Alafia (peace) everyone. As always I'll love to thank you all for your love and support and the positive energy you send my way. Please remember my videos and content are NOT for everyone. If what I'm say do not apply to you or your loc journey that's fine but please keep the negative comments to yourselves and allow others to appreciate what I'm trying to do for the loc community, which is educate. Like I always say, "if you don't like my videos or what I'm saying, then don't watch", it's that simple. BIGGGG SHOUT OUT to all my positive Queens and Kings that subscribe to my channel. YOU GUYS ROCK.

In my 11 years (in August) of locing I have NEVER received this type of information about my hair and I appreciate this. Because everyone is concerned about the "salon finish" they're doing us a biggggg injustice. I just wish there were more people like you around the world that genuinely cared😔 your clients are so lucky! I recently had a major curve ball thrown at me by life and I don't know where to start with my hair😔

I had fibroids about 5 or 6 years ago, too. My doctor called me on a Saturday morning and told me I MUST go to the emergency room before the weekend was over. My iron levels were so low, I ended having to get a pint and a half of blood. First, I noticed my nails were brittle, I was tired all the time, & I had dark circles under my eyes. And then...the anemia started affecting my locs, too. So, I can totally relate to Tina's story. Yannie, you are so genuine and awesome!! Her locs are beautiful!!❤

Hello. My name is Tina. I lost 90% of my hair in 2011 (used relaxers prior to the time), and later learned that it was due to stress. My mother cried. Tina's hair in the video appear to be the same texture and thickness as mine. Through prayer, patience, and educating myself on what was best for my hair--it ultimately grew back and then some. I have been "Sisterlocked" since December, 2013. Praise to the Most High! My hair is approaching mid-back length. Stay encouraged Tina. Thank you too, Yannie--for educating people. Keep up the good work!

I'm so glad you're saying this. About 2 years ago my hair started thinning really badly in my crown. The lady who cut my hair at the time was extremely rude and blaming me for it even though I said I wasn't doing anything differently. Turns out I had a VERY severe Vitamin D and Iron deficiency. I love that you focus how overall health and how it can effect your hair and scalp.

Thank you for sharing your story. I was losing clumps of hair for years. I also went to a dermatologist and was told that it was my age and I was also given Rogain, which I didn’t take. Ultimately, it was low iron, primarily due to having a very heavy cycle. I hate that I wasted years and unnecessary hair loss thinking that it was age and stress, but now the issue has been resolved. Definitely persist in getting checked out if you have unexplained hair loss.

I struggle with alopecia. I’ve been following your advice about leaving my hair alone with exception of keeping it oiled with black castor oil. I’ve also added a spritz of rose water/vitamin E mix when necessary. Let me tell you, my brittle dryness is GONE! My real soft texture is back. I’ve washed my hair twice since August. But my hair is not dirty. I was on Rogaine before I started watching Yannie. I’m a firm believer in going natural!!!! Thank you, Yannie!

You’re REALLY awesome. This video was meant for to see. I’ve been locking for about 14 years and have had healthy locs for a long time. Until I decided to color some of them an Auburn color last year. A few months after coloring, my locs starting breaking almost right at the point where the color started. Then the crown thinned so much until the whole loc broke off. So I have an area in the top of my head about the same size as the young lady in this video that has hair but so short the scalp is visible. I said that to say, what I thought was breakage due to dyeing my hair, could possibly be due to an internal health issue. Thanks a milly for your truth, advice and pure honesty. I will be making a doctors appointment after COVID-19 is over. I’m located in Atlanta and will be making an appointment with you when you began accepting more clients. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Thank you for this knowledge and thanks to your gorgeous client for allowing us to tune in on her loc journey ! I have a client now experiencing some of the same situations. His dermatologist reported to us that he should refrain from chemicals and styles. It didn't sit well with me because I assumed I have been using the wrong products. 😞 felt like a bad stylist but After watching this I must say....we may have to call his doctor back and cancel his next appt with me! I'd rather save his hair than lose him as a friend and client! Thank you!

I can't thank you enough for posting these videos. I was doing the most and initially I love the softness of my hair after I washed but then I realized it not only changed the texture of my hair, preventing it from locking, but my hair started falling out. Fast forward, I've been following your advice-I've being patient with the process and progress and I happy to say my course texture is back. I still have a couple of small bald spots. I don't know if it's permanent alopecia- I dyed my hair causing me to lose part hair. Nevertheless, I left my hair alone. Thank you again. Keep educating the loc community not just about locs but about health and sense of self. Take care.

I use to loose hair in two spots behind both of my ears for 10 years. Everytime Id go to the doctors they'd tell me nothing is wrong and that it was just traction alopecia. Which I knew wasn't true. Then I lost one spot in the middle back of my hair that went completely bald and they told me the same thing it also grew back completely straight. It wasn't until I went to the doctors for regular check up they checked my blood and I had such low iron they thought I had a blood condition. They also noticed my thyroids weren't working efficiently. Hair is a by product of underlying issues and a lot of the time the doctors willllll dissmiss you!!! With diet change and working out I haven't had the problem since!

Im just finding this video but the same thing happen to me. I had not seen a dr in years but when i found one and told her i was tried all the time and if i got over heated i felt like i was about to pass out. she took blood and a few days later she called me and said to find some one to bring me right now to the ER. when i got there i ended up getting two pints of blood. a week later i think it was i had to start the iron transfusions. but for me i have had to get them on and off for about 3 years. and they still check it twice a yr along with b12 shots. i have had my locs for 11 years now and i have fine hair i dont know the # or grade. i lost alot of locs and it has thinned alot. i really dont want to cut my hair but it looks for thin now. im thinking of just cutting it and starting over.

How long did it take to grow back? I had locs, and I cut my locs off in 2021. I noticed 4 months, I had lost a lot of hair in the crown area. In February, I started using wild growth hair oil and It has grown back a little, but I still see my scalp in the crown area. How long will it take for it to fully grow back?

It's different for everyone. I'm sure you don't want to hear that, because for us, our mane is our pride and we want to see it come back immediately. But everyone's hair grows at different rates, the same way that we lose and gain weight differently.
