I think this also works because McDonald's brand has already been well established for years. If a new brand goes outside of its guidelines then its identity is less solidified.

It's not a marketing campaign is they aren't telling anyone what it is. There's no anime bags here, just upside down logos with japanese writing. My wife thought they got their packaging supplies mixed up with japanese McD's Doordash doesn't have anything about it on the MD's storefront. Seems REALLY stupid,
