You are fortunate to have come to understand this at such a young age. As an old bloke I enjoyed this very much.

How Socrates' story isnt mandated reading material in school is beyond me! Beautiful description of how Socrates was trying to get "underneath" things. That skill alone makes a world of difference. Once you learn to dig a layer deeper, nothing can stop you from digging to the bottom of anything.

If you ask me. Todays youth need a little more corrupting from the man himself.

I love what you mentioned about arrogance. After my mission I felt uneasy because the truth claims I believed in and that I had made for my whole mission (and whole life) began to seem so arrogant to me. I think it’s because it was in stark contrast to the higher education I was receiving (ironically at BYU, it really is a great school). In academics and higher education, the scientific method is central. It comes with the idea of questioning everything and being very hesitant to claim something as “true.” The skepticism and logical exploration of knowledge was at odds with my faith and ultimately helped me have the humility to question and scrutinize my faith. It all came down pretty quickly after that. Great video, very well spoken. Thanks a lot

When you picked up that incest it stairs up, at you thinking, what is that? It went back to its friends trying to explain what you were. There are things in the universe older and greater than us, and I am both terrified and amazed that we have not discovered or know everything. There are things in this universe that we will never know or even comprehend. And I am fine with that.
