I owned a 2013 B8 S4 (the one in my profile pic) and now I own a 2017 B9 S4. The B9 is more of a dads car. It's technically a little faster in a straight line and sounds a lot cooler but the B8 was way more sporty. The supercharged engine was super responsive and the dual clutch transmission was in a completely different league. The ZF auto is fine but that it, just fine whereas the DSG was phenomenal. I wish Audi would go back to the dual clutch for the S4 because the ZF just sucks in comparison. Every time you leave an intersection just driving normally its just ehhhhhhhh..ehhhhhhhhh until it finally locks up the torque converter. Once you are moving it works reasonably well and the paddles work decently but still not close to the precision of the DSG. I cant say which car I prefer though because the B9 has a lot of other benefits like the interior is much newer and fancier with big screens etc and the suspension is softer so it's more comfortable but also means it rolls more when pushing through higher speed corners. Basically they are quite different cars even though they are both S4's.

From someone who went RWD V6 Twin turbo 5 speed. To a AWD V6 Supercharge 7 speed dual clutch.

The B8.5 exterior is so much sexier than the B9. No question.

Sucks we dont get the gasoline version in the UK all we get is the diesel S4

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on the B9.5 gearbox changes they made for the SQ5. I have the B9 S5 and the B9.5 SQ5. They are noticeably different in how they feel.

What does he mean if you want something to eat up 10 of thousands of miles? I been looking for b8.5 s4 as my “4lifer” and im expecting to drive it more than the yearly average miles and even tho ive seen this video millions of times this my first time hearing that. I seen s4 with over 200k miles running perfectly but that comment made me wonder. Any clarification would be highly appreciated 🙌🏼

B8.5 S4 has the HMI display integrated into the dash. B9 S4 has the tablet stuck on the dash for the HMI which makes it look cheap!!!
