaita Vedanta is this - “You only gain what you always had, you only lose what you never had”. The psychological answer, if you insist on a worldly value, is that it will end suffering. “Why do we stop realizing it?” Due to Ignorance, we do not stop realizing it; ‘we’ ‘begin’ by not realizing it. Birth as body-mind is due to the ignorance of our divine nature. “Or is it that we never did realize it to begin with?” Ignorance is without beginning; the terminology is ‘Anadi’ = beginningless. “If we never realized it to begin with are we in some evolutionary process through a progression of incarnations to finally arrive at realization?” Evolution has nothing to do with it. There is no Teleology for evolution. Evolution is not a journey from what is to what ought to be, it is just the survival of the fittest. If the survivor from the next meteor is the cockroach, then the end product of evolution would be cockroach, not humans. Evolution is not any guarantee for realization. “Can Vedanta make the ceaseless incarnations unnecessary?” Yes. “Does it provide the solution to the suffering we invariably grapple with during each incarnation, in other words bring salvation?” Yes, in fact it is the only way to the solution for you now. All religions promise solution to the suffering and salvation after your death. Science promises solution to the suffering and salvation for your future generations. Advaita Vedants is the only teaching that provides solution to the suffering and salvation in your present life, right now, right here - the terminology for it is ‘Jivanmukta’ = free while living. IMHO .

In a word, Vedanta is JUNK - refined JUNK, but junk nonetheless - gets you nowhere, and to its credit doesn’t claim to.
